Rogue Blade Works Benchmade Bugout Upgrade: Great Product...Horrible Customer Service

- I show the upgrade of my Benchmade Bugout and discuss my dealings with the company. My experience was much less than satisfactory. To make matters worse, the company even posted an Instagram video stating that the received inquiries due to my video and the wanted to show how a properly assembled and tuned knife should function. Very petty and childish behavior. The product is very good, but I would not spend another dime with Rogue Blade Works.

Don`t make excuses for them. Their customer service sucks, period. How can a rep argue with a customer that has a legit problem? I know I`ll never use them.
Peter Q Yeah, I don’t even mention them by name anymore. I want everyone that can, to be gainfully employed, but I’m hoping nature will take it’s course and the stronger businesses will thrive. Maybe that will humble him/them enough to do things the right way.
I can’t believe he said he was just gonna cancel your order. First rule of customer service should be to understand your customers’ issues. They aren’t getting any money from me.
Anthony Smith Yeah, they’re pretty bad. I plan on swapping out to some Rock Scale Designs Ti one’s. They’re cheaper and that guy has a good rep.
I hate to be jerked around by companies, no thank you Rogue...was gonna buy but glad I viewed this!
Randall Kelley Yeah, it’s crazy to me that people still buy from this company. The company was supposed to be at BLADE West. I’ve heard lots of talk, but nothing about them.
Same man, I'm glad I saw this video before I let some rude clown take my money and waste my time.
You make some great points; we buy different knives suited for different tasks. Sometimes I think people expect every EDC knife has to lop off tree branches to chop into tent stakes. If you're doing that on a daily basis, you need to carry a fixed blade. EDC knives, in my opinion, are for light duty: cutting blister pack, shipping tape, string, twine, etc. Some of the knife testers cut cardboard into strips. If that's what you're doing on a daily basis, you need a utility knife as your EDC. Same thing with people comparing S30V and S35 blade steel. The only difference I see according to Knifeinformer is the market pouplarity of S35V, possibly because it has a higher number. People, they're selling us and we're falling for it.
DeadManRunning Yeah, I also don’t agree with conjecture being started about products and then group think kicking in. A lot of people immediately counted the knife out because it “flexed”, with the implied meaning of the knife being weak/breaking. Well, the knife has been out 2 years (?) and I haven’t seen a single broken Bugout. I can’t remember who it was, but somebody just bought one and tried to break it. They even ran it over with a diesel truck. There were some scuffs, but not a single functional flaw. Conjecture and group think are dangerous things.
I just bought a Bug Out yesterday and was looking into these scales last night. Now I'm not sure I want the headache after watching your video.
Thanks
No worries. If you haven’t checked out the comments, there are a good bit of people that have had the same experience as me. Rock Scale Designs is good to go though 👊
I say just be honest. I don't really care about waiting. I don't buy aftermarket mods for my knives that I am going to sell or trade so if it's going to be 15-30 days just state that but if you say 3-10 days then stand up to your word. If you fall short... own it. Don't pull that" we are a small company " bullshit. Of course your a small company. That's why your making aftermarket mods I am ordering for my knives at almost the same price (in some cases)that I paid for the knife.
rekozma Exactly, that’s all I was asking for. I think he’s getting the message now. I don’t think he thought he would be exposed the way he has been. Now if you go check his Etsy, he’s changed the timeline and some of the wording. You can do all of that, but you can’t fix talking to your customers like this.
“I appreciate the feedback on the matter. I had to shutdown a machine to come answer this for you so I'm going to get back to it so I can get people's products out the door. Thanks !”
And yes...that’s a direct quote.
Alchemy_1 Your situation w/ this company has kept me from ordering these scales for mine...thanks for the "heads up!" You have every right to feel this way!
Bought mini bugout scales 1 day, got an email saying it was shipped the next day. So far so good for me. We shall see though how it goes. Can't wait for carbon fiber carved mini bugout scales
Pollometo I’m glad things went well for you. Hopefully they have resolved their issues. 👊
A high point is how friendly they are to recycle after a camping trip. I have problems at those dumpsters sometimes. Especially with tents and sleeping bags. So to have a knife that's so easy to recycle after we use it is a nice bonus.
