I really liked how Ginger played the Yoshi and Pikachu match ups. At times, he made it seem like it was impossible for those characters to hit Falco. I wish mang0 shot more lasers and forced Amsa to approach, like Ginger did when he was winning.
Funny how Ginger looked untouchable then lost.
@@latinobacon He couldn't keep it up but I'm talking about the times when he was up. He had the right game plan but just couldn't execute it for the whole set (and sadly pretty much got zero to deathed whenever he didn't). Ginger even said that was the best he has ever played even though the game count didn't reflect it.

@@latinobacon Not really. Mang0 and Ginger play very differently. I think if Mang0 just shot more lasers and followed Ginger's defensive playstyle, forcing Amsa to approach, his openings would have came much easier. Instead he tried to force openings, which usually works for mang0, except he didn't shoot many oppressive lasers that would get him shield pressure opportunities or guaranteed follow ups.
Mang0s punish game and recovery are much better than Gingers, so if he just played neutral a bit smarter like Ginger, he could have won all those games.
Even if he wants to stick with the aggressive approach, it was just weird af seeing mang0 barely even approaching with lasers or try to bait an attack close range. He just ran at Amsa, mostly. His mix up game was not on point this set. There is no way Amsa could get all those parries and dj armour counter hits if he wasn't predicting them.
@@Dlord1PlayStation Yoshi doesn't want to shield he can't jump and his grab is god awful. Mango shouldn't have fell for the armor that many times he wasn't adapting at all. Not sure if amsa was reading him or just out gambled the gambler himself.
I wanted Mango to make it to Plup/Hungrybox but jeez, Amsa is an absolute monster. So happy to see him make Top 4 at a supermajor

@@latinobacon It just seemed like Mango didn't know when it was safe to attack Amsa. Way too many times he got counterattacked, and as Falco, that can mean straight-up death if he's in the air

Did anyone else notice how perfect aMSa's first revenge stock was? He FAired Mango out of a dash dance, read the jump off stage with the perfectly timed egg, waited for the dropdown from Mango and hit him with an extended NAir, then dropping himself, double jumping and hitting the down b EXACTLY at the right time just to make sure Mango couldn't make it back to stage.

@@stevenbutrym7479 First of all, I wasn't trying to downplay amsa, I know he's incredible. My point is he doesn't play a top tier, and it's always fun to watch people with mid tier mains beat good top tiers because of the 20XX mindset a lot of people get into. Second, I'm not rooting for Mango's downfall, I just heavily dislike all the bias towards him, so seeing him get 3-0'd is a nice reminder that he's still human and can lose.

That statement makes you seem like a total asshole. Amsa isn't beating #1 ranked Mango. He's beating a Mango that's be performing worse and worse throughout the years. While beating Mango is obviously impressive, this conceit is malicious.
@@stevenbutrym7479 I'll concede on that first point. As for the second, absolutely not. Mango wasn't even _around_ at the beginning of the Melee scene. He showed up in like 2007, Ken dominated the scene for about 4-5 years before that. The phrasing was specifically the appeal of "early melee". The appeal of early Melee would've been from Ken, or Isai, or Azen, or any of the other players around in the golden age, not Mango.
Watching top 8 gen 6 was so cool, there were so many different characters played, only 2 spaciest and the rest was all different characters, it was so diverse in the characters it was awesome to watch

He's already done it once b4. In fact with this win against MaNg0, aMSa has now beaten every member of the top 10 at least 1x(at least i think he's beaten Wizzrobe) EXCEPT FOR ARMADA.
Amsa and Axe are def my favorite melee players, and it's soooo nice to see them go so far in a supermajor. I'm an Ultimate player, and I was a sm4sh player before, but I love watching how fluid the meta in melee is after 18 years. It's crazy to see new shit happening this far into a game's life, and it's something I've never seen in any other game. I know that melee's broken af, and taking advantage of the engine quirks is the reason new stuff keeps being found this far along, but it's still just insane watching the game progress.
The Smash series would have fared better had later Smash games just been built upon Melee. Notice how no one beefs about Project M because it's made for both competitive and casual players. Melee was the same and there was no reason for Sakurai to dumb it down. Ultimate is a step above Sm4sh, but it's still technically shallow compared to Melee.

The spacing by aMSa has really come a long way. It felt like he shifted gears specifically for facing Mang0 as well, his movement seemed a bit slower and methodical.

aMSa destroys foxes on the regular... Too much of a glass cannon, and aMSa has sick punishes. Not sure it would be a better pick, especially when Mang0 has gone falco all day.
I think Mang0 did way better when he went with the vertical mix ups, and with Fox he would probably just get juggled easier when he fell faster. Like with the way Yoshi hitboxes work, Falco is able to get hit maybe 25% of the time, but Fox's smackability would go be like 70%.

Mang0 was at his best when he played fox and falco. He's been trying to go solo-bird and ever since he hasn't been as good. If he would just bring back the fox I'm sure he could be doing a lot better.
