    Stunning, overwhelming Easy GOER. Passive little Shug clinging to Pat Day was a disgrace. Nothing sluggish about Easy GOER in the Classic that worm Pat Day took this gallant horse for a RIDE. CLUELESS JOCK made Easy GOER throw out FOUR MOVES vs SS in the Breeders Classic and still came like gangbusters. Anyone paying attention would no he was the best inspite of that tandem of Shug and Patsy. God Bless you Easy GOER.

    People forget Easy Goer also only had "13" days Rest Heading into The Derby and Crown...This was a Massive Performance considering the Circumstances...Rare good ride by Pat day aboard this Horse also...Sat Close...Did not lose ground...Stayed in 1 Position instead of making Multiple Moves in the same race as usual...Striking position and just wait and Pounce on the Turn

    The True Drug-Free Hall of Fame Champion Easy Goer was underrated & underhyped. No horse, like the True Drug-Free Hall of Fame Champion Easy Goer, could be that ran the fastest mile of all time by any 3 yr old in 1:32 right with Dr. Fager's world record mile; runs the 2nd Fastest Test of a Champion Belmont Stakes of all time behind only Secretariat; runs right on the 6.5f track record at age 2; runs the fastest 7f of the year in Florida; runs among the Top 5 Fastest All-Time runnings of the most prestigious, championship G1 races at 8f, 9f, 10f & 12f. The True Drug-Free Hall of Fame Champion Easy Goer won 14 races drug-free without any drugs, Easy Goer won 12 stakes races drug-free without any drugs, Easy Goer won 9 G1 races drug-free without any drugs at 7f, 8f, 9f, 10f & 12f with much less time & rest between races, & ran many more races in his career. Sunday Silence won 0 races drug-free without any drugs. EG 14, ss 0; EG 1, ss 0. Sunday Silence NEVER won a race, PERIOD, without performance enhancing drugs. Sunday Silence NEVER won a race, PERIOD, when forced to run drug-free without any drugs. Sunday Silence lost all races, PERIOD, when forced to run drug-free without any drugs. Sunday Silence NEVER won a major G1 race on bigger tracks with circumferences larger than 8f. Sunday Silence LOST 4 races on larger tracks with circumferences bigger than 8f. The drug-reliant & banned illegal criminal vet Alex Harthill-reliant sunday silence only beat the True Drug-Free Hall of Fame Champion Easy Goer by the slimmest of margins because ss was given the powerful, potent illegal performance enhancing drugs Clenbuterol, Sublimaze & Etorphine, plus the potent performance enhancing diuretic drug Furosemide/Lasix (6 length performance enhancement at longer, classic distances), etc. When ss was forced to run drug-free without any drugs in the only state in the entire country during that era which banned all drugs, & as importantly also banned ss's illegal criminal vet Harthill as well, ss not only got cremated by the True Drug-Free Hall of Fame Champion Easy Goer, but ss barely beat the claimer Le Voyageur. And Easy Goer was inducted in the Hall of Fame while doing it drug-free without any drugs in all of his races in his career; while the drug-reliant & banned illegal criminal vet Alex Harthill-reliant sunday silence did it with the illegal performance enhancing drugs Clenbuterol (an extraordinarily powerful performance enhancing drug), Sublimaze (an extraordinarily powerful performance enhancing drug; & significantly more powerful than aspirin bute) & Etorphine (an extraordinarily powerful performance enhancing drug; & significantly more powerful than aspirin bute), plus the powerful performance enhancing diuretic drug Furosemide/Lasix (6 length performance enhancement at longer, classic distances) & Banamine (5 times more powerful than aspirin bute), etc etc. Harthill admitted he gave the illegal performance enhancing drugs Clenbuterol, Sublimaze & Etorphine to sunday silence. Harthill was arrested, banned, suspended & fined numerous times in many states for giving many horses illegal performance enhancing drugs.
    In the Test of the Champion drug-free Belmont Stakes Easy Goer killed ss; like wheat separating from chaff, the cream rose to the top. Easy Goer ran drug-free in the only state in the entire country at the time which banned all drugs, which banned all performance enhancing drugs; while the drug-reliant & illegal criminal vet Alex Harthill-reliant ss got exposed badly & romped when he was forced to run drug-free with no-drugs at all. The Litmus Test of a Champion is running & winning drug-free without any performance enhancing drugs; & during that era New York was the only state in the entire country that banned all drugs. Plus, as importantly, NY banned the illegal criminal vet of ss Alex Harthill [arrested an endless amount of times for illegally drugging an endless amount of horses]. During that era, it was a huge credit to NY [& the rest of the whole world] that the endless amount of their championship G1 races stood as gigantic obstacles to drug-reliant horses like ss; & these horses, like ss & many others, got exposed badly when they were forced to run drug-free with no-drugs at all. ONLY no-drugs races were/are true championship races. Only no-drugs races could/can be called championship races. Only No-drugs races kept/keep the outcomes crystal clear. No-drugs races are the only true tests of champions. That is integrity, honesty, fair play & complete fairness for all. The True Drug-Free Hall of Fame Champion Easy Goer ran all of his races in his entire career drug-free without any drugs. Seth Hancock of Claiborne Farm said, "One of the many claims to fame for Easy Goer is, in an era of vast legal & illegal drug use, he ran his entire career drug-free in 20 starts for a total of well over 20 miles of racing." Claiborne Far,'s Gus Koch said, "From the day he was born, Easy Goer had a clubfoot, a crooked turned-out left knee, bad grapefruit sized ankles & knees, but he made up for it all by his exceptional balance, action & stride, & never ran on any drugs." McGaughey stated, "Easy Goer had these issues, but he had such an outstanding way of going that he'd glide so smoothly. The issues didn't really bother him, he was so muscular, strong & competitive, he'd run through brick walls, & I never ran him on any medications. He never needed them."