Customer service Benchmade - A+, Rogue - D
I wonder if RB looks at all the money they lost due to this video? Get tough if you want. Viewers are going to take the customers side because they don’t want to be in that position with a person threatening to cancel your order. I won’t buy from them either. Thanks for the heads up even though this is 2 yrs later. Their losses continue.
Yessir! It’s sad that we still have to deal with these types of things 🙏👊
This isn’t first world problem, it’s down right rude
If that fellow on the phone worked for me, well, he wouldn’t be working for me.
Word of mouth is so important in a business. Every person that walks into my
shop gets a big hello and welcome to ____. If my employees don’t then there’re
in trouble.
Anyway, sweet upgrade and thanks for sharing brother.
Bought products from Rogue around the same time frame. Sounds like they got hammered with orders for Christmas. But love the craftsmanship and products they delivered!
Zach I get slammed. I don’t get not just being honest when your customer inquired about their order many times and instead taking the opportunity to be rude. Then, go even further and make posts on IG and then block me once you’re aware that I know about the IG post. That’s where the problem comes in.
I love the bugout. May be my new favorite of the lightweight knives and my go to blade
Same
I purchased aluminum handle scales from Aim Front and they only took 4 days to arrive to my house.
Definitely better alternatives out there. 👊🙏
Haven't had a Bugout yet but I think I might get one..
Cool.
Great video! Is the knife easier to open after installing the scales? In other words less flex from the scales since the carbon fiber is rigid. Thanks. Also, try some Wiha torx drivers. They are made in Germany and some of the best in the world. You will never strip anything again.
Name It Build It I have gotten rid of these scales because the manufacturer has business practices that I do not agree with and do not make me want to spend my money with such an organization or own their products.
I did switch over to some Ti scales from Rockscale Design. I now have the Ti Bugout and factory Bugout. The factory Bugout has even gone to work with my buddy that’s a union electrician for 30 straight days. The only issue he had was chipping the blade when he was digging in the dirt. I’ve never have any issues with either version of the Bugout I own.
I did switch over to Wiha bits shortly after this video and I recently had a very nice driver gifted to me with additional Wiha bits. There’s a video of the driver in my knife maintenance playlist. Definitely quality pieces of kit and I should have made the switch years ago, but I was hardheaded and didn’t want to spend the money until this situation happened and made me realize how valuable the bits were.
Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll check your videos out and follow you! I started racing Radio control cars about 25 years ago when I was a kid and got my first wihas then. Still the same, still the best! I actually got my bugout yesterday which is my first benchmade and I’m still trying to decide how much I like opening and closing it. Not to used to axis lock yet. Did either the carbon of new Ti scales you got make it any smoother opening and closing? I will say the blue scales are definitely tough enough for anything I will need, Just wondering if the rigidity Of carbon or Ti will change the action. Thanks again! Im gonna be doing some really awesome tool videos on my channel you might want to check out too!
Name It Build It Awesome. I’ll check out your videos. The action on both of my Bugouts is comparable. It took some use and a bit of oil, but both almost drop shut. I’d give it some time to break in.
I’m sure you’re more than skilled with tools and small parts from your car racing, but heads up, talking a BM apart is a pain in the patoot! You definitely won’t want to do it anymore than you have to 😄.
Why are you guys trying to turn your bugout into something in isn't. BM used the cheapest materials possible. Why in the hell I've your buddy digging with a God damn knife.... Wrong tool. For the price of your custom BUGOUT, you could have gotten a stronger more solid knife, over that doesn't feel like grit in the open and closing. Everything about this life is cheap. It's too thin. The blade is too thin. The Omega springs suck. BF4 and handles suck. The fact that you have to change the handles to ti is lame. To each their own.
Don't think they were anticipating how popular these were going to be, bad customer service, but the scales look nice, thick too... lol, as for lazy man carries a dull knife. Don't know about that one, sounds good though : )
I’ll wait for a quality custom upgrade for a knife, but I wish these companies would give more accurate turnaround times. Today, I finally got a new Ti pocket clip I ordered 12 weeks ago. Was quoted 7 weeks at time of order, and their webpage still says 7 weeks. It’s worth the wait for me, but if the customer service sucks I won’t deal with them.
