It is becoming more and more important to protect your privacy online. This can easily be done using a VPN. A VPN allows you to stay anonymous and stay safe online.
The 3 VPN's that i personally recommend are IPvanish, NordVPN & Cyberghost . Please see below for links to their websites.

Topman. If more people watched your video's they would learn so much. The amount of people I know who believe downloading is totally different streaming is freighting and were willing to argue the fact as well... I will forward this video onto them with a smile on my face :-)
Well that was the reason for the video as i was getting a lot of comments to suggest otherwise so thought time to clear things up
Finally, that's cleared up !
I was never really sure.
Thanks.
No problem at all buddy
Great video. I explain it to people all the time who don't understand. Some of the Developers are now making some of the add-ons so you can watch stuff without the cache', just direct play
its still downloading though . without cache its just going to a location on the hard drive.
TT,
No one provides info and especially useful info like you. Steven C (another YTbr) is close, but you are tops. Tks!!! for all you do.
Thankyou ! Yeh steven is a good guy 👍
Thanks for the info TT. Much appreciated. Thanks for all you do brother. Keep up the AWESOME work. Love your videos. Keep them coming
No problem mate 👌
Good info, I download to my phone because bad WiFi at work, but always with a VPN.
Always delete after watching.
Thanks for the info TT
Great information...had to learn years ago. Thank you TT 👍👍👍
No problem Alicia!
Awesome as per usual TT. Always the main man for information.
Thanks mate !
Good piece of information. Certainly makes things a lot clearer for me now. Thanks TT!
No problem buddy!
What costs more data. 360p streaming or 360p downloading?
It’s great that TT is there to help people understand simple things most RUclipsrs don’t go in to as much detail. Thanks for another great video 👍🏻
No problem buddy. Just trying to clear it all up :)
Just thought I’d ask not a related issue have you had any comments or emails regarding the new XS and XS Max dropping signal even when it shows 4G or connected to WiFi. I’m experiencing it on my XS Max I can load a page and nothing it just pauses even if your on a page and just want to go back for example might make a good video see if others are having the same issue. I’m going to speak with UK support and see where that gets me, will update in due course.
I think I saw some other RUclipsrs post about it . I don't have one to test buddy
Let me know if you figure it out though
Will do mate not seen anything yet other than forums thought I’d let you know 👍🏻
Thank you TT, very informative video! Most helpful 👍🍻😁
No problem mate!
00:00 📥 Downloading and streaming are often confused: Both involve acquiring content from the web; streaming involves temporary files in your cache, while downloading saves the entire file.
01:10 📄 Copyright concerns: Streaming involves temporary or partial copies, while downloading creates a full copy. Both have implications for copyright infringement, though temporary copies are often considered differently.
02:05 🌐 Torrents and copyright issues: Torrents involve both downloading and distributing, which raises legal concerns. Uploading while downloading from multiple peers can lead to legal repercussions, especially with copyrighted content.
03:14 🛡 VPN usage: Using a VPN can reduce the likelihood of legal notices, especially while using torrents. Accessing copyrighted content without a VPN increases the chances of receiving notifications from ISPs.
04:11 💬 Clarification and questions: Video serves to clarify the differences between downloading, streaming, and using torrents. Encourages viewers to ask questions or seek further information in the comments.
Outstanding explanation! Thanks for the information mate.
No problem buddy 👍
Yet another good piece of information
Thanks mate 👍
If video were skipped, does it use same amount of data?
Top man top channel as always thanks mate 😀
Thanks mate 👍
Hi T.T. As always, you did a great job on the video. There are a couple of people that produce RUclips videos that I believe to be credible and it is their opinion that streaming in the US is not illegal at this point in time. They do, however, advise against downloading without using a VPN. They also say that it's okay to stream without using a VPN. They also advise using paid services that download the material to their servers and then allow you to use their servers to view content. If anyone knows anything different please post. Even though I'm told it's okay to stream, I still use a VPN.
From what i have read on US law its still illegal so not sure what part of the law they are reffering to. It makes no difference where its coming from in terms of legality. The only thing that matters really is SSL over unsecure streams.
Very useful. Thank you.
No problem at all 👌
Thanks bro nice info
Great video mate everyone should be clear on this now. 👍👍👍
Hopefully :)
Soo if i download it takes 2 gb but if i strean it takes 1 gb about 1 gb
I dont understand that
If i just stream operator take less
Am i wrong?
Great video. Thanks
No problem 👍
I have been doing this for as long as I can remember now, I didn't know any of it was illegal until a few weeks ago, does this mean I could get into trouble with the police for watching movies and TV shows online free? I use sites like dailymotion and used to use kimcartoon and watchcartoononline..
