When Dhoni became captain he had all resources handy - support of senior players, loads of gifted youngsters and one of the best selection committee (after 2008) When Dada became captain, there was fire everywhere. Team had all the firepower and yet it kept losing. Dada taught the team that polite team how to give an eye to eye. He instigated the fire, he taught India again to win. No doubt Dada will be the greatest captain despite what the numbers say.

Such an indomitable personality he was, it was really painful to see him being sidelined because of personal animosity that Greg Chapple had against him. Having watched him leading the team to some of the most memorable wins in the cricket history, it was hard to believe that his career was to fall with a huge thud like that. But that single opportunity allowed him to claw back into the position which rightfully belonged to him which somewhat revived the spirit of Indian cricket which was staring down the barrel. He proved his mettle as one of the topmost batsman and player, an astute captain, a consummate motivator and now as an administrator with tremendous acumen.
It happened 15yrs before and for me it feels like yesterday, i remember everything about this drama, we used to discuss about this in school ohh man what a memorable school time that was 😔😔
सब याद दिला दिया आपने.... दादा की कप्तानी छिनने से पहले दादा के टीम की हालत बहुत खराब थी, ११ खिलाड़ियों में से ज्यादातर मैच सचिन सहवाग और हरभजन सिंह के कंधों पर होता था बॉलिंग में इरफान पठान और जहीर खान अच्छा कर रहे थे लेकिन बड़ी टीम के खिलाफ ये लोग विवश नजर आते थे, ऊपर से चैपल इरफान पठान को ऑलराउंडर बनाने की जिद पर लगे थे, भारत की बॉलिंग शुरू से ही चिंता का विषय रही थी और बैटिंग अच्छी रही ऐसे में पठान एक उम्मीद बनकर आए थे लेकिन चैपल ने पठान को भी बैट्समैन बनाने का प्रयास किया कभी ओपनिंग में भेजते कभी वन डाउन पर पठान ने बैटिंग में अच्छा किया भी, लेकिन बॉलिंग का लेवल गिर गया । टेस्ट में सेहवाग सचिन लक्ष्मण और द्रविड़ अच्छा करते तो टीम जीत जाती या ड्रॉ खेल जाती एक दो लोग फ्लॉप हुए तो टीम हार जाती थी। खुद दादा का फॉर्म इतना खराब था कि एक कि बार बार निराश करते थे जनता उनसे इतना दुखी और नाराज़ हो गई थी कि कई लोग गांगुली को अंडे फेक के मार के बाहर भगाने तक की बात बोल देते थे। चैपल ने इसका फायदा उठाया और द्रविड़ को भी कप्तानी की भूख जगी, क्रिकेट की दीवार कहे जाने वाले द्रविड़ उन दिनों गोल्डन डक होने लगे लगातार क्लीन बोल्ड होने लगे इसलिए लगातार मैच हारने का सिलसिला रुक ही नहीं पाया और अन्त में दादा बाहर बिठा दिए गए। उस मुझे भी लगता था गांगुली टीम में क्यों है बार बार आउट हो जाते हैं किसी और को मौका देना चाहिए । लेकिन जब दादा चले गए और चीजें और भी बदतर होने लगीं, चैपल का असली चेहरा सामने आ गया पहले वो हर हार के लिए गांगुली पर आरोप लगते थे अब गांगुली नहीं रहे तो किस पर लगाएं फिर उल्टे सीधे बयान देकर खुद एक्सपोज हो गए । फिर वो एड और गांगुली के वापसी की दुआ करते लोग। क्या शानदार वापसी की थी दादा ने वापसी के बाद लगातार अर्ध शतकों का ढेर लगाया, टेस्ट में एक दोहरा शतक भी जड़ा इसके अलावा बेहतरीन बॉलिंग भी किया बड़े बड़े सूरमाओं को पवेलियन चलता किया। फिर आईपीएल में कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स के कप्तान बने ये नाम उनके ही सम्मान सम्मान में टीम को मिला था ( शाहरुख खान दिल्ली से हैं )। दादा ने हमें सिखाया कि हमें अन्त वैसे नहीं होने देना है जैसे लोग चाहते हैं, बल्कि वैसे करना है जैसे हम चाहते हैं । चाहे खेल हो या जीवन। सैल्यूट है दादा आपको, लव यू । 🙏🙏 सल्यूट है दादा आपको

I still remember that Odi where he barely missed his century by 2 runs, but surely wins the hearts of all his fans who want him to score 23rd century/ runs since the 2003 World Cup semifinals. .