Geopoliticus Child That’s where the problem come in. They have a clear order processing issue and on top of that, they talk to/treat their customers like garbage. 👎👎
Kind of reminds me of that custom clip maker on eBay and Amazon called blade4sell. He is always pretty polite in his correspondence but he takes on way more orders than he can possibly deliver in a timely manner. I just received a clip from him for my Adamas that literally took him 5 months to get to me. I would rather he just close books when he reaches a certain point until he’s ready to make and ship in a reasonable time frame again than take preorders that he knows full well will back up for weeks and weeks.
John Montgomery That would make a lot more sense. I know guys want to make us happy. Some of us, but others just want to make money. I have a strong feeling RBW is the latter.
Saw this video too late and experienced the same horrible customer care the OP did. I agree. Good product but god awful service.
Jinda Phommavongsa I’m truly surprised that they can continue to remain in business. Especially considering the options that have popped up over the past 12-18 months. Solid products, good prices, and good customer service without having to be treated like you own the business you’re dealing with something.
I like the cf scales for a more discrete carry.but like you I really like the blue.i have just ordered a bugout although they are out of stock at the minute and it's all your fault.lol.😂 my biggest purchase to date so I'm really excited to get it.thanks for sharing pal.atb paddy😀👍☘
paddys potato peelers Hahaha! I had to take a look and see. These things sell out FAST. There was just a big restock a week or two ago and only some places were out of stock. Now it looks like all of the major stores are out and the small ones I checked out too. Congrats on the purchase 👊
Alchemy_1 sadly I explained that badly.ive paid but am waiting for stock to come back in.over here I would have to pay about $200 which is way to much so I've ordered from a us dealer my friend uses.i just love waiting.😖😜
Hahaha! The anticipation is the most painful, but often time, the best part of the entire thing.
Hey Alchemy, how much were your scale? I've herd that RB are quite expensive. Have you tried Flytanium?
John West I think $125. I have not. Those are Chinese made and that’s part of the reason they’re cheaper. I’d also check to see if it’s 6al4v Ti. A lot of Chinese stuff isn’t. I buy US made as much as possible. Just my personal preference.
I do agree I was not aware that they were Chinese, I would prefer to support American when I can.
Thanks again
John West Yes sir 👊
I work for a small company. We might not be able to afford to offer some things the big companies do, but customer service is the one area where we make up for it. So, in expectation and experience, I always get better customer service from a small company.
tcdahn7 💯 you may not have the biggest budget, shop, supplier, or presences, but you can have the best customer service. That doesn’t cost much at all.
Totaly agree, just received a bugout in the dark colored scales. Think Ill leave it like it is. Cant stand rude behavoir, bothers me for days.
Harry Wright It was pretty crazy to me that someone I’m paying had no problems publicly acting a fool.
Just got the wife’s Bugout in the other day, and was not happy with how flimsy and off center it was for a overpriced knife.I will be ordering Flytanium G-10 scales, and carbon fiber back spacer to stiffen it up, making it a $210 knife that does not even have jimping on the blade.
I have a few Benchmade knives, and have always been happy with them. My 610 Ruckus is an absolute beast. Sadly, this will be my last Benchmade purchase, and will stick with the smaller knife brands.
Flytanium has built quite a rep, but I choose to buy American. Never heard any complaints though. 👊
Well I'm glad I found your video before I bought those scales. Sounds like that guy isn't worth dealing with
Woodland Warrior Yeah, I thought Hong’s were changing, but somebody just asked me for their number because they were having the same issues.
Expectations and happiness run hand in hand. If the product ships early, you're excited. If the product ships late, you're frustrated. Regardless of what the ship time stated is.
drew Pfeif Very true, but most businesses do reasonable business. My buddy just waited 2 months over his estimated time and when he filed a PayPal claim, RBW sent him a nasty email. I think that’s a bit beyond normal business.
@@Alumapro23 my point is that if they said ships in 30 days, you would be happy that it shipped early
drew Pfeif Very true. I’m just saying there’s more going on here than just blowing deadlines.
Hi there. Wow! I had the EXACT same issue getting that darn screw out of the factory handles on the Bugout. I FINALLY got it out. Thankfully not to the extreme that you had to go. I went ahead and bought titanium blue replacement screw set for the Bugout. I will soon be getting my carbon fiber handles from RogueBladeWorks as well. Sorry you had such poor customer service. Enjoy your Bugout. I surely am.
pstaehlin Thanks, man. You too. Let us know if he delivers to you on time.
Use a blow dryer to heat up screw
With the new carbon fiber scales the clip is non-reversible?
