@@Juggernaut76 Iirc you either have to purcahce a supporter pack, or if you have spent a certain total amount already on your account you get access. They did the same thing with 3.0 back in the day.
So, let me get this straight. You're going to play a game from a company KNOWN THROUGHOUT HISTORY as one that flips its own assets in their games to make the game longer... but make it insanely repetitive.... because, you're too "jaded" to play a game that doesn't force you to do that? Bruh...
I pre-ordered D4, made a level 100 Rogue, did lots of grinding Helltide/Nightmare dungeons, played season 2, made a level 100 Barb, and then I've never touched the game since. It might be awesome now, but after putting in so much time, I just got bored of it. I'll probably never play it again. Lol.
Last chance? There is nothing wrong with the game. If you don’t like Diablo type games then you never will. D3 has a quarter of D4’s content and we’re still complaining.
And they are now implementing the best systems from D2 and D3, while expanding on the open-world and the new systems. This game is A LOT better than diablo 3 I.m.o.
Nothing wrong with the game????....dafuq you smoking? This game has been a shit show and yet ONCE AGAIN....they are resetting all of the mechanics..... it's a complete shit show.
@@Francis-of8cwwhat are they implementing from D2? And don't say rune words because this isn't even remotely the same as D2 rune words and this new system is dog shit
I will end up playing it but I don't think they've solved the biggest problems, which imo, are the layers of RNG to extend the "end-game" loop. It isn't fun to brick items with random upgrades on random drops, with random affixes, and random greater affixes. If you brick it you're back to square one, and that feels like Lost Ark without swiping and with fewer avenues, options, and room to progress. Giving you more chances to brick items is just a band-aid solution from Wish. Problem #2 is balancing. I think they made a huge mistake somewhere along the line where nobody knows how to balance things in this game. Certain builds are overwhelmingly more powerful than everything else (even after PTR balances are implemented), and other builds just feel absolutely terrible. You have such limited choices and even more limited creativity. They didn't want to force people into builds with D3 item sets, but here we are with the same problem. If you're a player who enjoys pushing content and min-maxing, then you're stuck to 1-3 options, and most of the time that's 1 or 2 classes and a lot of the time certain aspects are mandatory as well as affixes. My play style is different then some but not different from everyone, where I typically pick my class based off of my own preferences, and then at some point I'm forced into a specific build to accomplish what I want to during the season. Or I'm forced to reroll in some cases where that class simply isn't capable. The cherry on top is when I feel forced into a build and then don't even enjoy the playstyle. #3 why are you able to get Mythic Uniques and/or BIS items on day 1 for fast or dedicated players? I understand casual players or people with full time jobs want to be able to obtain them too, and I have no issue with that, but I don't think the issue is the lack of time to get the mythics, I think the issue is there is nothing else to aim for. There's no real stepping stones, no sense of progress, then you just get the best items in the game and now what? Push the pit where there isn't a leaderboard and to get nothing special from it at all? Run the gauntlet where you'll have to completely change your build without the use of a preset to swap between for little to no rewards in a near-dead game mechanic? Bump the World Tier up which isn't even difficult, as shown in the PTR? What happened to that awesome feeling of farming some bosses and after a few days you get that precious drop you've been waiting for to be able to push higher content somewhere else or farm the next boss or push for the last few important levels of your build or... anything? Killing Ubers feels like a chore. Go run some mindless "fetch quests" to farm a single boss that is mildly interesting at best with little to no challenge even for sub-par builds (see #2 for balance issues and remember vanilla D4 Lillith? that was fun and was a challenge). It doesn't feel fun now that the new factor wore off several times over, and it only feels rewarding until a few moments pass when the next question pops into your mind... now what? I hate to say this, but my retention rate on Diablo Immortal was FAR longer than D4, and I didn't swipe even one time. I feel that at this point in the Diablo franchise it has officially turned into a game that is only meant to earn a few bucks from a moment of passing attention rather than being a game to stick to. One week every season you log in to check some boxes off, hope they buy the battle pass and maybe some cool transmogs that you can't earn anywhere in the game, while the player hopes to get their money's worth before loading up that game that you always go back to. Diablo 4 isn't a "bad" game, imo, it's just missing a lot and it honestly is still one of, if not, the smoothest ARPGs out there. It has potential, and that's why some of us still hope that it'll course correct, but time is now officially out because PoE2 *will* be that game. Sincerely, a gamer who places Diablo 2 as my favorite game of all time, during it's time and November 15th there will be a major contender for that place in my heart.
I loved how they were always saying send in your feedback. Apparently crusader/paladin was an overwhelming request. Then they release something out of left field, a baby from a druid and monk.
Yup, idiots at Blizzard got all of the DnD character archetypes EXCEPT Paladin. We got Warrior (Barb), Wizard, Rogue, Druid... buuuttt No holy based class. You done fucked up blizzard.
I think they are moving with lore, as technically paladins were wiped out due to various influences, and crusaders are on the back foot for some odd reason
@@CaptainMetalwing then they would bring Crusaders due to them being stronger in lore, which I would be fine with, but the playerbase, by and large, was asking for paladins, which were wiped out at the minimum decades prior. But yea, they could just write them back in
@@CaptainMetalwing Yeah but, with everything changing like it has I'm glad they didn't cause there's already a lot to correct still and having a really bad lore reason for a holy class being there would just add fuel to the fire of complaints. I'm sure they will add them within the next year but, it will be when the games identity is more solidified.
It's great. Maybe not for streamers who no life the game but for me who plays a couple hours a night it's perfect. I've leveled all the classes this season where normally I do 1 or 2. I think the game is fun af and love blasting. But hey keep the game servers unpopulated. Less lag spikes while playing. oh nooo.
Diablo 4's been pretty darn good for 5 months. If people didnt come back in season 4 they've missed out and probably wont ever come back but when you log on there are a crap load of people playing any time day or night. They say its "too casual". i challenge anyone to not use a guide and clear the highest pit level thats been reached for whatever class they are playing. I promise almost no one will be able to do it without a guide.
There's nothing to gain for doing the highest level of content is the problem meaning the game is casual. D2 had Uber tristram and you could get torches and decent loot but then D4 has a time sink that has no chase loot for that activity other than maybe some lame title.
I'm also happy and surprised Poe is doing that well while not trying to cater to the "mainstream" and "all audiences" but still to the same people who actually enjoy complexity, just doing it way better this time around.
I personally really like D4 right now. It's perfect as a casual arpg. I don't think the "last chance" thing applies anymore. It's a full game now, either you like it or not.
Eh, what? How is it a full game now but not before? If anything, teh game lasted longer on release than it does in its current iteration where you rush to the end very quickly.
@@zeriel9148 It was technically a full game, but there was literally no endgame. Like nothing. Now there's masterworking, mythic farming, pit levels and hordes. I'm not saying the game is overdosing on content, but now it feels like a complete package from beginning to end. In my opinion of course
@@virdixxii8341 There was NMD up to 100. Really, nothing much has changed in that regard. Yes, they give you more item power... but do you really need it? And on release, player power level was such that NMD 100 was about as challenging for most people as the pits are for them now. It's all just been a reskin of the same shit since launch. I feel the complete opposite of you; it's about pacing. You race through all the content much faster now, so I can't fathom how someone feels it is more "complete" now unless they just think having 3 different varieties of the same basic activity is more complete. Arguably, the pacing was much better balanced back in 1.0, it's just that people didn't like the design. Which is fine. But that's the design the game was made around, it's why the game is so imbalanced now and they keep having to patch the progression.

