I charged my S7 edge yesterday till 75% percent, I left it turned on when I was sleeping, the next morning the battery was at 74%. I charged it till 100% in the morning and went to school, I played some games, took some videos and photos, after one day of use, from 9:15 in the morning till 14:10, it was at 40%. Now, 3.5 hours later, it's at 36%.
Samsung did a very good job with the battery! =D

+MegaRed Kenta Date You're being ignorant. It is the best phone available right now and rightfully so. Amazing battery life, camera, processor(s), and charging. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6s Plus takes over 160 minutes to charge. The S7 can charge wirelessly faster than any other phone, it is basically almost as fast as its wired charging.
If the phone heats up from intense gaming, can't you just dunk it in some cold water for 5 seconds? lol

I love this feature. My old phones were awful when my hands were wet, the screen would go all over the place. Now with my s7 it seems to recognize fingerprints much better..

If iPhones were really that underpowered, it would've been revealed by now, but tests frequently show the opposite--nearly every iteration of the iPhone consistently outperforms comparable Android counterparts.

i had iPhone 5c before the s7 edge. No, the interface on s7 edge was really simple for me just like iphone. Some people say its complicated but i thought it was much easier than iPhone such as transferring files and music was so much easier. i definitely recommend s7 over the iphone.

do note the fact that the iphone 5 is the last good 4.0 inch screen phone. Everything else is huge compared to it now.

Oh yeah that's true I wasn't caught up with that release. But my point is that for anyone "upgrading" from the iPhone 5 to a bigger phone, they sometimes don't realize that they might actually prefer a 4 inch phone.

I think I had the same Note series as you did. It is dumb of me to think that it will never happen to me but I can't take my chances with a newborn in the house. But as I look at the phones that are out there, there really isn't a stand out device out there yet. I would have gotten an iPhone but they died with Steve Jobs in my personal opinion.
Me too, same boat. I'm just crushed I have to say goodbye to my precious Note7 but I'd rather not risk it as well. Woke up the other day because of sudden weird sounds. Glad it wasn't my phone blowing up lol. Now checking out my choices for phones and seems like the S7 Edge is the best replacement.. until the Note8 comes out. Hope Samsung learns from this huge debacle and come out with an amazing new phone.

I feel like I just betrayed someone but I had to just return the Note 7 and replace it with the S7 Edge. I would be really annoyed when thr S8 comes out and cannot upgrade. Having a newborn in the house and a potential explosive isn't safe, obviously.

The phone is only 6 months old, even if I bought it now (I am about to buy it) and they surprise launched the S8 I wouldn't be disappointed. It's a killer phone and I plan on using it for at least 2 years. I've been using my iPhone 5 for 4 years now so I can see myself getting similar use out of this phone, especially with the expandable storage which I love (and don't expect to be in the S8, also worried they'll remove the headphone jack.)

The only issues holding me back on the S7 is Samsung's bloatwear and the fact that it's difficult to keep an up to date version of android. The HTC 10 really caught my eye but my provider(AT&T) doesn't offer it so I'd have to spring for the unlocked version.

It's probably because of the Touchwiz launcher. Once you install another launcher you'll run smooth.

She's not worrying. She just doesn't want to have a laggy phone. It's not a matter of "saving you from a situation". It's a matter of your phone not stuttering and lagging every time you swipe to a different screen. Playing games at 30fps or 60fps instead of 15fps won't save you from anything. But it's more enjoyable.

Consider whether you feel you need the s-pen and the eye recognition unlocking thing, if you dont you may aswell get the s7 edge

I switched from my iPhone 6 to an s7 edge. I have to say I'm impressed with its screen and camera (though it's a bit overrated for its low light cabalities) performance is better with nougat (which I got late). The only thing I miss its the more soft home button and the simplicity. The thing that annoys me most with s7 edge is that I tab many times the back and multitasking buttons making me quit things. Overall a great device for power users, but if you are coming from iPhone get the pixel xl
How many others have a problem with the s7 edge? Since Sept we have been dealing with Samsung since one phone on my plan overheated and melted itself to the case. Warning screens not to use the phone, turn it off now. Cord that came with it is burnt and half the screen is burnt. Sprint would not replace it said it was a product defect and Samsung had to replaced. Samsung-no phones because they have to replace all Note7's. Then they say send proof of purchase, we sent screen shots of the messages on phone. Could only charge for five minutes at a time. Samsung comes up with a new excuse every time the last employee received everything. Now it has been told they are going to refund the money within 24-48 hours which has been said for approx 4 weeks now. Person has a broken neck and stress halts the healing process and they never call back and we have to call for hours on end with them swearing it will be taken care of but once again, no calls and we have to call again wasting hours of our time! They say they care about their customers and their safety!! I think they need to change their policy and procedures and actually live by them. Everyone of their employees tells you something different and when they tell you they are noting the file...guess what?? It is far and few between that they do. Sprint is no better--they lie and tell you they are checking with the supervisor and then they don't call you back so you get to call them again and start from scratch again. They should have replaced the phone a long time ago. One said go to sprint and they will give you an IPhone since it was the only one similar in value. Why don't they be made to pay our Sprint bill when we have basically no phone to use??? Then you get to call and fight with Sprint over that one. Now, my 3 week old--new phone lost the screen, 10 days without a phone and they give me back a refurbished phone that they said had a motherboard problem. I still have to pay the bill when I have no product to use. Mine now overheats. Are they waiting for the next case of someone being injured by their mistake. they do not care about anyone, only their pockets. I hope Samsung can afford to pay out for all the lawsuits headed their way because they are not doing what they claim. I guess next resort on Monday is to call the news stations and attorney about a product liability case. Maybe a judge will order punitive damage to teach them a lesson too. I figure they will pay to have my post removed because that is what they do. Anyone find it funny that on several of the news reports they show an S7 or S7Edge and talk about the Note 7?? You go into the Sprint store and this is all they are talking about and noone, not Samsung or Sprint is doing anything for anyone. Has anyone had better luck and where did you go through to get it resolved. I find it best to let them know you are recording the conversation because even if you don't go to court you can call the local news station/paper and play it for them to show your proof!! Please let me know if you have received any valid resolution.