Max If you dare risk your money with RBW, they have an option for that when you buy. I didn’t want the extra holes.
Roger that
Had an issue with Rogue Blade Works as well. According to my tracking info they sent my order to the wrong address. I messaged them and I didn't receive a response. I contacted the Post, and I assume they managed to sort it out for me as I got my order in the mail a few weeks later. Nice product, but not a great experience.
Kasandra Kerfont Yeah, I’m not hearing any positive feedback from any of the PM’s, DM’s, and comments I’ve been getting.
I won a set of carbon fiber scales on an Instagram give-a-way (from Rogue Blade Works) and it took almost 4 months to receive them.
YetiRN That sucks! Seems like there are very few positive stories.
Alchemy_1 I think he's already had to stop taking orders 2 different times... Not good for business😒
YetiRN I don’t know why people keep giving him money. As soon as I get off my lazy duff, I’m removing these and buying/installing a pair of Rock Scale Designs Ti scales. Cheaper, equal quality, available, AND you get treated like a paying customer and not like a panhandler asking for spare change.
Yeah, it makes you wonder how some of the more popular RUclipsrs have glowing reviews and, as one viewer pointed out, those reviews started popping up around the time of my review 🤔🤔🤔. I’m not saying...I’m just saying that’s very coincidental.
I got mine within a week and they installed perfect , I've even had it apart a second time to re lube and install a rock scale design ti backspacer
I can only show/tell you what happened with my purchase and the problem is bigger than just getting the product on time. However, looking at my experience and the other comments, it doesn’t look like your experience is common. The video has 32k views so I’m sure if there was a testimony to be shared, it could have been.
They shut down in January to hopefully get their act together. Nice looking product!
Jack Flynn That’s about their 3-4th shutdown. They shut down every other month or so. I really wish things weren’t so, but they are. If you scroll back on their social, you can see the announcements.
@@Alumapro23 My misunderstanding. Great video!
Jack Flynn No worries, man. I think it’s important to have these discussions. Somehow RBW keeps slipping through the cracks and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that no one is putting the info out and even when it is put out, no one is paying attention. They have used several reasons for shutdowns. They have said that their supplier does not have enough stock to keep them going, they shut down once because they were getting more CNC equipment to increase output, they have shutdown just to “catch up”, etc. It’s crazy to me that this place is still up and running.
Come on guys. You don't buy a product then modify it to make it work. This knife is a POS. Just get a Spyderco. Seriously. This story is a joke. Off centered... WTF. The blade grind.... The knife is a POS. You enjoy a knife that isn't done correctly. Wow. Come on people, upgrade your taste. And drop theses companies that are shit.how can you be proud of the knife when you have to modify it. When you strip screws. When the knife comes off center. A knife is a piece of shit
I like the Bugout..but Just can't get past those plastic grips..i went with a couple Kizers instead!! Glad i did!
Tony Tyler You handled the Bugout and didn’t like it? Great, man. All that matters is having a knife in hand that you love. 👊
Businesses have to pay taxes on any inventory they have on the Shelf at the end of the year. I guarantee you, he was trying to make it after the year started so he didn't have to pay taxes on his inventory stock. Or he was processing all of the orders at the end of the year in December so that he can make exactly what he had orders for . He was just too chickenshit to tell you.
Janus B. I wouldn’t put it past him. Dude definitely doesn’t know what customer service is.
I mean, he should just say so. I’m totally cool with waiting if it means he saves money on taxes.
thebiggestpanda1 Doing things like that, without telling customers (which I can understand because that’s also illegal), is poor business.
Everyone paying $120+ for molded plastic handles? Then mods?
Richard Ebbrecht People buy $3,000,000 Bugattis and add to them 🤷♂️
I wouldn't waste time with anything on etsy. I hate that place. Also a great way to get your card number compromised. Nice scales though. I'm thinking of going with some flytaniums or whatever they are for one of my bugouts.
Jay I’d buy Rock Scale Design, but I do not, personally, but Chinese gear.
Great product, slow service for sure. Waited forever.... And while waiting I got so used to the 535 scales, I put the RBW scales on and thought to myself "hmm. I actually like the feel of the factory ones better" but the CF ones look so damn good!
cpt awesome Yeah, I think the factory scales are fine after getting a second one to beat on. Not that I was ever in the camp of people that thought the factory scales were fragile. The quality is very good. The wait time and the way they treat their customers 👎👎.
