Arrived as expected with all parts intact, also included two hex keys for assembly. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxwOUUBdw8-88Iu4QnQS7q6b2NwZkHiYVl Had to adjust mine slightly to fit my bike, this was easy enough with instructions. I bought it to train with my track bike and found it to have resistance similar to climbing a slight gradient. Takes a while to learn to balance but there is plenty of guidance to help on the internet. Edit: There was more resistance at lower speeds because of the number of contact points but at higher speeds it is much easier as you don’t have to contend with drag.
We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.
Thank you for your time and effort in making this quality video! Was great to hear the noise these things can make., too. I also enjoyed your objective opinions and loved the tips like using a tripod to hold your phone or iPad. Brilliant! Yes, the intro could have been shorter, but I could tell it was going to be worth the wait! You enunciate clearly, speak intelligently with great intonation, have a great smile, and have loads of common sense! :)
I agree on the noise that could never be considered silent. I saw one of these at a thrift store (today) but it's missing the left hub connector. That isn't even considered a part on the parts diagram. Otherwise I might grab it and buy the part.
Outstanding video! This answered many questions that I had & eased my concerns about setup & noise & the tips you provided were very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Very well done! A few tips you might want to comment on... 1. If you ride with a dedicated trainer tire, it's very helpful to also have a 2nd wheel to keep it mounted on. 2. If not, I'd RX something like the Pro4 Endurance in 25mm or 28mm. Winter is mostly about climbing and base miles, not speed, and the larger tires will not only hook up better on the trainer, they are less likely to leave you stopped (or worse), making NO heat in cold weather due to a flat.
Extremely well made video. Thank you! One small point is that the big yellow knob does not change resistance - only the contact pressure between the tire and the roller. It should only be tight enough to prevent slippage between them.
I bought this cyclop indoor bike trainer & finally had time to put it together. I was able to do it by myself because of this RUclips video. So thank you very much for making it simple & easy to put it together. You rock!! Very informative!!
For anyone who does live in closer quarters...I have found if you don’t put as much pressure on the back tire, the trainer seems to not make as much noise.
Bontrager affinity comp saddle. Try it out, it’s the best one I’ve found. Contrary to most intuitions, the stiffer the road bike seat, the better. The softer seats put more pressure on the perineum, causes numbness.
Great review! I'm new to bicycling and was looking for a stationary trainer, this review was very helpful. I saw a Fluid 2 on Craigslist for $75 and wasn't sure if it was a good stationary trainer or not, but after watching your video I guess I'll give it some more thought. Thank you so much!
I upgraded from a classic magnetic resistance trainer to this unit a few years ago, and I love it very much. The road feel is excellent. The heat that builds up in the resistance unit creates higher resistance, so the harder you push the harder it is to push. The fly wheel fan cools the resistance unit slowly, but I find that it isn't worth cranking up too high because of the excessive resistance that it produces. I have used it for a few years on Zwift, but it is not very good for Zwift if you aren't using a power meter with it because you are super fast when the unit is cold, and then super slow when it gets warmer. This is especially true in warm climates where the cooling effect of the fly wheel fan is minimized. I will be creating 3+ watts per kilogram to begin a session, and within about 10 minutes I am down to about 1.8. Still, its a great trainer if you aren't working with a smart trainer application like Zwift.
Yeah, my basement is really cold and I just hooked mine up to Zwift and was hitting 8 watts/kg easily when sprinting. I'm interested in power meters, but they're so expensive.
I am a mountain biker and just mounted my dirt jump bike to it because it has smooth tires and I don’t ride it all the time. It works awesome except for only one gear.
hey. thanks. i just picked one up at the bike collective. really good video. very informative, no owners manual. but with your video i didn’t need one. 😊
good vid, i have just recieved the same although its now called the Saris fluid2, i didn't realise you increased the resistance until it clicks! thanks!
I like my leather Brooks saddle. Takes a while to break in, but you will have a custom fit. Don't let it get/stay wet. I've had mine forever. Old school.
the sound actually mostly came from the tier of the mountain bike. Change the tire to smooth surface type, you will find it is quite quiet and ok to be used in door of apartment. I just did that, the sound is much much lower.
My seatpost recommendation would include: - Ergon SFC3 (Evo Gel) - Ergon SMC4 (Comp Gel) - Ergon SMR3 - SQlab 610 to 612 series, particularly the ErgoWave and ErgoLux lines (harder than the [Gel variants of] the Ergons, but comfortable in the sense that it is easy to forget you're on a saddle)
@@PittsburghActive An excellent choice, no question. Alternatively, depending on how aggressive your MTB is, there's the very highly rated Ergon ST Core Prime. It uses foam akin to Adidas' Boost. Bicycle tourists and city bikes swear by it. May be an interesting alternative to the SMC4.
Thank you for making this video,.... I have mixed feelings about that noise, I was hoping to use this indoors or even in my garden, but even 20 minutes of hearing that, I know my neighbors would kick off 😅
Try the Pro series of saddles. I used a Toupe for years but started getting terrible soft tissue pressure and burning and the Pro Stealth has worked very well. Thirty day money-back guarantee on those saddles.
Really helpful! I'm looking to get a trainer and there are so many options out there, but this one does seem to have good reviews overall. Thanks again!
Joel Wyncott hey man thanks for the support! It has definitely helped me out to get in better shape. It's one of those fitness pieces that I think will be with me forever. Build quality is good, easy on the knees, great workout.
Great Vid review!!! Did you finally decide on a saddle?? If so which one? Thx Again Oh yeah BTW does the knob have to tighten all the way til it clicks or can you adjust the resistance without having to make it click?? thx
I ended up with an evoc saddle. It’s an MTB saddle and that’s ok. Sucks having to sit there and pedal for a while. I actually used to ride it without the click. Just by feeling. But I ended up reading about the click from cyclo ops.
@@PittsburghActive ok thx. Yeah I receive mine today. Im not looking fwd to staying seated for long periods. Im gonna have to stand out the saddle at times. I hope that doesn't stress the trainer. Brooks saddle. Good vid. I think I will buy one of these to use over the loooooong winter months in Minnesota. PennCycle has them and I'll visit them tomorrow.
i've had my cycleops fluid 2 trainer for 15 years now. i live in toronto so it's used consistently 6 months a year. mine is nowhere near as noisy as yours, i think you tighten it way too much. once i contact the back wheel, a couple of turns is enough. hope that helps you.

