    If God is for us who can stand against us is right! Nothing worth doing is easy. If it was easy than everyone would do it! Like God said to Joshua before he entered the promise land so may it be also conveyed onto you. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage...

    As someone who grew up in the country the process of building the toilet was quite funny. The many times I had to go when out in the woods, the thought of building an outhouse never crossed my mind, even though all we had was an outhouse until I was about 10 years old.

    You need to have bear spray handy and perhaps a firearm. Also I've heard that you should not have food near where you are sleeping (in bear country). I've seen elevated platforms where people store food. People can use a ladder to get to the food on the platform, but the bears can't get up there.
    I think an outdoor shower us the greatest part of being in the wilderness!

    • @OffGridWithGinaThi
      @OffGridWithGinaThi  Год назад +2

      Yes, an outdoor shower is amazing! And yes, we have bear spray now... and we are hoping to get our gun license soon. And you're totally right. There shouldn't be any food in the tent... that's common sense 101.. clearly shouldn't have done that!
      Thanks for watching :)

    Saudações do brasil!! O vídeo de vocês apareceu na minha timeline e eu assisti o canal inteiro (esperando os próximos capítulos kkkk), o lifestyle de vocês me mostrou o verdadeiro significado de vida feliz, mesmo com as dificuldades que podem aparecer no caminho. O importante é que com Deus vocês vencem qualquer obstáculo. Tenho 22 anos e estou perdido na vida, e esse canal conseguiu reacender aquela chama interior, aquela vontade de continuar vivendo, até mesmo voltei a ter aquela vontade de ir para o Canadá quando eu era criança. Obrigado gente!!!

    So glad theres homesteading content in the area more local to where I wanna buy too! Gf and I will keep watching! We are wondering how we're going to move up there and build on raw land as you guys are, logistically though because we've also gotta keep in mind we have two tortoises, 4 frogs, and a small tank of dwarf shrimp! The rv park is something we hadnt thought of.. maybe we could rent an rv somewhere to use for electricity and shelter for them while we build our place as well.

    • @OffGridWithGinaThi
      @OffGridWithGinaThi  Год назад

      I'm so glad this video was helpful! We know we were looking for people more local too... and definitely look at the RV idea... we found that renting an RV can be expensive but definitely look around and even buying a fixer upper sometimes is worth it like we did! Thanks for watching and sticking around! 🙂

    I glad I came across your channel in its early days and look forward to watching your future adventures. I too am seriously considering going off grid, but I don't think I will be able to do it at the current time. Have you guys considered making a smaller home before building your dream home?

      It's funny you mention that... we were just discussing today how our future home will look like. And yes, we most likely will build something smaller since we have a very modest budget. Glad you found us! We should have more videos up soon!

    Mould is a huge health problem. Ask Indigenous people. The older the homes the more mould due to the wetness. Try cedar flooring and walls? (old school) lol Long ago people would have cedar chests to preserve their clothes etc. Biblically cedar is exalted as an earthly thing. ie. the Cedars of Lebanon. We have 3 native kinds in Canada.
    Expensive stuff. If your husband can solve the mould issue cheaply, he could be rich. Developing a mould allergy is no joke. Blessings

    I have land around my land all is crown land I km all around how can make path or road. I don't use my land any possibility we can rent out its all big game hunting area. I bought 4 years ago thanks for all your information

    • @OffGridWithGinaThi
      @OffGridWithGinaThi  10 месяцев назад +1

      I know there are some who mention you can make a path or road through your property through crown land. We've never looked into it because we don't have to ... but we have already made trails from our property to crown land so we can go for walks. And we did see properties similar to yours when we looked for land. Thank you for watching!

  • @Jordan-pf9ws

    How did you find the land? Did you use a realtor or find it yourself? If you found it what websites did you use. I'm currently saving money to buy land but have no idea how to find it

    this is not wilderness it is private property. it is illegal to build any structure on crown land in Canada

    • @OffGridWithGinaThi
      @OffGridWithGinaThi  9 месяцев назад +1

      We never said we were building on crown land... not sure where you got that information from... we always said we purchased a property in the Canadian Wilderness... meaning in the forest... one of the definition wilderness:
      a wild and uncultivated region, as of forest or desert
