      He literally didn't. Spider-Man gets the flack for that, but it was all Doctor Strange's fault. Peter never asked for a memory spell, he asked Dr. Strange to make it so Mysterio never revealed his identity. Since he couldn't do that, Doctor Strange made the decision to use a memory spell instead, Not specifying how it worked until he was already performing the spell, then got mad at Peter for making the frankly quite reasonable. Request that his original wish be honored, and the people who knew before Mysterio still know.
      Doctor Strange wasn't able to say no to a kid, so instead He misunderstands the kid's wish, tampers with the fabric of the universe, throws a fit when the kid tries to clear up that misunderstanding, and then blames the kid when things go wrong. Real class act, that Strange. No wonder he isn't Sorcerer Supreme in this universe.

      @@ethandraper4645 Peter is no expert on the mystic arts. As soon as he realized that he and Doctor Strange were not on the same page, he started to correct him. He immediately started putting together a list that he did not know he was going to need of all the people who previously knew he was Spider-Man. Peter does not know how to spell works, so it should not fall on him to stop the spell in order for them to figure out the specific way to do that. Dr. Strange is 1) an adult and 2) a master of the mystic arts. He knew how to spell worked, and responsibility. Would have been on him to stop the spell and figure out what they actually needed. Or better yet, figure out what Peter wanted in the first place before he started casting any kind of spell at all. Any attempt to blame Peter for this is shifting the blame away from somebody who is an actual expert in their field, in order to point the finger at somebody who is either a literal child, or at best literally just became an adult.

    If we're going with a Loki mistake, I think taking the Tesseract from the weapons vault in Ragnarok is arguably much worse than calling to open the Bifrost earlier in the movie. Taking the Tesseract led to Thanos finding the Asgardian ship and killing most of their people - including Loki and Heimdall - and getting his hands on one more of the stones. I'd say that's probably Loki's worst mistake in the MCU.

But Quill's mistake, no matter how idiotic, is reasonable and in character. I have a personal theory about the "mistaken spell" from No Way Home. Actually, it was not wrongly done. The problem is that at the exact moment the spell was conjured, the multiverse has opened (this considers the fact that this scene is happening at the same time as the end of "Wanda Vision" and the end of "Loki"). In other words, Dr. Strange has practiced the spell when only the Sacred Timeline existed. But at that exact moment, the multiverse was released and caused unexpected/unknown effects from the spell. Thus, it was not a mistake, it was just a new situation.

    • @SampathWijesinghe
      @SampathWijesinghe Год назад +1

      That's a good argument. But wouldn't Dr. Strange, as the master of mystic arts, be aware of such a situation before conjuring this spell. I mean if he wasn't prepared for such a dilemma then the world is truly not safe from multi dimensional and multi universal threats.

    • @gustavomoreira4906
      @gustavomoreira4906 Год назад +1

      @@SampathWijesinghe Dr. Strange and Wong are aware of many more things than those that appear in the movies. But specifically about the release of the multiverse, it seems impossible for them to know what was going on. This is because Loki was the one doing it, and TVA is a world without access, out of the control of time. In fact, until this movie, Loki was the only being outside TVA knowing more details about the opening of the multiverse. Lastly, it would not be possible to prepare before considering that it happened at the same time of the release.

      Peter didn't ignore the details. He made a very specific request that Doctor Strange make it so mysterio did not reveal he was Spider-Man. Doctor Strange decided not to ask for any details, and instead use a memory wipe spell on the entire universe without telling Peter the details of the spell until he was already doing it. That is a grown ass man making mistakes and pinning them on a child, and we all just agreed with him like we didn't see how it actually went down.

    everyone though Clint Barton (the original Hawkeye) was dead, so Kate had been using his gear and even the name Hawkeye for some time...
    BUT then Clint returned, so of course he wanted his stuff back.
    so Kate challenged him to a shooting contest.
    she shoots a perfect bullseye, then Clint says something like, "i bet my costume and name that i can SPLIT your arrow using this cheap bow and arrows that i bought from a store."
    Kate was CERTAIN he could NOT do that so she agreed...
    he did it.
    BUT later she SNEAKS in and STEALS his stuff...
    he follows her, and says something like, "if you want it THAT badly, AND you were clever enough to sneak in THERE and get out, then you're good enough to keep using it."

Then, at the beginning of _Infinity War_ , he had to watch alongside Thor as Thanos and the Black Order would kill all the remaining Asgardians, including Heimdall. Then, he tried to single-handedly kill Thanos by tricking him, and his attempt in doing so was not well-thought-out, was very obvious to Thanos, and led to Loki’s death.

    Pretty sure Star Lord hitting Thanos while Iron Man and Spiderman were trying to remove the Infinity Gauntlet should have been number one. Seeing how this is a list of dumbest mistakes, at least Thor's mistake he had the intention of killing Thanos, he just choose to aim for a slightly less lethal area of the body. Star Lord's mistake was just plain stupid, no way around it.

    9: Ignorance does not equal stupidity so this is wrong, peter had been convinced that Mysterio was better suited for the job than him. It's not his fault that Quinten was using manipulative tactics to lead him to think that. He's a teenager and can't be expected to question Quinten's actions, really this is just another case of fans forcing their meta perspective on the characters.
    2: uuum thats not peters fault this entire shit was strange's idea. And he's the one who himself knows you give the warnings * the spell
    1: not going for the head? really now how the hell was Thor meant to know that Thanos would push through the pain like that? No the real stupid part there was him not stunning him when he fucking slowly lifted his fingers and just standing there to say 'noooo!'
    most stuff on this list was fine, but those three things were not actually stupid or placed on the wrong individual

    10:43 I feel like Strange is also at fault here…
    Peter didn’t know much about the spell, Strange knew every detail and didn’t double check for anything.
    I think HISHE’s “Here’s a bright idea” guy explained it best….

    With so many more I would say this list alone doesn’t do justice at the amount of mistakes MCU has(and will continue to have).

    Tbh, I feel like Doctor Strange should've told the very obviously distressed teenager EXACTLY what the spell would do before he started casting it.

    I mean to be fair to Thor, most biotic organisms would die to a hit like that,
    So Thor would have no idea that only a headshot would kill Thanos.
    Even the audience was surprised that Thanos succeeded and didn’t die, neither the audience not Thor could’ve known
