If water physics add flooding, it's going to be an insanely complicated mechanic. Especially when taking into account hills and where you can place your farms so they might not be destroyed.
I only have 10 hours into it. It's definitely an early access and I fully am on board with the dev taking a much deserved vacation.
I would love water wheels as a powersource for upgrading your mill, smithy, saw pit etc
Many you need gears and other expensive stuff to build it but it should be more efficient than the normal building
Completely I agree that I got my money's worth from Manor Lords, and I pop back into it whenever I fancy until the next content drop.
I wonder if they'll do water trading
before the age of steam (and even a bit of time after) barges on water have been a traditional way to move goods through a country
I'd even wonder if there would be a map with a river and limited crossings/ferries, where u could Toll traders as they pass through

Finally! It was so... northern being limited to bowmen. Plus bows are quite realistically garbage. We really needed PROPER ranged troops!

Having played many hours on this game I have reached the boredom phase. The game already looks visually stunning and has limited bugs that hinder my experience - I’m not interested in shadows / bug fixes etc. I’m keen on new maps, water yes and new gameplay features.
New maps are in the works according to Gregg. Porting the game to UE5 took quite some time and slowed down development but it’s good in the long run to use an engine that is being supported.
AI city building/siege mecanic would be insane

would be nice to see an expanse on farming, like the kinds of animals and such. like would be cool to be able to capture tame and breed horses, then you can also use them as Calvary/scouts for the combat and conquest side of the game
If we have fishing pools that allow for fishing during spring summer and fall but freeze in winter, it could be cool to get a perk that allows for ice-fishing on a frozen lake/river

Manor Lords got me into the city builder genre. So much so that I ended up buying FrostPunk, granted it was during the recent Steam sale.

The main thing impressed me is free walking and god mode i thought it's upview game for a second
I wish they'd add a overworld map with 4x style gameplay.
I remember building mega settlements in Banished and Farthest Frontier and my FPS tanking to below 20 because of the population. Haven't bought this game yet but hopefully the move to UE5 improves this.
I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth from this game also, but can’t wait for the update. I’ve about exhausted the gameplay on the current version and need an excuse to play some more.
Doubt the next update will change that. But more updates should be ok the way and they should come sooner. Moving to UE5 took a long time.

You can literally fish during winter and people have been for ages. It would be more realistic if it was possible in game.
As for food variation. Something as Milk and cheese could also be used.
Agreed, I think chicken coops, sheep herds and goat herders should produce meat as well… because at the moment hunters are completely obsolete, even on the easiest settings.

It’s great and I’m glad I supported it. It’s not a live service game so what’s the issue? I currently don’t play because I don’t want to burn myself out on an early version of the game. There is so much more to come. My guess I the game will fully release in 3 years. So I will play it every half a year or so to see what’s new. Can’t wait for it tbh.

It needs a more, controversial opinion, but it bores me, very quickly, I can’t put my finger on it, but it doesn’t make me want to go back to it. I really want it to do well, I’ve been sooo excited for manor lords. I’m a huge fan of the genre, I just can’t get into it. Looking forward to the end product.

Manor lord Dev won't fill the game with mechanics, so an excellent move would be for them to provide better support for Mods. Will have infinite content for the game.
Unreal Engine is one of the lesser things on my mind to be honest. As Beta games go or for that matter AAA games, its been flawless on a visual level.
Things like the skill tree, conversation, advancded building like the walls? those things never worked for me.
That is the problem with the indie games they are great but the updates are so slow is the same with supermarket simulator

I want specialised regions. If you conquer new region you should be able to build just a farms, for example, without needing to build and upgrade entire village. They still should be able to get supplies from the main town, city.
Rather keep graphics as they are and improve gameplay.

Yea more maps and enemy AI is coming. But let them take their time. Not sure if random maps will ever be a thing.

Looking at your best upgrade would be a Ryzen 9 7950X3D or and Intel 14900k (intel one is $100) cheaper from what I gleaned.

Any game converted to UE5 is absolutely horrible on somewhat older systems. Best example is Satisfactory, so I'll have to add Manor Lords to the list of unplayable lag horror titles. shame for a genre that doesn't need it and provides little added value. People really care enough about a sunset reflecting in the water in a city builder to warrant spending 4-5K on a new machine?
I haven't been playing recently anymore anyway because of the horrible game breaking economy bugs like people stopping working because the pathing gone wild or there is some resource that can't be picked up and everyone just standing around idle around one resource.
They did not move to UE5 for graphical reasons.

Yeah UE5 upgrade had to be done but it slowed down development of content so it’s not that exciting. Once they have switched engines thinks will speed up again.
