I'm from Cape Town, so seeing your take on Gqom, was really interesting🔥 Your pronunciation is 100% too. There's actually a click sound in "Gq" of gqom, but even the way you said it is perfecty acceptable
love the vids, by far the best beat tutorials, could you do a video on sound selection? there isn't a lot of info on it and I know a lot of producers struggle with it
I'ma subscribe cause you explain well and you don't waste time. I think this is the 3rd or 4th video I've watched. Good job bro. Thank you. #TheLastEmcee #TheRevolutionIsHere
I am just blown away by you covering i GQOM, as a South African from Kwa Zulu. I have been following you, i thought this was a mistake :). again thank you for your tuts
When I saw "gqom" on the thumbnail..I wasn't sure My boy is gonna be able to say it😂😂😂. Edit: 😂😂😂thats a cute gqom pattern man😂😂nice to see you being a beginner for once😂🙌🏾
Just a general question about FL - When I play my song that I have made, sometimes at random points, the sound from specific patterns stop making noise and then continues again after like 3 seconds. It’s at completely random points when I keep replaying the song and it’s usually only applies on synth plugins and sample plugins such as momentum. It’s never at consitent times during the song so it makes me doubt that it has anything to do with the mixing or frequencies overwriting others. Could this be a CPU problem and that my PC is being overworked? If so do you know any fixes? Hope this makes sense! PS: great video as always, thank you for helping me to get into music production. Wanted to for a long time but was always overwhelmed by the complexity of DAW overviews!
I also wanted to add that this Also happens even in the audio once I’ve extracted the song and saved it on a .WAV file. I haven’t gotten any preset plugins on the master track which was the most common suggestion from Google
the empty one just feels so wrong, i could never make a beat without a hard af kick on the downbeat no matter what. without that something inside me would die
Yeah, I've only done it on one beat before. It has to have a certain vibe to work. You could also add the kick at the beginning in another pattern at the drop, but leave it out throughout the rest of the section.
I was tired of having the sand kicked in my face on the digital media beach! I was a seven stone weakling, until I discovered the course for building muscular beats by using his technique - now I have one girl on my n0b and one on my f*ce👍👍👍- (incidentally I love the Goldie reference)
@@redbunny989 not commercial "beatmakers" with no respect for anything original maybe, but people actually involved in a real culture in a meaningful way definetly do, especially considering gqom's strong anti-imperialist roots
From my understanding, it's pronounced with a click at the beginning. But I would have sounded like a twat doing that, so I chose not to. Either way, I suspect you would have been angry no matter how I pronounced it
As south africans , we are thankful for the recognition of our music 😁

I made a four on the floor kick pattern without a kick at the beginning, and it was shifted to the right twice. It's wavy.

If it’s the trial version of the vst then it will do that. Check on the top left title bar of the vst to see if it says (TRIAL VERSION)

You could do a bigger favor to the roots, at LEAST not writing it in English "or more meaningful by not writing it at all"