I'm actually pretty pumped for this. I jumped back in for season 5 and ended up sticking around to level up and kit out 2 characters. The tormented boss grind for mythics and masterworking your build through pushing the pit is pretty addictive in the endgame. I kitted out a Druid and a Necro and had a blast in season 5. Definetly going to check this out.

@@bungmonkey2295 Sorry, but everyone who supports that pricing model of Diablo 4 is just stupid. The expansion should be boycotted. An annual fee for shit that should be in seasonal updates. And in the end: The game has still less features as D3 which is hilarious... Whoever supports that is braindead...
I will not be returning. I was one of the idiots who bought the Ultimate Edition (serious buyer's remorse). I never managed to level any of my characters to level 100, mainly because I inevitably would became too bored to continue. I returned for Season 4 which supposedly "saved" the game and found myself bored after only 10 or 11 hours. That is with trying both the Sorcerer and the Necromancer. Neither are classes I played before. I just cannot see myself buying the expansion.
in their last chance to get their people back, they put a Paid expansion? very smart. Same as NW, 5 last levels and endgame locked behind a 40$ expansion
I've said for a while now, 'Diablo 4 is a good game, but a bad live service'. It's improved a lot since launch, but it's still very shallow and can be pretty much explored within a week. This is what happens when you design your game as a product first and a game second. Which is why I'm relatively certain that PoE (on PC specifically) probably has higher CCP than D4 and definitely has longer retention during a league/season. Comparatively it feels like PoE2 is designed as a game first, which then gets you to spend money because you're so damn impressed by how good it it and how much of your time it devours and I have no doubt it's going to take a gargantuan bite out of D4's audience in November and then again when it hits 1.0 and is fully f2p.
So the rune "words" are just 2 runes always and that's it? And they add more skills/properties like "2%more lucky hit chance for a +13% dmg to frozen upside down skeletons on wednesdays" ?

But Nahantu backstory justifies the jungle spirits class and I like it... Somewhat overlaps with druid but totally different gameplay... I see the spiritborn as a Monk
I main Druid, have since S2 I think they're not - Druid has mostly caster abilities and some tiny Melee options From all the footage I see and the skills and all build options in the skill planners this is by far a melee focused character meant to be in the fray to take and deal damage
The only reason they are banking so hard is that they are making sure that all of the awesome armors / weapons can only be bought real-time, like they intentionally are not putting any badass in-game sets, thus them easily earning a 150M for the cosmetics alone. I can't personally fathom that for a few cosmetics, you can already buy some some games in comparison - even the latest ones without a promo value.