MrStevemojo Hi, I’ve just bought one of these turbo trainers and I love it. My only issue is that I can’t seem to get the QR skewer nut to lock tightly in the bolt, so the bike slips out sometimes. Any advice on how to stop this? Thanks in advance!
Hi Timmy , there should be an adjustable locking ring on the side opposite the locking handle that extends or shortens wind and unwind the length making it fit tightly . Also on the same side there is a notch where the quick release side of the skewer sits in might need to rotate to get it locked in . Hope this helps .
Wow, that thing is noisy. Definitely won't work for my living situation with neighbors up above and beside me because like you, I'd only have time to use it in the early AM. As for a road bike saddle, I use a Selle Anatomica X-series leather saddle on my Roubaix. Super comfortable from the get go.
Yes brother, as much as it's not "loud", it definitely has some noise to it. I remember living in my NYC apartment and I can honestly hear everything (I'm sure you can imagine). I figured, it would be a good point to make. Thanks for the saddle suggestion. Definitely looking into it.
Mark Mackinnon do you mean a 10mm thru axle? I honestly don't know but do think that that it all depends on the protruding nub that the skewer makes from the frame.
You can track miles if you’re using a sensor based computer and attach the sensor to the rear wheel. And based off of this question, I take it this trainer doesn’t work w/ zwift?
Just bought one of these used. On my mountain bike top speed is about 21 mph and there is not enough resistance. Is it a problem with the trainer or would resistance increase with a higher top speed? Thanks.
Thanks for sharing your video. I finally moved into a real house and I was thinking of getting one, and I was thinking I get a used one, what are your thoughts on a used trainer?
Great review, answered some of my questions. One more, do you change the skewer back to your original quick release skewer when you are back outside riding?
I got a super Magneto pro that I think is better, especially in conjuntion with a power meter on the bike. It also offers 4 resistence curves and not just One.
I just bought one of these. After losing my previous bike trainer in a recent move. I bought this one. The only feasible place for me to put the trainer. Is on a concrete slab underneath, one of the decks on the house. My only concern is. Won't the concrete scratch up the front legs of the trainer? Also, Start to wear away at the metal on the front legs?
Me lol! Man I literally was trying to ride on sheets of ice yesterday. Everyone is saying this winter is supposed to be bad. We've already had 3 or 4 days of snowfall already. Be great to be riding in Hawaii (I've never been).
Good review. Been using my cyclops jet fluid 2 trainer for many years now and it's been my go to for indoor stuff like zwift. Saddles I'd rate would be specialized power saddle and adamo ism saddle for turbo trainer. Aloha
@@loriesau543 hey Lori, all you need as a bare minimum for zwifting is a wahoo speed sensor on your hub and the zwift cell phone app. Viola you can zwift all day with that. Ride on!

PittsburghActive if you buy from europe bike24 has some good prices for the magneto pro. I payed 2 years ago about 350€. Yes its reasonably quiet.
Tiago Madeira thank you!
You can adjust the tension in the rear for more or less tension correct? Also any links for codes on this item??

Thank you you explained every so well
BARBAROSE ARLINE glad to help!
Is the restistance level adjustable while actively riding?
I just bought one of these. After losing my previous bike trainer in a recent move. I bought this one. The only feasible place for me to put the trainer. Is on a concrete slab underneath, one of the decks on the house. My only concern is. Won't the concrete scratch up the front legs of the trainer? Also, Start to wear away at the metal on the front legs?
80 in Hawaii today,,,,sucks to be back home in the burgh.
Aloha
Thanks man!!!!
Hi there! I met you in Kapolei. :) How do you use the cyclops with Zwift? I thought you had to have a specialized trainer compatible with Zwift...
@@loriesau543 hey Lori, all you need as a bare minimum for zwifting is a wahoo speed sensor on your hub and the zwift cell phone app. Viola you can zwift all day with that. Ride on!
Lori Esau hello! I think you may have me mistaken for someone else :) I wish I have been to Hawaii before lol! I do think you need a smart trainer for zwift. This model the fliud 2 is not a smart trainer.
