I'm not a fan of the CCP, but e-bikes use power that also gets taxed. You could argue that this will drive up demand for cars or push for robots, but it's a "if they dont have bread then they should eat cake" situation, because the officials who are loaded think that they just have to make people buy cars and cant understand that the people couldnt even afford what you just took from them.

@@DreaMeRHoLic Cars ruin cities, but the development of car-centric infrastructure in China, and individuals buying cars drove up GDP, and looked advanced to the Chinese government, who are really concerned how they are perceived by the world, even though it was the road to ruin, pun intended. The Chinese could have bypassed that development, and had 21st century cities with unbelievable transit and narrow roads for personal transport vehicles, but they choose 19th century cities. Noisy and clogged with traffic congestion. Imagine thinking that's better than an ebike?

Crying is somewhere in the middle.

-Chinese 🇨🇳 property Ponzi sector, which accounts for 30% of GDP, is crashing
-Tofu Exports and Western imports, accounting for 37% GDP, are down.
-Foreign investment is falling over 90% compared to it's peak in 2018.
-Foreign visitors are down 96% compared to the pre-pandemic level in 2019 with less than 200 americans left.
-Consumer prices and pay are experiencing hyperstagdeflation while necessities are undergoing hyper flation.

-It's fast shrinking workforce is 10 years old than neighboring countries.

      - It has printed more money than the US and Japan combined, while it's economy is only half of them.
      - Current Chinese debt-to-gdp is already highest in the world, at 300%, according to Bloomberg.
      - This is a macroeconomic nightmare created by the party going way back in 1994 when they took the Tofu money off the international exchange. Now in 2024, the banks and the average little pink have no idea what is the ACTUAL value of anything within the country. Any stimulus from the Central state. will be meaningless and ineffectual because the Central Bank is a part of the Party. Thereby merging both fiscal Central and monetary private policies into one ongoing disaster. Local province officials were doing stimulus spending for decades in tandem of the "Economic Miracle" which will undermine any Central stimulus during an actual depression/recession or more accurately.. HYPERSTAGDEFLATIONARY NIGHTMARE.
-- in the future house prices will drop to 10%, youth unemployment will be over 90%+ without streams, and middle class people over 35 will all be laid off with pays trimmed in half.

That is your challenge for the future (will you own a trash house with the mortgage?). Pensions will be laundered and your daily pay will be 1-2 dollars while you drink Poop Water and eat gasoline cooking oil while the Party and Porkpooh eat Tegong Special food supplies.

It's simple. So long as the CCP has the police and army under its control, mass rebellion is impossible. The CCP has been very careful about one thing, by and large only the ones on THEIR side have guns. Calling for revolution sounds great, but successful revolutions generally require those rising up to have at least SOME ability to effectively fight back. You either need to have some level of armament or be so numerous that your opponents can't kill all of you without destroying themselves. Those opposing in China don't have the former, and there is now a big question if they still have the latter. When the statement "They can't kill all of us" can be accurately replied to with "Uh, yes they can," you are in a very different situation. To give your life for freedom is one thing, but to give your life for absolutely nothing is another. In China an individuals life really DOES mean so little they can wipe out all dissidents and not suffer much. The moment they work out something like human cloning (assuming they haven't already) they could basically kill off the entire population and not really suffer long term.

What was also strange to me was that even the e-bikes that were on the campus, contracted by a private contractor for student use, was required to put helmets on the bikes. The students never used the helmets, and at one point, security was required to stop students from riding the bikes tandomly - if two people were on a bike, they'd force them to stop and make one of them get off. Very strange.

When I was in China, I worked at a university. This situation is a lot older than this segment shows - in fact, I want to say that China started doing this nonsense more than a year ago.
But anyway, I purchased a three wheeled bike for riding on the university campus. My university's security guards saw me and even though I did not speak a lot of Chinese, they made it clear to me that I should not drive my bike off of the campus. Even if I had gotten an actual license plate to drive outside of campus, there was still a chance that it would be confiscated.
Even the bikes on campus were not immune to confiscation, though. AT the end of the year, the security guys were tasked with collecting anything that looked like it did not belong to anyone. There was a sea of regular two-wheeled bikes and some ebikes. I was lucky.

The producer pay taxes and provide employment, so they can’t be arrested but for the consumer, you may buy another one thus it’s alright to catch the consumer. Weird logic or you can say this logic with CCP characteristics.

What is wrong with regulating motorized or electric vehicles on public roads. In Europe, everyone is registered and the rider needs an A category to ride a motorized bike, whether it's electric or internal combustion, it doesn't matter. If it is in traffic and has an engine, it should be regulated.

They aren't banning ebikes. They're banning ebikes that don't meet the regulations. As usual this channel only gives half the info.
Ebikes/scooters must meet certain criteria for size, power, max speed, pedals (they are a type of assisted bicycle) etc..
The idea that the government wants to ban all ebikes to push people into cars is totally absurd.
