I just finished Ragnarok, 10/10 I definitely enjoyed it After Brok’s funeral and this song played during the credits, I started relieving the game in my head and I had goosebumps, Santa Monica made these 4 years wait worthy
@@amysteriousviewer3772 nah sorry I couldn’t wait 4-5 years to get sequel that will finally conclude the trilogy. I’d rather have 2 games and than have them do Egypt hopefully
@@JDisclmd kratos was in in Egypt for a short time and don't forget we need to see what happens to Artreus. Also what happens to Midgard and the other Realms like; how are they gonna rebuild, how does this affect Valhalla and will Sindri be okay?
@@samwilsoncaptainamerica233 this doesn’t need to be shown tho? Not every story needs to tell every detail like the ones u mentioned. That’s not how storytelling works most of the time. Why would they make a god of war game telling a story about what? Rebuilding Midgard? So u want a game where the story is the same as god of war ragnaroks sidequests. There’s no goal or anything. And Atreus having this open ending is perfect for an Atreus game that isn’t just about Norse but about him traveling somewhere else. Like I said before use your imagination it’s an open ending for a few details. Not everything needs to be put into the game and be thrown at u. Also kratos was in Egypt which would make it even better since it would actually make sense for him to go there since he’s been there before.
It rarely happens with massive blockbuster entertainment, but this game really is one of those grand narratives that encompasses everything life is about. Love, grief, life, death, rage, peace, tragedy, beauty, despair, hope, war, friendship, doubt, trust. It's all here, and it's done so well. Sony Santa Monica really went L3+R3 on this one.
The final hour of this game may well be the best written, best acted and most heart felt ending to a game, alongside mass effect for me. The bond between kratos and atreous was magical, the scene with faye, the scene in the tent and at the end were more emotional than most movies.
Brok's story is tragic, but I still feel the worst for Freya. What she had to endure at the hands of Odin, the Valkyries, the Vanir: her own people, Kratos, even Bauldur: her own son...it's unimaginable how much she suffered. Yet she somehow endured and managed to let all that hate, anger and resentment go because she saw there was no future in it. That really speaks to me on a personal level. I hope I can be strong as her one day.
Same could be said about Kratos. That's what makes they're relationship great, Kratos has knows what it's like to be constantly tormented by others to the point of feeling nothing but vengeance
I think this line sums up Kratos as a character perfectly: "I've walked the earth and there are so few here that know How dark the night and just how cold the wind can blow."
This song not only complements the meaning of the story but it actually transcends the game itself. I get emotional every time I hear it, everyone can get its personal meaning for himself. Aside from politics, from race, from religion, we really are just Humans and maybe we forget that we all are on the same boat we call life. This world really takes more strength than it gives
To all things housed in her silence Nature offers a violence The bear that keeps to his own line The wolf that seeks always his own kind The world that hardens as the harsher winter holds The parent forced to eat its young before it grows Every bird, gone unheard Starving where the ground has froze The winter sun rise, red on white Like blood upon the snow Like blood upon the snow The ground walked here is a wonder It ceases never to hunger And all things nature's given She takes all things back from the living I've walked the earth and there are so few here that know How dark the night And just how cold the wind can blow I've no more hunger now to see where the road will go I've no more kept my warmth Than blood upon the snow Blood upon the snow Blood upon the snow Blood upon the snow It's not my arms that will fail me But this world takes more strength than it gave me The trees deny themselves nothing that makes them grow No rain fall, no sunshine No blood upon the snow Blood upon the snow Blood upon the snow Blood upon the snow To all things housed in her silence Nature offers a violence
@@mclovinn_809 nah played on the give me balance. You just need to get good with parry windows and being almost perfect with battles. Gna took me 2 tries. Remember the berserkers are the actual Valkyries of this game and doing them will get you wayyy over prepped for everything else. You wanna talk about extremely difficult, the berserker king took me over 30 tries, was getting my head bashed in by a boss that uses 20 different attack, 3 different attack patterns that he swaps between throughout the fight in no set order. Truly the best GMV video I've seen yet, God of War: Ragnarok brought me to tears alone and this video just blew me away and brought those same emotions and raw feelings back, thank you so much.
GOW is more than a game. It's an experience. A truly immersive story. When Brok died, I truly had to hold back a tear. I yelled at the tv. A 44 year old man, wife and kids, and I'm getting angry at Odin for deceiving and destroying a family. The song made the scene for the funeral. Do not stop these games. There's so much more to tell.

To all the people who are complaining that its not a game its an interactive movie...welll they are right its not a game its an emotional journey they failed to understand... After we defeat odin atreus parts ways from us i felt really emotional that tears came out but i was not ready for whats to come. Broks funeral hit me even harder and I cried like a baby....it was the best moment of any video game I played
In my opinion, god of war 4 and especially god of war 5 ragnarok is not just about how the game works and how well you can play it. but the story and music and how it affects us in the end and how much we enjoy it all.
God of war went from a pretty basic hack and slash to one of the greatest games of all time. The amount of times playing ragnarok gave me chills was incredible. The soundtrack, characters and story are unforgettable.
"I've walked the earth and there are so few here that know How dark the night and just how cold the wind can blow I've no more hunger now to see where the road will go I've no more kept my warmth" This part is suppose to be all about Kratos journey to the Norse mythology, after he destroyed all the Greek gods. He knows what war looks like and that he just wanted to have a normal life without any violence and blood, because he's the only one who can understands the consequences that war brings to everyone and that it leads to a dark road ("I've walked the earth and there are so few here that know How dark the night and just how cold the wind can blow"). Also, Kratos knows that war wont leave him alone and that he will always going to finish that war. It ceases never to hunger
And all things nature's given

How dark the night
And just how cold the wind can blow
I've no more hunger now to see where the road will go
