Steven was actually surprisingly quite good.
Nick's started off solid, but he found himself in a jam and couldn't recover. Happens to the best of us sometimes...

I can see Segal being pretty good with just some more rehearsal. Jonas fucked up and then didn't know how to recover. Lil Wayne was just something else entirely...
And Seagal was just using his thumb to pick every note, which I find pretty hard.
Seagal has released many albums, and even played music on the soundtracks to his movies, since the 90’s.
He hires a bunch of Nashville players, to do gigs. I remember when he released his first album. 😆
He knows how to play, but when he sings it gets rough fast. He’s had Marty Stuart play with him, and record on his records.

I agree, Segal was average and Jonas' not worth mentioning
but Lil Wayne's tone and soulfulness on the instrument blows them away and most professionals.
If he played three more notes no one would be complaining but notes have become overrated, less is more .
My vote for biggest fool goes to Lil Wayne. I can't believe he actually looks pleased with himself. Thanks for transcribing Levi, I don't think I could have worked that out otherwise 😂

Jonas. Lil Wayne is atrocious but at least it's on line with his rap skills. Steven Seagal though impeded by the mono thumb downpick technique sounds like an average bar blues hack. Jonas looked like he had a clue but showed no concept of pitch or timing.

Segall had rhythm, no joke.
It's obviously lil Wayne. Lil Wayne was the most popular rapper in the world and then decided to pick up a guitar and pretend he could play it for a year. I had a friend atten a show right after he started "playing" guitar and she said he did like a whole show and then came out for the first encore with a guitar and proceeded to just pluck away like a child who was bought a toy guitar. And the crowd went silent as they all tried to process what was happening before they erupted into enormous applause... because "hey it's a party and that's lil Wayne being lil Wayne"
Seagal has always been this. While he's not good, he's also not bad. At least he appreciates good music and understands what's going on under his fingers.
As far as Nick Jonas (that is Nick, right?) I have seen a couple videos where he actually plays some okay guitar. Mostly rhythm but a little solo here and there. I cant hate on guys who are ridiculously popular pop music dudes that at least want to incorporate some instruments... especially guitar. And they can't all be mayer.

I think these solos go beyond the limits of Western music notations. How would you make it sure that Lil Wayne's or Nick Jonas' solo is played exactly correctly? Although I admit that Clay did brilliant job while writing the rhythm for Lil Wayne's solo!
This clearly calls for A) micro-tonal notation with added marking for sharpness or flatness, B) marking the relaxed interpretation of the rhythm (dragged and rushed beats) and C) clarifying comments like 'pour your inner spirit to following notes'.

Seagal was alright. Wayne wasn't good but he seemed to have been playing at his skill level. Jonas was just bad. Like did he even practice his part?
That’s such a poor take man. Nick played literally 2 bad notes and his bends were flat. Other than that, his part had both melody AND rhythmic variation.
Segal just pissed the same licks he pisses over everything. Bad time. Bad tone. No sense of there being other music happening… just “I’ll play whatever”

I am not much better hahah I'm old drummer trying to create and release stress. But these guys do not really seem to have much more talent than one another. When you are rich and on stage the tweens love it.

You should’ve done a reverse ‘shreds’ video; overdub really good playing over these guys video parts.
If you’re not familiar, ‘shreds’ were a series a videos of great players with awful guitar overdubs.
There are some genius versions of entire song replacements over music videos.
Search Kiss shreds and Rolling Stones shreds for good examples.
St Sanders is THE master of this. I saw the Kiss one first, masterpieces. Even Steve Vai like the one of him with the triple neck guitar, others weren't so enamoured :)