Great information thanks for the review.
No problem 👍
Great video 👍👍👍👍
Have you put tape on your webcam Squiffy
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Haha yeh no spying!
I know this is off topic but do you know if any sports replay addons that work?
I been tried to explain this to so many ppl but couldn’t have done better like you bud!
Thanks mate, Got tired of typing the same thing again and again in the comments lol
ive been downloading 13-14 years downloaded 1000s of movies and games and music not once got any kind of letter
Nice one TT
Thanks mate!
Good explanation thx
No problem mate!
Renting vs Owning basically.
Yep. I misunderstood. Thanks.
No problem buddy :) Just clearing it up
Yeah I agree I was just surprised that nobody was doing videos on it yesterday I figured would be the Talk of the Town you know terrarium TV still alive
Still allive but its slowly dying as no one is updating the scrapers :(
Good video for the uniformed.
Thanks buddy!
Thank you
You're Welcome! Thankyou for watching :)
Good information.
Thank you
What up TT
..me coming here for answers as the video downloads, lol
What about data consumption brother?
I am having issues with buffering, for example on Cinema & was wondering if downloading say a movie before I watch it, will that fix the buffering? Also is there any other negatives to downloading? Can I just clear stuff after I've watched it? Sorry I'm new to all this. Thank you
downloading will stop buffering as you then have the file locally :) only other negative is that it will take up hard drive space
Thank you for the great info.👍👍👍👍
No problem buddy!
Good informative video bro 👍
Thanks mate!
Keep it simple! If you are streaming, then there might be buffering involved. With downloading, the buffering is gone, even if they are both called downloading.
Yes just a lot of people think streaming isn't downloading . That was the reason for the video
Good video. The only time I ever got a infringement email was when I torrented porn... 😂
Lol 😂
Great video. I love your channel. I have the tea tv apk and wanted to know if I download a movie instead of just streaming it does that mean I can watch later on without internet access? Also most apks offer you the option of downloading as well as streaming it in real time. what is the advantage of downloading as opposed to just watching it when you are ready. Thank you for your help
Yes you can watch it offline. The advantage of downloading is that you can watch it when you have no internet. or if your internet is too slow to stream
Good vid TT
Thanks mate!
Been doing this for four years without vpn and have never received a letter knock on wood!!!
Some get lucky some don't lol
A letter for what?
Got a questions even if you use a vpn once a court ask that vpn company for data I am very sure all personal info will be given to court with or without vpn. So whats the point using vpn anyway. In this time an age notthing is private or safe. There are so many other ways court will track you down for sure.
If the vpn has a 0 log policy then there is no info to hand over . They know it was their IP that did whatever but they have no details of what user it was . All there is addresses are shared between all users so there is no way to know
If you don't have logs you can't tell what user committed the offence using the vpn IP address
What is the name and artist of the sample you’re playing in this video? It’s smooth!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
i'll try and find it. Can't remember off the top of my head lol.
Good deal.. thanks
I have a question. In my LAN Sharing network (no internet) I shared my video. Would you prefer 50 clients stream the video at the same time or copy the video at the same time? Which one is more likely to bottleneck the LAN?
So which uses less data streaming or downloading ? Feel like u didn't answer the question , just said streaming is still downloading but is it the same amount ?
absolutely streaming use less data that downloading
Use A VPN 👏
My only issue I have with VPN (I've a paid one) is that your connection speed gets throttled from it. I've done the speed tests 😭
For what
👍👍nice info....
Q::now Morpheus and Terrarium have gone what would you say is as good for a replacement??Obviously not torrent...?..keep up the work TT....
They are both still around just not updated. Kodi has always been better than both of them
Kodi all the way much better 👊👊👊👊
What's your opinion on movie play red and cyber Flix 2 which are clones of terrarium TV?
A clone is a clone . Its exactly the same as the original
I dont understand can someone make conclusion please sorry im not understand english well
data is data it is that simple
Is this still truue in 2022?🤔
so what should i do watch online or download it
Download
Should give quick summary in description plz
Summary is basically streaming is still downloading. But its temporary and files are overwritten afterwards
😒 if ur at work use a vpn on ur work network, they can legally fire u for not being political correct 😒
You can get fired for anything these days
@@tttechnology 😒 its creepy af, at my corp job, theres free wifi but u have to accept their terms of service, its a really long list of SJW soviet north korea style political Donts! 😱👽😈
Is the data used the same as streaming vs downloading?
yes
@@tttechnology what about streaming the same video twice online vs watching an already downloaded video offline?