NO... they are selling an Expansion pack that cost 40$... like Diabo2 did in the past... try to play diablo 2 without the LoD expansion... sure you can play... but you will be cut off the expansion new map and new final boss... D4 without Expansion will work the same with a bonus that you will get all new items all new skills and paragons so its already better than what we were used to have with Expansion Packs in the past
As a long term fan of the franchise starting from the its roots, this iteration of the game feels unrecognisable of what made the franchise successful. It's a sad aftermath and a shame of what has become of it... or maybe it's just my taste did not adapt.
The no.1 thing that I can't get over is the scaling open world. This causes all enemies to feel like skins of one or another with the same 4-5 open world events. It drops any of the appeal of both arpg and open world rpgs.
Eh, as one of those who fell off the wagon back in S1, there isn't much going to make me come back. They got my money and my friends' money the first time around and it was fun while it lasted, but its hard to find a reason to continue to buy an expansion for content that arguably should be core. This is the Blizzard way and that is just not the direction I don't want to follow anymore.
The biggest issue for me (someone who played from Diablo 1) is that this is a very lazy development. They just recycle stuff from diablo 1,2 and 3 with very little new added. A new class its ok. This should be priced like 19.99 the most. They just milking old school addicts and new ppl that never playerd diablo 1 or 2.
The upcoming Diablo IV expansion, Vessel of Hatred, priced at $40, raises significant concerns about its value proposition. Blizzard faces a tough dilemma: If they lock key content, like best-in-slot weapons, armor, or critical farming opportunities, behind the paywall, it risks alienating the player base. This could lead to a backlash, with players feeling that the game is becoming "pay-to-win" despite any claims to the contrary. Such a move might push players toward other games, starting a migration to titles perceived as more consumer-friendly. On the other hand, if Vessel of Hatred doesn't offer enough exclusive content, players will struggle to see the value in it. Without meaningful incentives, spending $40 becomes hard to justify, and the expansion risks being perceived as unnecessary or overpriced. Comparing this to Path of Exile, developed by Grinding Gear Games, makes Blizzard’s position even more precarious. Path of Exile offers a fairer playing field, with no charges for core content. Additionally, Grinding Gear Games recently announced that all items bought in Path of Exile will carry over to the upcoming Path of Exile 2. This adds significant long-term value to any money spent in the game and enhances player trust. For many, investing in Path of Exile, even just $10 for stash tabs, seems like a much better deal than spending $40 on a Diablo expansion that may not offer lasting value. In short, Blizzard needs to tread carefully. Offering too little for $40 will make the expansion feel like a poor investment, while locking critical content behind a paywall risks damaging the reputation of the game. With Path of Exile offering a much more consumer-friendly approach, it's hard to see Vessel of Hatred as a wise purchase at this point.
"last chance"? bro this is like their 15th chance, how many times do they need to peg you before you say your bottom hurts? Blizzard is cooked everyone knows it. Anyone arguing that point is just filled with either sunk cost fallacy, insane brand loyalty or sipping ungodly levels of copium. Move on fellas, there are brighter horizons out there for those that seek it, stop eating from the slop bowl.
I tried really hard to like this game, but it just doesn't work for me. An ARPG which doesn't have meaningful progression is like FPS without guns imo. PoE and Last Epoch are better on so many levels.
Sorc should be able to "align" with an element like the new class can align with a spirit. So all sorc moves would be ice or lightning or fire. I find it so dumb I can't be an all in fire mage or lightning mage etc
Was a MASSIVE Diablo fan. Force I found your channel b/c of the D3 podcast you did (for over a year? two years?). Waited out for midnight release at Gamestop; Played a lot of Diablo 3; played a TON of D3 Reaper of Souls, was top 200 in Achievements in season 1. I had a strong feeling D4 wouldn't correct the issues from D3; and it seems I was right and also how Blizz management has acted I didn't get D4. Act Man's video on it really didn't shock me at all.
I'm pretty sure expansions and updates just won't fix the game. The problems that stand out the most are fundamental. How combat functions, how skills work, the skill tree, the passive tree for endgame, gear affixes, crafting systems. The issues extend deep into the core functions of the game. Giving all of these a new coat of paint isn't going to make the vehicle more enjoyable to drive.
