Every Babymetal song has its own choreography, used interpret the song for non-Japanese. All their choroephy is a work-out and they go hard for 60-90 minutes. Moametal (one with dimples and heart-stealing smile) said they worked hard on their core strength in preparation for 2023/24 tour of nearly 100 dates on four continents.

As far as their genre, it's a fusion of heavl metal and J-Pop which is called Kawaii Metal = Cute Metal. I just got my tickets for the Orlando show at Hard Rock Cafe in November. I can't wait.

Nice first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 You are right, you won't have heard anything quite like them, they pioneered their very own new sub-genre. It is a fusion of Metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics - including the choreographed dancing which is bespoke for every song. They call it Kawaii-Metal (kawaii meaning cute/adorable).
This video was filmed in December 2013 at their Legend 1997 concert - the lead singer was born in 1997, this was her 16th birthday party.
10 years on from this show (nearly 14 since they started in 2010) and they are one of the very best live acts on the planet.
They have about 70 songs, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but they will mix and blend so many different musical styles and genres with the metal, you will not be able to predict what they will do and they will constantly surprise you.

Nice intro reaction to Babymetal. This song is over 10 years old now and is largely responsible for putting Babymetal on the music radar of western ears. Babymetal are still going strong having done multiple world tours and with a loving fanbase of millions. I'd love to see you do another reaction. I'm always glad to see more reactors getting into this amazing group. They were rocking out the whole World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone were having a blast with the setlist, the new songs from latest album and the classic hits, especially GC! either you hate or love it, is a song with crazy amount of views and they don't wanna leave behind in any of their setlist just like they did last weekend at FOX_FEST Festival, they also played the new collab song they just recently released along with Electric Callboy called RATATATA, so highly suggest you to check that out while is hot.
Dance choreography and metal had never been seen before and they somehow managed to make it works creating their unique own genre called kawaii-metal, mixing Jpop and heavy metal along with many more sub genres and rhythms, you'll have so much fun going through this journey.
This isn't actually live sound, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. They have their own band called Kami Band introduced later on that same show and after that Kami Band become regular at live performance but they're not official members, only these trio are the front women.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for _"Babymetal Death"._
The backing band here are called "baby-bones", they don't actually play they're just mimicking air playing instrument, later on this same concert and after 2014 you'll see the girls performing with a real band called the Kami Band, more of them later.

If you plan to react to more it could be an idea to avoid "official" BM videos (unless recommended that is - there are some exceptions :P) - as they're often studio sound over a concert with no intro or crowd. They're really a LIVE band and the better for it. Great reaction to a song that is a little notorious for putting a few intitial reactors noses out of joint - in reality they have an insane range of styles and rarely if ever repeat anything obviously (even their own choruses often). MVs are generally good but then you hear the live version...............🤪 More pls :D
