He's absolutely right,I was homeless for five years, luckily myself and my best friend received help through Native American Connection and permanent supportive housing in Phoenix but it took us five years of homelessness and we are in a drug maintenance program,so we have been and still clean for over ten years without relapse:) yeah 👍 but unfortunately most of the other people in the same housing are not complying with sobriety:( they now are in housing but still using drugs and or alcohol! I feel it's not right because they are pretty much just taking advantage of the situation,it makes me very angry knowing that they received

I make $13.50hr and couldn't afford current rent prices. I dream of being able to buy RVs for those that are capable of maintaining one and Caballo Loco ranch is only $1,000 a YEAR. Im currently studying how to write grants so hopefully one day make my dream come true.
They should shut that whole city down and turn it into a ghost town. The worst ppl I've ever met live there and these ppl are actually dumb enough to live in a desert!

some of the homeless people here in Tucson have mental problems also and the cops are doing all that they could to help the homeless individuals here in tucson which is good i give them props for doing it most of these homeless individuals got animals for their emotional therapy pets and these shelters dont allow those types of pet in their shelters its sad that there is homeless here in tucson

Out of a 13 min 36 sec long segment about homeless people in Tucson -- 21 of those seconds was footage of a homeless person speaking for herself in her own words, and the other 13 minutes and 15 seconds was housed people (the reporter, police, & a county worker) talking about homeless people. The homeless woman speaking happens at 2:46 - 3:04 and then 3:18 - 3:21 Lmk if I missed any seconds? Either way its clear which voices are trying to be platformed here. Even if the segment is somewhat sympathetic to a "housing first" approach, it's obvious you aren't interested in letting homeless people speak for themselves about their own situation & circumstances. Their existence is stigmatized and criminalized and the fact that you won't give them a platform re-enforces this.
I have a good friend that’s homeless, he stays homeless because he doesn’t have any bills and gets high with whatever government assistance he gets. There’s help available, but most of them don’t care to use it because they can’t bring drugs to the shelters.

I was homeless in Phoenix and worked at the professional event stadiums, D-backs, Suns etc.and camped out for many years doing this. 2017 I got accepted into a section 8 housing voucher program and got housed as long as I could substantially do a third of my income as long as it was consistent.. The pandemic happened, and after a year anther management bought the apartments and that took me out of section 8 until I can find something. My point the pandemic has put many that got help back out there and also has made some the were never in a homeless situation homeless. This is just my opinion, but every big city almost has to have supportive income based housing because there are many credible jobs that just don't pay that kind of income with all expenses one acquires on a basic level of what they need to pay for/expenses.

I'm going to ask the homeless to look into the law of space parking and if it's only for car's. If it doesn't state it then find out how many time you have to move . In our state it's 72 hour's you can stay tell you have to slide your tent over I would park my ass in front of a officer home . I move up and down his street. This is a law so they can make up there law all they want I can so tell you how many homeless people are suing and wining but over $300,000.00 from there city get a Attorney if you can prove they stole private documents from your place of sleep sue.

Most homeless now have guns trust your head??. Your city put them there give them job's. My husband took ten homeless people into every business for a job not one is hiring then we filled a lawsuit against the city and won.

If they can't provide housing why not set up a campground like setting with bathroom and showers and then provide services from that area.

Keep it clean, stay out of sight, use services. AZ is much better than many cities like LA,NY where PD is always on you