      @@geraldseckeler27 The True Drug-Free Hall of Fame Champion Easy Goer dusted the drug-reliant & banned illegal criminal vet Alex Harthill-reliant sunday silence on the track when ss was forced to run drug-free without any drugs in the only state in the whole country during that era which banned all drugs, & as importantly also banned ss's illegal criminal vet Alex Harthill as well. Alex Harthill admitted he gave ss the illegal performance enhancing drugs Clenbuterol, Sublimaze & Etorphine, plus Furosemide/Lasix (6 length performance enhancement), etc etc. Even with dying very young, Easy Goer dusted sunday silence in the breeding shed in the USA & Europe too. Easy Goer's progeny & descendants have won numerous G1 races in the USA & Europe. Even with dying very young, Easy Goer is in the blood/bloodlines of an enormous amount of G1 winners in the USA & Europe. Sunday Silence did NOT sire even ONE G1 winner in all of the USA & Europe, & many tried. Sunday Silence took over from Northern Taste & Tesco Boy as leading sire in the restricted, insular very big fish in very small pond Japan. The numerous attempts that have been made to propagate ss's line/bloodlines/influence outside the restricted, insular very big fish in very small pond Japan have had ZERO success, proving ss's worth outside the restricted, insular very big fish in very small pond Japan is ZERO.

      Dr. Harthill is also the pioneering veterinary surgeon that saved 2 year old champion Hoist The Flag. In March, 1971, the colt was at Bel where he was scheduled to run in the Gotham as a tune-up before the Derby. Following a five furlong workout, the colt took a misstep and broke his right hind leg in two places, suffering a shattered pastern and a fractured cannon bone that ended his racing career and put his life in jeopardy. Dr. Harthill performed a bone graft, using screws and metal plates to secure the breaks then created the first ever fiberglass cast to wrap around the horse's leg. While Hoist The Flag eventually recovered, in 2006, Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro would suffer a very similar injury but following surgery developed laminitis and had to be euthanized .
      In 2002 he resigned from an HBPA presidency because they didn't open enough with the proceeds from an OTB feed to a reservation's OTB feed.

