Amazing to see fishers as pets. On the lake where I live fisher cats are considered to be fearsome, vicious killers. I'm not joking. Thanks for this alternate view. I've seen a few over the years but only from a distance.
@Meloney Parker they’re very formidable predators, but I wouldn’t say the have “no fear”. They’re very wary of humans and quite elusive. In a number of states they’re actually trapped for their fur.
Unfortunately fishers have a bad reputation (same with wolverines). In reality they are very wary of humans and pose almost no danger to people (unless cornered/threatened). They pose very little danger to pets and livestock as well.
For not having been socialized or handled before, they interact really well with you! Never seen these critters before, but they sure are cute! Thanks for introducing us ☺️

Fishers were legendary to me when I was in New Hampshire. I'd always heard about them, very rarely ever saw them, and had never heard them vocalize. And now here you are with two of them! Good stuff!
Look up Fisher Cats on the internet. They are extremely vicious and shouldn’t be kept as pets. They scream like babies at night and tear their prey to shreds.
What an amazing lady you are, I don’t think there are many people who would take on fishers given their reputation, you are doing a wonderful thing with all your rescues! 🥰🇬🇧
Mikayla, let's face it - you are mommy to ALL the sweet animals at Save-a-Fox. In your heart there is NO separation. The fact is, you have a HUGE heart for animals...AND you understand them AND bond with them. They own you. 😁
Looks like they're less high strung than the minks. I've seen them from a distance in the wild, but hadn't realized how dog-like their faces are. Very cute. Glad you have some animals to yourself, and that they let you borrow their boat. 😅
OMG 😃😍😍Thank you for sharing your personal furry babies with us! I saw the thumbnail & thought they were pine martins until I saw the title. They're absolutely adorable 🥰🥰 The big toofers 🦷 & claws lead me to believe they can be little badasses in the wild. Like Minks & Stotes. Don't let the cute face fool you.
Yay, more weasels!! 😍 They live here in New England but are hard to find. They're the only animal that can hunt and eat a porcupine . They have a scary sounding yell, I've heard.
I just learned about these mammals yesterday while watching a Cave explorer in PA come across one of these guys out in the wild, near a cave entrance. I've lived in PA, outside Pittsburgh, nearly 40 years, and this is the first time that I have ever heard of these guys, ever. Don't know how these mammals have fallen off the grid with respect to people being aware or familiar with their very existence. In any event, with some of the other RUclips videos I was watching on these critters, it does appear that they can be rather vicious, ferocious, and even predators to the other mammals, similar in size (i.e. skunks, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, or the like) out in the wild, is my take on them. In any event, these personal pets of yours have GOT IT MADE when I look at the awesome playpen you've provided for these two FISHERS of yours there at your rescue. Simply awesome and amazing to know that there are folks like yourself that truly CARE for the injured and orphaned wildlife in your area. Keep up the great work and bringing awareness to these truly amazing animals with awesome videos like this on your RUclips channel. I'm now a fan and "SaveAFox" subscriber thanks to your amazing work and love for these animals and others when in need.......THANK YOU MICAELA for being YOU. You certainly are living up to the origin of your name by the way....""who is like God".
WOW! I would bet a decent amount of cash that you could not have Fisher cats as pets. They have the reputation of being vicious killers. I have a friend that had one break into his duck enclosure and the Fisher cat ripped a couple ducks into pieces. They were extinct in my state and they were reintroduced about ten years ago, to get another predator into the food chain. So far they are doing pretty good.
Huge fan of SaveAFox, but we've got to remember to always be thankful for sponsors. Without them, SaveAFox would only be able to support two foxes: Foxyboy and Foxygirl. Once again, a huge thanks to the sponsors.

Wow! Their teeth are so big! Definitely handy for fishing. This is the first look Iv had of fishers up close. Iv seen a couple in my neighborhood but always running away. Fisher girl and fisher boy are very cute
I'm really bad at naming pets...Oh no Mikayla don't be so hard on yourself, you're probably not...come here Fishy Girl. Oh right OK, I stand corrected, lol. The only reason I know what a fisher is, is because a few months back, after watching a SAF video about the Mink, I did bit of googling, I think I was trying to find out the difference between the different kinds of Mustelids, and the article I read mentioned Fishers.
That's really incredible to see how these cute mustlidae weasel-like beings seem to enjoy the exercise wheel just like a rat or a mouse, and going for a dip in the water similar to something like an otter or even a beaver. Prior to seeing this video if anyone had ever asked me, what do fishers "do," either in the wild or in captivity, I don't think I could have given anything more than a very vague, generalized answer and trying to actually imagine what various species actually, "do," is sometimes something that's possibly probable in guessing at (ex. I had cavies for years. I would imagine the capybara probably shares some behaviors and activities). But trying to imagine what something like a weasel or a pine marten or a fisher does, for me, was not possible to imagine other than possibly sleeps in a hammock and can undo household locks (I'm thinking of ferrets) is the closest I can get and it still doesn't feel right for some reason. It's so incredible to see these animals doing these activities and living their lives - it's very interesting! Thank you for sharing this. How tame are they to handling and emotional connections with human owners? Can you handle them or would they bite or growl? Would they sit in your lap and go to sleep? Do they sleep in hammocks like a ferret? Do you encourage handling or do you try and keep them outside but under protection from predation to try and mimic their intended lifestyle by nature as much as possible or can they come in the house? I bet they stink, huh? Are they deodorized or left intact and can they spray at you or leave puddles of spray around their cages? Very interesting animals... They seem very smart and intelligent too... Have you fixed them or must they stay in separate cages? I'm assuming you don't want them breeding since they can't bring their young into the wild and you'd just kind of be domesticating them...??
Lol him spinning in the wheel! Lol was so cute that's an amazing enclosure for them too super big lots of toys and stuff to keep exercised such a good parent lol
