    It's not a volume knob!!! The gain matches the input stage of the amplifier to the output stage of the source unit.

    You always turn the bass nob all the way up, then adjust the gain up until it clips then back it down just a smidge

    Gain is to match rca output voltage

    Hey JP question but first so if I upgrade my stock alternator, into a mechen 400 elite series, (question) what is the purpose of having multiple grounds eitherfrom the battery/ alternator.? Second question on those amplifiers that have dual or quad (grounds/power) are you supposed to have each of them hooked up .? Or just the one that have the remote connector to it

    FAQ. how do we determine how many dB's we set the gains to in relation to the sub and why, thanks

    • @yeahitskimmel
      @yeahitskimmel Год назад +1

      Amp gains are set relative to the input voltage from your source, nothing to do with the sub.
      Also there's no such thing as "how many dbs we set gains too"

    I'm running a gravity g12bdi pre loaded enclosure... it's a 12" warzone sub (4ohm dual voice coil) with a 1k watt gravity amp.
    Does anyone have any info on this kit by chance? Can I wire the sub down to 2ohm and get it a lil more power? Would that be a smart thing to do to increase my dB or should I leave it alone? There's minimal info out about gravity subs.

    I'd like to know how to use variable phase adjustment for more than just which way you have your subwoofer(s) orientated, how can sound quality be influenced with tuning this?

    So with a set of Skar audio vxf 12" subs @1ohm,would the jp43 push them good? And also im working on finishing the big 3 and ordering my 2 alternator bracket and getting a 2nd alternator. Already have the 2 battery setup on my 2014 gmc sierra

    The gain on my sub amp is turned all the way down according to what the builder told me. My eqs equalizer upped the voltage of my RCA's enough that he couldn't turn the gain up at all or I would have gotten distortion.

    I recently just got 2 12” kicker comps running on a Jensen 600w 2 channel amp about 250x1 rms 120x2 rms, I cannot turn my volume on my factory head unit past 25, if I do the bass cuts out almost and is very faint and distorted. Is this because the amplifier is running to much power to the subwoofers?

    • @209Twinz209
      @209Twinz209 Год назад

      Gains set to hi possibly... when your head gets turned up, the amp goes into protect mode because it's trying to push too much power

    The gain is not a volume knob... I learned all about the gain setting all by myself just me and an $800, if you don't have a clip light get a dd1 it's worth it... or go by smell that's how I learned about too much gain 🤣
