wings does not straighten with lift... it is a cambered wing which you need to be at an angle of attack even at non-flight. In order to generate lift and to continue to generate lift you need to be at a certain lift coefficient, Cl. You need maximum thrust at takeoff to generate enough lift to get if off the ground and at cruise you need your lift and weight to be balanced or at equilibrium, like I said, with a cambered wing you're at an angle of attack which helps maintain equilibrium at lift to weight ratio at cruise level....

Amazing!! One thing I noticed: When static, the wings droop down. When in flight the wings are straight - no dihedral. Did you notice that?
Wings in all planes are flexible and bend upwards during takeoff due to the lifting force the air produces against them pushing the entire aircraft up
Yoseob Yang not as noticable as the 225 though
When wings drooping down it is anhedral. Wings above horizontal is dihedral. She has a lot of anhedral when on the ground
I was wondering why it looked so impressive in flight.
Typical Antonov design features anhedral wings. Provides airspeed advantage.

Not necessarily! You can make any cupboard fly by mounting powerful engines on it. Some indefinite non aerodynamic surface will be enough for it. See also knife edge flight without using any wings.
The sound it makes is as incredible as it's appearance!
Imagine the fuel consumption... Like, per second!
Ajax pounds not gallons. Pounds
@@chaist94 Inb4 concorde engines.
Ajax It costs roughly 30,000 dollars an hour to fly this behemoth
@@tylerbrick6847 How far can it fly before refueling?
it can hold 661,000lbs of fuel with a range of 9,600miles, 1 gallon of jet fuel is 6.7lbs, so that equals 98656.7 gallons of fuel, miles/gallons equates to .097 miles per gallon
I live in the approach path of Rwys 8 and 9 of IAH, and have had the 124s overfly my house, several times, but never has the 225 been here. I keep waiting.
Wish I could travelling with this huge airplane someday 😍😍
Welp!

There is exactly ONE of them.
Eu não me canso de ver esse gigante do céu.
