Ullmark's stats were inflated because Bostons D was unreal. He'd be mid with us because our D is awful. Cossa is the guy in a year. One more year of waiting unfortunately
With Cossa and Augustine in the pipeline and Cossa being a year away, no thanks . Ullmark has always been a tandem goalie and will likely take an extension probably in the 5 year range taking him to 36-37 with a high cap hit . Pass
@@markvanderhaeghe6639 I’d say he can be a tandem guy in 2 years, we don’t need to extend a tandem goalie till he’s 36-37 who’ll want around 7 mill per and give up all the assets to do so in the process. Rather target a cheaper option I don’t know who that is but I’m not on the ullmark or saros bandwagon. Samsonov is a ufa and played decent enough in Toronto. We’re not a cup contender so we don’t need to go for an elite goalie ... maybe varlamov from islanders if they’re willing to part with his services. I’d have to look around
Wings can't afford Ullmark. Tell us you don't know hockey without telling us you don't know hockey. We don't even have Mo or Ray signed. Sparty radio doesn't know shit.
I'd welcome Ullmark to the squad but I can't pay up big for a G while we have the worst defensive hockey team arguably of all time. Cossa is only 1 more year out. No way you trade a first round pick for a goalie right now.
He will be traded (if he is) for more than Ullmark, he has a larger AAV now, and he will get a larger contract. He is better and younger, but cheaper is not true.
Yzerman is likely lying about free agent moves, but I highly doubt it's around the goalie position. He literally never tells us what's happening until it happens.
Never thought they would trade for him cus he's a good goalie but not one worth trading a first round pick for. He will probably suck in Ottawa. I would call Columbus about Elvis Merzļikins cus you could probably trade Husso for him straight up. He's coming off a couple down years but he's a really talented goalie with a few years left on his contract. Husso is too injury prone and is way too stiff. Cossa is a few years away. It usually takes goalies longer to develop.
Mike: Is there any truth to the rumor that Tom Gores is looking to buy the Red Wings from Chris Ilitch to enhance his Detroit professional sports teams portfolio?
StevieY has made very little progress since taking over; has one potential elite player (Mo), team is losing its historic shine (and attraction to FAs), replaced old bad contracts with new bad contracts, has only 2-3 regulars (if you count Edvinsson) from the last five drafts, and he gets a 10 mile long leash from too many...I refuse to live in fantasy land...save the "it takes time" replies, we are on year eight and counting
Best reality-based comment about Yzerman I have read in a very long time! Very well said. Of course, Stevie is royalty and isn’t subject to any scrutiny or accountability. It’s also a poor reflection on our city to be so darn tolerant of mediocrity. We need to take the blinders off. He flat out doesn’t have a plan--he is spit-balling all of it and preaching “patience” while he hopes to finally hit on the next Victor Hedman.
You can add Raymond to the list of potential elite players, and maybe Ed develops into one at some point. But so far yes, the progress has been very slow. Its fair to say Stevie should be on the hot seat if they miss the playoffs again next season.
So ironic that the minute I open this video I see an ESPN alert that Ullmark is going to Ottawa 😂

He's closer to 3-4 years away from full time starter. He has proven he struggles his first year at a new level.

You’re part of the problem
@@zacgrasl4229 yes I’m part of the problem ... cause Yzerman listens to me , nice one
Ulmart had a modified NTC. Probably didn't want to go to Detroit
since this aired this afternoon, that boston goalie got traded to ottawa tonight. lol

Theae guys dont understand hockey. I think Sarros is better younger and cheaper.

Ullmark was traded lol
yeah lets trade for a downtrending goaltender with a huge contract while our defense isnt figured out yet. terrible take

It's Costowski!
Now you can't afford Kane and Raymond
Not true
Just get Pastrnak somehow

Why would u spend a billion dollars on a arena and sell the team for a billion u lost out on a billion dollars in equity
@@HoboDillie226 I can't answer your question. It's not lucid.
Doubt Yzerman does anything
And just like that... Ullmark goes to Ottawa. Yzerman better have a plan B
😂😂😂
Better. They need another goalie.
I don't believe this team is there in any aspect of their roster.
