Thank you! I do recall it being quite ‘stally’ but don’t remember a starting issue, I just remember the sound and vibration making me think it was a very serious issue
Hi man, snap on the symptoms. I've got a 1.9 PD130, don't suppose you know if its the same thing for the different motos? I was thinking power steering pump/master cylinder, but, this seems like a better place to start. Cheers
It’s the exact same thing for different motors mate, across all brands too, as long as you’ve got that alternator spline tool and an impact gun it’s pretty straight forward too
@@christiandovey I don’t remember having a whine, it was more of a grinding noise but the really noticeable symptom is the engine vibration which sounds and looks awful, if you don’t have the vibration then I suggest looking at the various tensioners or the alternator
Hey Adam, I’m not sure VW sell the pulley on its own but this is the one I bought 050401-BFCGC-AFG it’s a febi bilstein so it’s a good quality part, it’s been fitted to my van for months now with absolutely no issue
Also had issues with the air con due to issues with the alernator pulley too - amazing how much of these things are all connected!
Crazy the effect that one small part can have on the entire vehicle!
I just had mine in with that problem today😊
I think it’s actually very common but somehow I’d never heard of it before 🤷🏼♂️ hope you’ve got yours fixed now!
Very informative video! I have the same symptoms, has your van stall or had rough start because of that?

Hi, same issue here. Please do you know the part number?
Thanks,
Adam.
