I am German in California with a Nigerian boyfriend. He wanted me to visit Nigeria but I refused in the beginning because of all the things you hear in the press.
But after time I have changed my view and would like to visit. But I see so much trash and plastic laying on the street. And they burn trash in the garden. This gives me more anxiety. What is Ghana doing regarding Pollution and Trash? Do you think Nigeria might be a totally different case than Ghana? We are also trying to find a place for our future. Any thoughts? Thank you.
I love your videos. I feel like I am sitting there with you and having wholesome conversations. Love you guys❤️

I really can't speak for Nigeria and the style of living there as nothing can be generalised. Like Ileen said, have an open mind, drop your biases and experience a place for yourself before you decide whether or not it's for you. Pollution is an issue everywhere and the management of it differs from place to place. I hope you give yourself the chance to at least experience it first

Ghana is much safer, although GH and Nigeria are intolerant and fanatical religious countries, oddly enough after indoctrination into the slave master's religion. GH has several specific initiatives to clean up the streets. Nigeria has a massive population compared to GH and vastly higher violent crime. Don't invite any friends who are LGBT in Ghana they will lock them up 10 years, possible mob violence, and in Nigeria in the north the Muslims will kill them. Coming from the US or EU, you will find both countries nosey, intolerant, and parochial, and boring after the initial novelty wears off and you quickly exhaust anything interesting and realize the one dimensionality of the people and place. Not all people of course, but it's predominant. The GH people seem to have more of a hangover of the British colonial stuffiness. Nigerians are notorious scammers. But these are stereotypes and I have very awesome friends in both countries. My African American wife could not relate well with most locals, and her cousin had to leave for safety.

Ghanaian scholarship students are being suspended at Universities in the US and EU for violent messages and threats against LGBT. Two have lost their scholarships and will be deported. What a shame on Ghana.