i gave D4 a try 9 days ago and can‘t wait to play every day, currently lvl 57, i think it‘s a lot of fun, an i really like the gameplay / atmosphere in it… i guess i‘ll try the expansion for more sotry…
I will definitely try the new spirit born class just because it's something new. But every season I always get pulled back to the rogue. I love the playstyle whether longrange or melee range, it's fits my arpg warrior spirit perfectly!
Diablo 4's and Blizzard's lastest last last last last last last last chance for real this time fr fr last chance fuck Blizzard tho, we aren't pussies so we definitely won't give them another last chance after this last chance right? It's their last chance!
d4 got me back with the most recent season. The addition of the horde mode and the pit was enough extra endgame content to get me back for most of the season.
Last chance? Lol. Cmon now Force.. Its well past that. If you choose to keep putting money and time into people who have constantly deceived you in the past, you have only yourself to blame.
I have to say, as a long time PoE player, recent Last Epoch enjoyer and having played almost all more popular ARPGs throughout the years, D4 (which I started with the current season) is the ideal mix of complexity and simplicity for someone like me, who likes to reach endgame and play it while not aiming at the very highest tiers of it. I don´t have time to sink hundreds of hours into each season, if I can reach some sort of Endgame experience with one or two hours played every other evening within a season it is perfect for me and I guess for a lot of not intensely gaming people like me.
I played D4 for the first time earlier this year and really enjoyed it. Ended up playing through the story with multiple characters, so new content would be great.
I am happy to say that I like D4, play it regularly, and am having fun that keeps me going. I am also looking forward to Path of Exile 2. It is a both/and for me.
I’m a weirdo and play these games for the campaign once… worried about the price, size of zone and campaign length on this one (I really enjoyed the quests of D4). Will be checking it out, thanks for the breakdown, seems like a lot of new stuff since I played the original campaign.
There are two reasons I’ll continue playing Diablo 4. One, nostalgia. I remember playing Diablo on PlayStation and I was a huge Diablo II fan. I played with friends and family for years. The second reason is time. As an adult professional now, I simply do not have the time to devote to something like PoE.
Diablo 4 is a great game but lacks in depth so it gets boring quickly. Talents are boring, items are fine with the reforge i guess, game becomes trivial after a few hours and you can one shot everything. Solid game for the first 30 hours tho.
I'm excited for D4. I'll have fun experimenting with companions and going through the story. New items will be fun to play with and I'm curious about the new paragon levelling. Not interested in the group endgame neither in the new class but it's nice that they added a group finder. D4 was always a weird hybrid of solo/ group play and I guess they're applying systems tested in Immortal.
Can I play a non human? Nah Can I play on Lilith's side? Nah Can I new game plus so I don't waste time from lvl 1 again? Nah ok Blizzard, keep your phones
Planning on getting the d4 expansion... We'll see if it can keep my attention until PoE2. Typically my investment in a d3/d4 launch or season is basically 2 weeks max.
Sad thing is, PoE 2 beta is in November, VoH comes out in Oct. So, most of these people saying they won't pre-order or buy VoH actually will 😞 Like bugs in a light, won't be able to resist and swipe that card and give Blizz more money for Meh. VoH will pop off on the sales charts and be a "success" regardless of any buyers remorse.
I haven’t played since season 3 and uninstalled it. Once Vessel of Hatred launches, I will watch a review on it and if not too much interesting content with a better experience, I will keep it uninstalled and move on to PoE2 when that drops.
The most vicious thing about this game is that it puts restrictions on you everywhere, forces you to form a team or you are almost impossible to get purple items , forces you to raid keys for bosses, and even the power effect requires a lot of prerequisites and various restrictions.
I stopped playing D4 after season 2; leveling was a grind for me, and along with the issues with the items, I just didn't have fun playing anymore. I came back to it about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and legit had a good time leveling and doing all the things. Not so much time left in this season, but I am looking forward to the continuation of the story, and the other mechanics they're adding in. Its not its last chance for me, as I remember the nightmare that was D3, but I obviously had issues with it then, and if I do so again, I'll put it down for another break.