I read on several youtube channels and some other forums, as far as the current state of Law in The United States, the law makes a different distinction from the technical distinction between downloading and streaming. Again, law vs technical distinction. Just want to make that clear because the laws outside of the USA can be and probably are different. Our Congress tried to pass a bill to make streaming illegal, but it was never voted on. Assuming this Wikipedia article is up to date, it might actually be legal in the United States to stream as of the present moment. But that might change in the future. Senate house bill S978 was never voted on and passed as a law. *I am not very knowledgeable about our laws so if anyone has any expertise in this area, please chime in. I would love to hear your opinions regarding the attached Wiki link* P.S. I'm just pointed out how the law see this issue, not how computer scientist see it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_S.978
although it does say in wikipedia under current law, unauthorized streaming is only a misdemeanor
But again thats commercial so doesnt say for personal . but if its against the law for one it must be for the other
TT The phrase *_"... for the purpose of "commercial advantage or personal financial gain"_* had me confused. Who would be liable, the site streaming the content, or the enduser viewing the stream? I found this webpage from a legal consulting firm in the U.S. The very last sentence means the streamer, not the end-user would be liable. *_"The law is targeted at websites that provide access to the illegal streams rather than the people who watch."_* It's confusing but I think this website clears things up, at least for Americans. info.legalzoom.com/copyright-law-streaming-ppv-events-21768.html
Yeh it would be case specific per judge as anyone streaming has personal gain . If they stream for years that personal gain then becomes a large number in terms of value
perhaps, but it would be nearly impossible to track personal gain from thousands if not millions of people over a long period of time. Much easier to track the sites distributing the content.
Strongly disagree. Download = Sending a request for a file and receiving the file. Streaming = Sending a request for data and it is sent to your computer. Non-stop. There is no file. There is no end until you stop the stream or the host stops the stream. A RUclips video is a file. It is not streamed. It is just downloaded in chunks until you have the whole file - even if an additional (and completely unneeded) algorithm deletes the beginning of the file to "make room" for the end of the file. It is not streaming. Twitch, on the other hand, is streamed. There is no file being downloaded. You can't jump to the beginning of the stream (unless it's recorded, then it's a file!), you just "tune in". Streaming is like watching Over-the-air TV.
Which of them consumes more data
Streaming
If it's to good to be good it usually, says it all.. Torrents = vpn.
yeh vpn is a wise idea for torrent users
STICKS...ITS BLOODY STICKS...IM GOING TO BE A BILLIONAIRE 12:43 WED 12 JUNE
Don't say bad about torrent
RD uses a encrypted connection, so...
True, if you have it switched on. It is important to get into the account settings and verify the download port is set to secure downloading. Many browsers today, however, force SSL encryption as a default which is a good thing. real-debrid.com/account
What about using it in Kodi? The links are streamed over a encrypted connection also correct?
Not sure. That same question popped into my mind as well. 😕
ok without a VPN you download Jurassic world and I'll stream it. Let's see who gets a letter.
It's the same thing . Think about it, you are downloading the same file whatever you do so to your isp it looks exactly the same
Don't agree, If they was the same they would be called one or the other not Download and Streaming, different things have different names, I've never heard of anyone being charged by the law for streaming something.
First you need to establish what it is you are talking about. This video talks about data coming 'from the web' to you device. Whereas content from a streaming service for instant playback is handled WHOLE lot different than making a binary copy of the file.
If you ever streamed content from a Download server you'll have noticed this is much less responsive because many packets will not have the media metadata to start playing from an exact frame of GOP as you would with streaming media.
If you download from a streaming service with the intent of storing a local copy, your device also has a lot more work to do reassembling the file. It's more akin to using a torrent download, not a sequential download.
👀👀
👍
Fyi: terrarium tv still working
Yep looks like the code going to their guthub wasn't required for it to run 👍 it will slowly get worse and worse till it's dead with no scrapers updates though
Again time will tell look at Morpheus still running strong and it hasn't had any updates for quite some time and I have to admit it's operating better than terrarium in bringing up links. Keep up the good work
Yeh Morpheus is also finished . Because they are multiscraper I would expect them to work for 6 months well then start to slowly die
Duh
Not everyone was very clear on it so thought I would make it more understandable
add more explanation on downloading you tube videos on how much data is consumed.
video size = data consumed + a bit extra for the ads etc
No. You're confusing your audience. Don't do it. 👎
The simple explanation . Streaming and downloading are exactly the same from the looks of your isp
