Creasing your wrist back, as done in the video, keeps the club face square throughout the backswing and downswing… over the past couple years, I’ve revamped my swing and swing feel, due to wanting to increase playing longevity (bit of an ‘older lad’, here). Cured the casting by moving the ‘speed part’ of my swing to the front of the ball, which got me to ‘scrunch’ (?) my right wrist directly back, toward the top of my right forearm. Instead of trying to ‘create’ this new wrist action in the backswing, I thought it would be easier to start off with it at address. Ball striking was still erratic, but did see the kind of impact you wanna feel, with little effort or strain. I realized the consistency I wanted to see was more than a ‘consistent’ square club face, but a ‘consistent’ club distance from the body. Faldo used to tuck excess shirt under both arms, like this guy does, and it seemed to work for him. Implemented both the wrist crease and shirt tucks, and I’m working on tempo and speed, but to my own disbelief in the consistency in ball striking… …this man speaks gospel (no offense to our ‘faithful’ friends)
Craig , Totally agree on the PI trainer , It impedes the pendulum of a proper swing . It doesn't allow a full release to the correct wrist position on the forward side . I have to give it to you Craig , Your the first teacher that explains the correct use of the wrists and performs the swing pretty darn close to the late Mike Austin. My question to you today if you had to have only one swinging aid to drive these principles of the wrists conditions of the full out free wheeling swing what would you pick ? Okay two if you have to. One that just flat out works , that no bin will be needed to throw it in. LOL. Must Appreciated double Cheers
An interesting element here is that to achieve the hand position you describe, I have normally focused on the left, lead wrist, getting it bowed in flexion. Most instruction talks about the lead arm, and I think most players focus on that. If you get the left wrist bowed, it does automatically make the right or trail wrist bend back in extension as you show. But perhaps you have provided a better way to achieve the desired position in terms of body kinetics, That is, the mind should concentrate on the right, or trail, wrist and not on the left or lead wrist. Bending the right wrist back as you show will automatically cause the left wrist to be bowed in flexion. Think of the right or trail arm and wrist as the driver , the engine, of the swing, not the left or lead arm and wrist.
Craig , How do you swing the Precision Impact trainer , when the right wrist will be bent , but will keep you bent and not allow one to get the left wrist bent, right wrist into flexion . The Precision Impact trainers lower digs into the top of my wrist ?
That’s the most ridiculous training aid ever created .. what a joke the wrists don’t do that .. Dr Robert Neal has tested 550 PGA pros .. the trail wrist moves into flexion .. your been scammed your working on the incorrect motion with that ridiculous piece of crap on your wrist .. throw it in the bin
Grip chamge to strong grip is a game changer, i lost my game for a few years after taking lessons and the PGA instructor changed me from a 3-4 knuckle grip to neutral, stupidly i thought it would improve my game, the opposite happened. Now back to a strong grip.
Grip is all swing dependant. Strong will work for some because of their swing whilst it will be horrendous for others due to the way they swing and they'll need neutral or weak
Come across your channel recently and early release has been a massive problem of mine for ages. I’ve been working on this release and my irons have instantly improved but struggling with driver … any tips for the big dog?
That’s good news 👍.. you won’t me to give you written tips on what you could be doing wrong with your driver? Even though i haven’t seen your swing or even your set up?…. That’s like trying to light candles in the wind
Point of emphasis… the club's weight and momentum move the wrists. The wrists don’t move the club. Totally deactivate the wrists to hinge and allow the club head to sling through. Pure.
Does it say anywhere how to drive it better ? .. you think 60% of weight on the front foot and a narrow stance and shaft and lead arm in a line with the ball in the middle of the stance i’m talking about drivers ? Are you serious?
These are the best series of videos. Hit crisper shots for sure.
Glad you like them! 👍

I think you can do it without training aids
I think the drills that i’ve shown loosen up the hands… i’ve done lots of videos on this

ok
Craig Hanson… is this also for the driver and longer clubs as well?
Seems you are using only irons in these videos. Thanks!
Is the video about drivers?

Awesome video again. Would my ProSendr do the same thing as hack motion?
Thanks for the great in-depth explanation in this video.
Cheers!✌️
Thanks very much .. i don’t know anything about the ProSendr .. sorry