Until they clear this up you may want to leave 11-15 open on your gaming calendar...
Imagine being such a fanboy that you just sit there and roll your thumbs during the golden age of ARPG's when there is such good stuff out right now.
@@Juggernaut76 Iirc you either have to purcahce a supporter pack, or if you have spent a certain total amount already on your account you get access. They did the same thing with 3.0 back in the day.

Don't you know that "last chance" is said by all youtubers/streamers since launch?
Ah the Treadmill. I'm going to play POE2 casually at my pace. I'm getting too jaded to give Bliz my money at this point.
So, let me get this straight. You're going to play a game from a company KNOWN THROUGHOUT HISTORY as one that flips its own assets in their games to make the game longer... but make it insanely repetitive.... because, you're too "jaded" to play a game that doesn't force you to do that?
Bruh...
@@baconoverlord7982ELI5 = Blizzard greedy. Grinding Gear Games= cares about your time and is free.
Honestly I'm more excited about Path of Exile 2 right now than anything else.
I have to admit that it has improved a lot since the launch, but it doesn't matter what they do at this point, on november 15 I will be in poe 2
You could do this crazy thing where you idk... PLAY BOTH?!>?!?!?!?! I know its crazy talk. Gotta take a side and make one game your identity.
You think POE2 will ACTUALLY release in November? It's only 3 years late, We'll see.
Lol.
It's a whole different game now than it was in season 4 even. Next season it's getting another facelift. I recommend you give it another try.
I’ve had my fun with D4. Picked up grim dawn a week ago and pretty quickly decided that would be my new game until poe2 and titan quest 2.
If you want to kill quite a few hours I highly recommend Chronicon. It's like Diablo 3 if it was good.
Theres a expansinon comming for grim dawn when its ready lol.
@@faasnuhind8578 Could easily write lore to bring them back.
I started playing Diablo 4 about a week ago and I gotta admit I’m having a blast so far.
Yea so far 😂
It's great. Maybe not for streamers who no life the game but for me who plays a couple hours a night it's perfect. I've leveled all the classes this season where normally I do 1 or 2. @@natel7382 yes please game crashes as im teleporting back in town

I've been playing the last few seasons, but I'm not buying the expansion. It isn't worth the money.
I'm also happy and surprised Poe is doing that well while not trying to cater to the "mainstream" and "all audiences" but still to the same people who actually enjoy complexity, just doing it way better this time around.
That's why they keep the game free 😂
It fails even as a casual ARPG. There is still nothing to do.

