I currently own last years lg 27” (the first one) and had a gigabyte fo32u2 and found the glossy really annoying. I use in a dark room at night but the slightest light would make the thing act like a black mirror, couldn’t do it. I did look at the Samsung and I feel like the matte is heavier than on the lg. lg you really got to try hard to see it the Samsung I felt like was far easier to see. But I’m team matte all day.
Matte all day everyday. The people that complain that the Samsung G80SD and LG 32GS95UE are using matte don't own one of them. I own the LG 32GS95UE and it is amazing.
I currently have lg 27” oled and had a gigabyte oled glossy, matte ftw! Something about staring back at myself in the slightest light and being able to watch the tv in the other room really turned me off.
@@whitey2880 I play in a dark room and matte looks like garbage with an all white image or a blue sky in a game. Overall reduced clarity which is a shame.
100% agree with your point about glossy/matte. Why would ambient light be a concern on a monitor intended to be used within one's home? Do they think people live in glass boxes?

good review, I also own both G8 OLED a G8 Mini LED, for me the scan lines on the mini LED at 240hz is annoying, Once u see them u can't unsee them, there more prominent on colourful scenes and when reading text, when set to 120hz the scanlines disappear
G-Sync in this monitor, is it full G-Sync or G-Sync Compatible? Because I guess that's the difference. Do you know how this monitor works with RTX 4000 series cards? Are the possibilities of cooperation via the G-Sync implemented in the monitor complete or do they have any limitations?
Nice video. Do you use light bar and does it affect picture like raising black levels or adding reflections? I see light bar in the video but its turned off :D
There is a problem with this monitor that I cannot solve. It is the color tone. When I select standard, the tone is very light blue, it is a very cold tone, and when I select warm1, it is very reddish. I cannot find a neutral tone like on my LG monitor.
You need to get quite involved with the calibration. I had the same issue at first, but it really is all about calibration. You will need to learn about it and do it, and as you learn you will find the picture getting better and better. Search for videos on the topic, there are many really good ones. You need to first do the 'Smart Calibration' in the monitor menu, as long as your phone is compatible. Then you need to adjust the colour settings beyond just presets, there are videos about doing it for this monitor, and also just colour calibration in general. White balance is probably the most important starting point for getting the colours correct. Then you need to configure colour/gamma/brightness settings in Windows, both for HDR and standard colour settings. Helps to have Windows 11 for HDR. Finally, you can adjust the colour settings as needed if you switch between HDR and SDR. For example, RGB (I choose from the NVidia control panel) looks over saturated in HDR mode, so I switch to the other mode for it.
Hey man I got a question, are you able to see any visible texture on solid colours on this monitor? I got mine a month ago and comparing it to my AW32QF, it's extremely grainy on solid colours, think a cloudy sky in games/media. I've asked a lot of people regarding it and apparently, no one can see it? I don't know if they're coping or my unit is straight up defective(not sure how a coating can be defective tbh).
Hi, I'm not sure if what you're describing is similar to what I've noticed but in my case having the color temperature slider go over 18 really makes the colors pretty bad, almost like if the Hue is set to max. It really amazes me because I've seen most people set their color temperature to 32-35 and for me that looks too blue. By the way this is with Game mode on as 90% I play in HDR.
Can you make this monitor 24inch changing the aspect ratio with the in-monitor settings? I dont own a pc but a PS5, I play competitive call of duty and besides that i play a lot of story games. I have that monitor is amazing but since I bought it I had a problem I hope you can help me basically I can not use DP with my pc because from time to time it sends me a black screen when I play having to restart the game mode the only way I solve this is using hdmi but it is quite annoying to lose the DP port.
@roberthinds8757 I only have the problem with DP, go to Nvidia settings and make sure you are using 3840x2160 native /240hz. Then go to Gsync settings and enable to full screen and window and hit apply. So far that has worked for me, hope that helps.
@JTimbo007 No just random black outs. So this is what I did and I haven't had issues right now, make sure the resolution is at 3840x2160 native /240hz, then enable Gsync for window and full screen mode.

Bought this monitor for $800 on prime day and even at this price I couldn’t recommend this product. Yea the display is nice and very bright, the matte finish is barely there and doesn’t bother at all. But the problem starts with the software, random back screens, static screens, having to turn it on and off and use the remote almost every time you use it. It’s definitely more of a tv than a monitor. If they made this monitor strictly as a monitor with out the buggy tv software then it would def be a 10/10. I think the problem is with just Samsung in general even their g8 240hz mini leds have signal problems. Beautiful screens buggy systems.
The random black screens also occur on other monitors such as the Asus PG32UCDM. You don't have to turn it off either, just let it go into standby when you turn off your PC. You don't have to use the remote at all after setting it up if you don't wanna use the smart apps.
It’s not just black screens, sometimes it’s random static screens and the standby mode is finicky because it takes forever for it to wake up and go into the desktop. As a tv it’s wonderful but as a monitors it’s a 7/10 for me. Would be higher once they fix the glitches since it’s a new monitor/tv after all
@@kjrayo18 Static screens? Never happened on my unit so far. I have nothing bad to say about the standby mode either, but I only use it when I turn off my PC tbh. My main issue is actually the VRR flickering, but other QD-OLED monitors aren't much better in that regard (if at all).
I’m, with you on this. I like the monitor but hate the “TV” software. It’s slow waking up and connecting to my computer. I usually have to use the remote to activate the video port. I tried calling Samsung to see if there is a way to turn that off and sat on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up. There is no “perfect” monitor for everyone but this one seems pretty good to my eyes, and it is priced better than the competition now. I have both the mimi LED version and this one. I had the problem as well. Changing too HDMI solved all my problems. Was same with G8 34 inch oled. I thought they would fix it for this one but nope. Was about to return but was reading someone that said hdmi has no issues. So I changed and had no problems after that. Had monitor now for 2 months and I’m happy with it.