I really appreciate this review. I've had my Note Edge for a year and a half now, and I adore it, but it's had some major battery issues lately, so I need to replace it. But, my carrier's insurance doesn't stock it, so they're gonna send me this instead. It's good to know that even though I'm losing the stylus and some camera megapixels, it's not a complete downgrade for me.

+SemtexGames Stop buying Sony crappy smartphones. The Z5 doesn't use gorilla glass like Samsung phones and many others and are too fragile to use. The screens crack in no time. I used a Z1 before and it is one of the most fragile phones I have used. Sony smartphones are shitty for now. Sorry. If they don't use gorilla glass then no point buying this shit.

I bought the 7 edge 6 months ago as an upgrade, I was a Nokia man for most of my mobile life, but once Nokia decided to stop making mobiles I went over to Samsung, the 7 edge being my first phone of this type.
I have now had my 7 edge for JUST 6 months and in the last 2 months my phone has frozen almost daily, and once getting the power back I found that the battery was totally discharged even when it was supposed to be 80% full.
Then a couple of days ago I went to make a call, grabbed for my phone and had to drop it back on the table, the phone was red hot I could not even touch it. I took it back to the store I bought it from and they have sent it back for so called repair I think that Samsung will just replace the battery, but I know that if that phone had gone the whole hog and caught fire whilst on my bedside table, my wife and I could now be in the local morgue, and to be honest I know in my heart I will not be happy having this particular phone in my home even with a replacement battery.
This phone is supposed to be Samsungs flagship phone, but I now have some doubt. Yes in the beginning I was very impressed, now I an not so sure, As a local councillor, my phone is not just for making calls, it is my diary, my alarm clock and my notebook, this has now gone and I am left with nothing but the crazy nightmare that what I thought would be my perfect mobile has become a piece of worthless junk. I bought this phone march 2016, i still have till now December 2017, it runs great screen on time still great 5 hours + for me.
I bought a black onyx samsung galaxy S7. and i am 100% satisfied. No complains. And we're in the getting to know well stage at the moment, and there are lots of exciting hidden features inside. it is a very good phone. a very classy and elegant smartphone. Samsung did really a great job with the S7. And really fits my hands. But If i want a bigger phone, i will go for the next samsung galaxy note, because i like the S-pen. I wish Samsung will make a smaller Galaxy Note. a 5.5 display. I thank Samsung for listening to our wishes.

Omg Yess!!! Same, I upgraded from my S4 to my S7 and its UH-mazing, I've had it for about 3 weeks now and I'm loving it, I prefer this over the edge even though it's also a great phone.

Yeaah thats true like i wouldn't use the edge features aswell i feel like the only thing i'm missing out on is that extra 1-2 hours battery life, other than that the S7 is super cool :) I got the titanium silver colour, what colour did you get?

Yeah, I was a bit down about not gonna have that extra hours of battery life if I didn't get the Edge, but it's the basic functionality of a phone, and both delivered the same thing but the other one has more features and stuff. Wow! U got the Titanium Silver cool. I got the Platinum Gold actually and it's really lit! Unfortunately we Titanium Silver wasn't out yet when I got mine and still we don't have it, except for the Titanium Silver S7 Edge which just arrived last last week, but I don't know about the S7 tho :)

Make your s7 fly! I did and I don't think it can get any faster. Do this:
Settings -> System -> About Device -> Build Number. Tap on Build Number a few times until Developer Option is enabled.
Go back to System and click on Developer options and scroll down to Windows animation scale, Transition animation scale & Animation duration scale. Set each scale to 0.5X.

I've just purchased a S7 edge in black & looks really nice & using a UAG case as for a $1300 phone it's far cheaper to buy a case than to replace the phone if it gets damaged & I have a 256gb samsung SD memory card in the phone, had a note 4 & was going to get a note 7 until the recall, but very happy with my s7 edge it's a really nice looking phone.
Its only the Note 7 that had the issues with overheating and exploding? The S7 doesnt have that shit?

Just want to mention something to anyone who want to purchases this phone. The phone is easily to break. Both left and right sides of the phone are also part of the screen, when the phone is lies flat on the table, there a high chance that the screen will crack if it sit near any hard objects such as a glass. Unlike most phone, both sides doesn't have protection unless you bought case to protect the sides. but cases like that will prevents you to interact with the side screen.
I just purchase Samsung s7 edge let's see how good it's is .