Diablo 4 on its eighth last chance
After playing D4 beta, I just bought D2:R and was very happy, PoE2 FTW!

I’ve found that over my life I’ve always enjoyed quality over quantity. Needless to say, I’ll be waiting for PoE 2 and skipping Diablo 4’s expansion.
I got so excited when he said runeword and was immediately disappointed. Sure a TP on a Barb would be nice, but it has to be charged first? So disappointing

I think they're not - Druid has mostly caster abilities and some tiny Melee options

So by listening to everything you said, Basically Blizzard/Activision is “RELAUNCHING” the entire game and charging people who already bought the game, to buy Diablo 4 AGAIN, under the guise of an Expansion….. and to those who don’t actually buy the expansion still get stuck with a Nerfed Re-Launch of the game…. smh

I mean.. your loss... the game isn't nearly the same as it was in season 1 and it's getting far more different this next season.
The biggest issue for me (someone who played from Diablo 1) is that this is a very lazy development. They just recycle stuff from diablo 1,2 and 3 with very little new added. A new class its ok. This should be priced like 19.99 the most. They just milking old school addicts and new ppl that never playerd diablo 1 or 2.
lets be real, Diablo as a franchise has evolved THE LEAST over the past 20+ yrs
Graphics evolved and gameplay devolved lol
D2 players want to keep playing D2 and they're REALLY loud
You can only evolve so much without completely alienating them
The upcoming Diablo IV expansion, Vessel of Hatred, priced at $40, raises significant concerns about its value proposition.
I’ll be back when the dlc goes on sale maybe
"last chance"? bro this is like their 15th chance, how many times do they need to peg you before you say your bottom hurts? Blizzard is cooked everyone knows it. Spirit born is gonna be fun to play can’t relate
I tried really hard to like this game, but it just doesn't work for me. An ARPG which doesn't have meaningful progression is like FPS without guns imo. PoE and Last Epoch are better on so many levels.
They win me back if expansion is free for people that paid for early access for D4. Till then, they aren’t getting my money.
hurr durr.
Sorc should be able to "align" with an element like the new class can align with a spirit. So all sorc moves would be ice or lightning or fire. I find it so dumb I can't be an all in fire mage or lightning mage etc
They took Runewords and then made them not Runewords.
Yep, it's all bad foundations, no matter how much they pile onto it, it will never fix what the game is standing on.
They even “fixed” the itemization and it’s still garbage😂 people just refuse to let it die because they’ve invested time and money into it.

I've been enjoying diablo iv...
Bruh, it seams that any game comes out and in a few months it is -"XYZ games Last Chance"
Can I play a non human? Nah
Can I play on Lilith's side? Nah
Can I new game plus so I don't waste time from lvl 1 again? Nah
ok Blizzard, keep your phones
Planning on getting the d4 expansion... We'll see if it can keep my attention until PoE2. Typically my investment in a d3/d4 launch or season is basically 2 weeks max.
Sad thing is, PoE 2 beta is in November, VoH comes out in Oct. So, most of these people saying they won't pre-order or buy VoH actually will 😞 Like bugs in a light, won't be able to resist and swipe that card and give Blizz more money for Meh. VoH will pop off on the sales charts and be a "success" regardless of any buyers remorse.
$40 dollars when this should of been in the game hard pass.
Haven't given a penny to Blizzard since 2013
They made 150million from micro transactions it’s far from their last chance.
So poe isn't a grind? Like at all???
@@mikemarks6136 never played that.
