You're really resetting the bar as to what the recorder is capable of in the skilled hands of a determined artist. Your transcription and interpretation, combined with your continually refining recording chops, are making this so wonderfully fresh for our modern ears- absolutely love this!
You never shy of these PAGES and PAGES of multiple string crossing work that is such an obstacle for an instrument without strings to cross and bounce between! You have guts... and rock solid technique: I am so envious! And those RUNS, here and in the Brandenburgs: you have no fear whatever. I've only discovered you this week and you are amazing.
In high school, I played the first movement of this concerto on violin, the second movement on trumpet, and the third movement on bassoon. Nowhere near as deftly as you play it, though! I advanced from the District to the State Music Festival with the first two movements, but sadly the bassoon adjudicator didn't think this movement was appropriate repertoire for a bassoonist and didn't give me the necessary grade to move on. Alas.
