I like your speed of instruction. When I did this, on my Xterra, there was a diagram for unbolting the hex bolts, in a specific order, and then also, to reinstall them. And the torque for the bolts is a 2 steps: 84-96 inch pounds (step 1), 13-16 foot pounds (step 2), for V6 engines. 🤙🏽 For anyone else who lands on this video for 2nd gen Xterra. 🫶🏽
I own a 1991 Pathfinder. This video will prove to be very helpful when I remove my throttle body to clean it. I also just watched your video on cleaning the MAF sensor. I'll need to do that job as well. Thanks a lot for showing all the details on these two jobs.
Thank you for the added information regarding the high idle after cleaning the throttle body. I recently completed this cleaning and experienced this high idle. I thought that I had done something wrong. I will now wait for the computer to readjust as you have suggested.
One big tip for everyone: DO NOT move the throttle plate by hand. It's well known that these are very finicky units. Also, avoid getting any amount of fluid, cleaning or otherwise, in the shaft hole or on the electronics.
Thank you there are definitely not enough videos out there for this truck. I have an 06 I just had to replace all O2 sensors and all 4 cats, all because of 2 bad seals on the valve cover pass thru spark plugs. Last steps are clean the Mass and the throttle body.
If Lysol works for Covid it has to work for this 😜 Good Stuff, Thanks for sharing. I am about to take on this task, not that it needed but just as regular maintenance since truck is reaching 50k soon.
Yes - Other videos on Cleaning or replacing the NIssan Throttle body said yes you have to reset the PCM compueter settings controlling the throttle function
My Frontier let out a big gush of fluid when disconnected the coolant lines and it wasnt from the actual lines but instead the throttle body. What's up with that?!
Awesome !! My 2011 Pathfinder (same engine) most likely needs to be cleaned as a result of previous use of a K&N oiled filter. I will clean it carefully following what you did and thank you ! ... Is there an actual relearn process or you just have to drive it and wait for the ecm to figure it out ?
I have a 2013 Xterra pro 4x, and I did the cleaning before I saw your video, but I probably made the mistake of also cleaning the inside of the small plastic squares, cause after I put it together and went for a test drive it was shuddering really bad.
Mike H. Same problem here But I’ve only tried relearn procedure (haven’t done a couple drive cycles yet), since I just cleaned the throttle body a couple hours ago , I’m at 1k rpms at idle.
Excellent video, thanks very much! Just replaced a turbo CHRA on a D40 and wanted to make sure that everything was as clean as possible. Thanks again! the Double Duck Team ruclips.net/user/shortsFE75i64u9GA
I complain when some videos are silent , but in this case your voice is rather annoying sorry to say. And yes it's fine to leave the tb.on the intake to clean it. No problem
I like the step by step process, thank you 😎

cool
Did the computer re adjust, or did you have to re learn the throttle body?
Good luck
@Robert Pelletier, after your Throttle Cleaning; Did your Idle re-adjusted IT SELF, went down to the Correct Idle RPM?
Neil Yakuza how do you re-teach the throttle body
Good info. Will do to my nissan frontier 2007. Very helpful. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for sharing. I learned something for this video.
Thank goodness for your videos!

So, how do we move the butterfly out of the way to clean?

So calm! Great video!

Great video with details! Keep up the good work!
I just bought a 2017 Frontier and was wandering how to take the throttle off. I seems to idle high. thanks for the video!
There's a video somewhere that has the reset procedure for the idle setting. I'd try that.
Check for vacuum leaks when high idle does not clear after throttle body cleaning

My son's 07 Xterra stalls out when stopped and in gear. Will this cleaning procedure solve this as there isn't a Idle Air Control Valve?
Great Success!! HIGH FIVE!!!
Done you have to reset the computer after that?
Yes
@@michaelulloa2663 how?

Awesome and thorough video, I commend you sir, well done 👍
Works perfect for my xterra 2006
Did this on my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder and now my engine won’t crank, any ideas?

Fantastic video! Thank you.
What type of clamps were those that you used?
why the hell would you want to use a clamp onto those hose. it doesn't do fuck all
Thanks , v good video
Did you not have to remove negative battery cable for fear of shorting out or messing up sensors?
I was wondering the same thing. On forums it’s suggested to disconnect the battery!!
Can you clarify for me, the throttle body bolts are 5mm hex bolts?
My Frontier let out a big gush of fluid when disconnected the coolant lines and it wasnt from the actual lines but instead the throttle body. What's up with that?!
Another video said that the coollant runing through the throttle body helps keep the throttle body warm for its best operations

There is a relearn process.
I have a 2013 Xterra pro 4x, and I did the cleaning before I saw your video, but I probably made the mistake of also cleaning the inside of the small plastic squares, cause after I put it together and went for a test drive it was shuddering really bad.
Did you end up correcting the issue?
Good job friend , thank you
very good video, 👌👍
If it's an electronic throttle body, you should never touch that butterfly. You'll do more damage than good
Thanks appreciate
Nice video sr now that was a electric one? Thanks
I have problem to remove the bolds 5mm look like too lose
👍 👍
getting a P0507 code after cleaning and it won't go away with time or the re-learn process.

As per the Nissan Service manual the Gasket should be replaced.
thanks for sharing
Do you have to reprogram the pcm too ?
@@childofgod4575 Other Vidoes said yes to reprogram the PCM
I can't I uses gasoline for clean the part
You can try. Just be careful to not move the throttle plate by hand. Also, don't get any gasoline in the shaft opening or on the electronics.
