Awesome, that turned out beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I am the proud new owner of a 5x5x3 canary and rosewood box. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for inspiring me to try new things in my shop.
Aww, thank you Dave! So glad you like it
Very beautiful little box. The time spent making it was was well worth the effort. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
I will definitely be having a go at this when my S1 laser arrives this weekend - chosen with the help of your reviews, so thankyou for those
I received your Wtax in the mail a couple days ago. I can’t wait to use them. But most importantly, the note that was inside got to me. Thank you very much for what you do.
I enjoy your videos very much especially since you do show when you make a mistake. You give the amateurs the courage to try woodworking projects without fear of not being perfect.
But while making the this project I did notice a mistake you made in cutting the lid off this box. You could have cut the lid by using the router for both cuts, inside and outside by using a 3/8ths router bit. Thanks for reading and keep on making wonderful boxes.❤😊
Hi Skyler, I have a new way to make boxes now. I have seen where you have to insert wood strips inside the box to create the lip but not this way which seems easier. So thank you for the video looking forward to the next one.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love this build. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you. And you are welcome
I love your videos. There is so much to learn, and I imagine I don't spend even 1/4 of the time that you do in the shop.
Thank you. I am trying my best to
Very beautiful!
@woodworkingwithSkyler thanks for the lesson. You certainly have patience. It turned out lovely. Since you worked so hard on sticking the pattern together...keep the cut off parts and use them for inlay! That's one process for 2 projects making it more efficient.
I thought of the perfect t-shirt logo for you! "Super, super...something like that!" You say both alot like a catch phrase so you could have a print company make them up and sell them!
As always, beautiful work. I do have an easier way for you to make it interlocking. Instead of using the table to cut on your line, use the same router on your router table starting exactly where you have that line and of course, half depth to make your lid perfectly interlock your box
your lid looks great on that box. thanks for the tutorial. I am still learning. Love it.
Thank you
Your work is beatiful. Thnks for sharing your wonderful work.
Thank YOU
Another beautiful box, and another project that I am going to try! It will have to wait because I am in Spain for April. I have made a few boxes already and they turned out great. Thanks for sharing your skills with us, it’s really helpful
Thanks you my friend
Beautiful job sky! Love the geometric design!!
Thank you Frank
Great job. Thank you 😊
Thanks Gary
That is a beautiful box. I like the shading that the laser cut makes on the cut lines of the triangular pieces. I would not remove that. Just put your finish over it.
Thank you
Good job. Pretty box.
Thank you! 😊
Hi Skyler, it's Grover. Another outstanding video from Sawdust and splinters. For some reason @ 11:46 I noticed the Moxon ( workbench vice) vice in the background , that was the video when I discovered your channel. Another background observation @ 24:29 I see your scroll saw table with the magnifying glass accessory , that is an accessory I need. I have been relying on over the counter reading glasses.
First time seeing your channel, was drawn in by the Mystery Box unboxing one... Thank you for that.
Question on this build, I'm just beginning to get the courage to make boxes and love this design, I'll probably check out your other ones. But, do you have any non-laser-woodworker tips on cutting those small parts?
New idea for you to make when you have lot of small wood: Octagonal wa-handle
Beautiful work !! You should try to add some brass inlays around the lid of the box, i think that would be awesome
That's a great idea! Thank you
@@woodworkingwithSkyler I think the brass inlay would really complement the canary accents!
🌹
Great project! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for being a member
That turned out beautifully. Very good match of the continuous grain pattern for box and lid. I like the interlocking lid idea. You cleaved the top from the box on the table saw. Could that exterior dado on the box portion be done with the table saw as well instead of a router?
Absolutely yes. I used the router table because it was already set up
@@woodworkingwithSkyler Thank you Skyler. I really enjoy your creative process.
i THINK i know how to cut the triangles on my laser ..........are the instructions in the plans?
How did you cut the small pieces?
I cut them with my laser