  • @traviswest9388
    @traviswest9388 Год назад +4

    The use & abuse of drugs disgraced & dishonored the year of Sunday Silence. All should not bestow honors on drug-dependent horses. Even trainer Charlie Whittingham acknowledged his colt's impediments, & didn't run him in the Travers Stakes in view of the fact that he wouldn't have been able to utilize drugs there in New York. Sunday Silence, & many other horses, would never have made it minus drugs. Sunday Silence is a drug-dependent horse. ALL of his races IN 1989, EXCEPT the Belmont Stakes in New York, came with the benefit of various drugs, INCLUDING the diuretic DRUG FUROSEMIDE, which is a performance enhancer in many ways & can flush & mask the presence of many other illegal drugs in drug tests. Sunday Silence required the assistance of drugs to WIN his races, while he sustained a MONUMENTAL LOSS when he wasn't able to use the drugs. Because of Sunday Silence's advantage of drugs, all call into question his accomplishments as a horse. Sunday Silence, like Sunny's Halo, Spend a Buck, Gate Dancer & Wild Again before him, is a classic, illustrative example of why drugs & racing don't merge, especially at the sport's highest level. After his narrow drug-aided wins in the Kentucky Derby & Preakness, Sunday Silence went to New York in search of winning the Belmont Stakes & the Triple Crown. Because New York doesn't allow horses to run on any drugs -it's the only jurisdiction in America that doesn't-the suspicion was whether he could win without being given the drugs. It was a distressingly captivating matter in question, which served to remove the Triple Crown of the excitement & allure it has always had. Sunday Silence got overwhelmed in the Belmont, finishing a widening 8 lengths behind Easy Goer. Sunday Silence required the assistance of drugs to WIN his races, while he sustained a monumental loss when he wasn't able to use the drugs. Even trainer Charlie Whittingham acknowledged his colt's impediments, & didn't run him in the Travers Stakes in view of the fact that he wouldn't have been able to utilize drugs there in New York. No wonder so many in New York condemn the usage of drugs. Sunday Silence, & many other horses, would never have made it minus drugs. The use & abuse of drugs disgraced & dishonored the year of Sunday Silence. All should not bestow honors on drug-dependent horses." DRF Jan 90 Mike Watchmaker.

    This type of Dominating Performance is what people Expected entering the Triple Crown...Easy Goer was just incredible when he was on which was most of his Career...No Horse could Dominate Easy Goer the way he could Dominate them...Losing the Classic by a Neck was his Worst defeat...Was Sluggish most of the Race...Connections talked about not running him in that Race as he was Training Very poorly coming into the Race...Had a Month off but i wonder if that long Grueling Historic campaign before the Classic took a lot out of him...Sunday Silence was lightly Raced coming into the Classic and fresh...Pat Day still pushed the button too late though

    "Racing should be filled with SUPERIOR horses like EASY GOER, who did NOT require ANY drugs to perform at his best, & NOT INFERIOR DRUG-RELIANT horses like SUNDAY SILENCE. Could Sunday Silence beat Easy Goer without drugs? Could Sunday Silence win without drugs? He gave definitive & assertive replies to the questions: NO. Sunday Silence struggled home edging Le Voyageur but was thoroughly beaten, as the splendid Easy Goer sprinted off with the Belmont Stakes. Sunday Silence had been TREATED WITH DRUGS in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness & Breeders' Cup Classic when edging Easy Goer, but couldn't for the Belmont Stakes in New York, the one state where all drugs are banned. Easy Goer was free from all of the controversies about drugs, for ALL DRUGS are prohibited in New York, as they are in the rest of the racing world outside the US. The key questions that influenced racing all year was: Could Sunday Silence beat Easy Goer without drugs? Could Sunday Silence win without drugs? He gave definitive & assertive replies to the questions: NO. Sunday Silence struggled home edging Le Voyageur but was thoroughly beaten, as the splendid Easy Goer sprinted off with the Belmont Stakes. Racing should be filled with SUPERIOR horses like EASY GOER, who did NOT require ANY drugs to perform at his best, & NOT INFERIOR DRUG-RELIANT horses like SUNDAY SILENCE, so we focus our attention on the sport instead of drugs. Racing wears drugs like festering, self-inflicted wounds on the end of its nose opened by the ax of greed & stamped with the endorsements of every racing commission in the nation except New York's. Racing's drug dependency, like any drug problem, has become a major problem & tarnished the sport. It is to New York's merit & acclaim that their major races stand as giant hurdles to drug-reliant horses. Winning major races on drugs is not what racing is about." Paul Moran of DRF, LA Times & Newsday.