If a company told me they were going to cancel my order I would have told them to do it. That's terrible customer service.
Benchmade probably thread locks the screws because they don't want people working on them. I'm surprised they sent you new screws since disassembling the knife voids the warranty, but excellent customer service nonetheless.
Hahaha! Absolutely! I still get messages till this day that about how bad they are.
Too bad that not too long after this they released a soft 3v steel knife, said it was fine, then secretly released an updated version with harder 3v steel 8 months later, and scrubbed all of the internet of any existence of that info.
I've ordered a pair of these scales from their eBay site a few days ago, and they've yet to ship. I hope I don't have the same experience. I don't mind waiting for a quality product, but I like being told up front. Their eBay site showed several sets of scales available, and I hope that's really the case.
Sounds like quite an unsatisfactory customer experience. As for the scales, they do look classy -- but now the thumb studs and stand-offs look out of place! I'm reminded of that children's book.."Never give a mouse a cookie.."
👊😂 no need to worry. I went with Rock Scale Design Ti scales and then just got rid of all my BM stuff once all the evidence surfaced that they were a company that had so many issues there was no way I could even try to justify owning one.
i love the bugout and unfortunately, i lost mine at work and i might have to buy another one soon.
On Ebay there is a guy selling titanium scales for $95.00 also there are people selling titanium belt clips that range in the $20-30.00 range.
Just use a filler of your choice in the in the hollowed out blue scales. Keep it blue and original. (good fiber glass epoxy)?
jeff smith To reinforce the scales or to fill in the cut I made?
I've striped BM screws before. BM will send you a new set of screws
Lol just watched to the end, glad you got in touch with BM
What a piece of crap. The BUGOUT screws are so small. Why the hell do you like this damn knife. The entire product is cheap.
@@STERLING43O Small screws don't cause stripping, you just have to be careful with them. The internals of it are good, nothing wrong with it.
Just saw this, thanks for the heads up on the customer service
Mark Trimmer I really have no clue how they continue to stay in business. I’d say it’s just me being biased, but you can scroll through the comments and see all of the similar experiences. That doesn’t even count the ones I’ve had conversations with on IG or text.
Do what you say you're gonna Do. not so hard.
kcbeem123 Exactly and that’s all I was trying to get across to him, but he just flipped and turned into a jerk.
I buy my scales from flytanium they make very good scales and always got good shipping time to
Definitely a popular choice 👍👊
"It looks a little off, but it's really not that bad" doesn't sound like a quality issue at all. Certainly not a reason to say Benchmade has "quality control issues."
Wayne Childress I think you’re taking what I said out of context. Generally speaking, BM has QC issues and they are things like centering. This is an old video and in that time, they’ve had the Bailout that proved itself to have a heat treatment that was very sub par (they confirmed it was soft via email that I shared here and on my IG), I’ve had another Bugout that was off center, and a Super Freek that has up and down/side to side play. It is a shame that such a company does have these issues, but this is nothing more than the modern version of Case Knives. The company puts out sub par products and people support them because they are emotionally and not objectively connected to the brand.
@@Alumapro23 You said in this video, "I guess I'm finally experiencing some of Benchmade's quality issues that others talk about." My point is you're propagating other RUclipsr's opinions, when what you experienced in this video doesn't seem to be an issue at all.
I watch RUclips videos to get an idea what a knife is like, not to hear what other RUclipsrs are saying. I want to know what YOU think. And, whatever happened after this is a mute point to this video. Benchmade makes a butt-load of knives every year. (Case makes over a million per year ‐ approx. 4,000 per day. In contrast, GEC makes around 25-30 thousand - approx. 115 per day.) A couple of knives a half mm off center does not mean the doom of the company's quality.
Wayne Childress I gave you my extensive experience from just this year. What am I missing?
What was the new weight of the knife with the carbon fiber?
TheLifeOfJacob I’m not sure. Negligible in hand. I think EDC Gear Reviews weighed the knife with them on.
Try boiling water on those tough screws, I've had a few of the same screws strip on me on full size griptillians
I don't understand why you made the 2nd Rouge video. You spent 1/2 the video descibing the first video. I am new to your channel and I hope that this is not indicative of the rest of your reviews
Mike Joseph I appreciate the comments. Maybe the summary could have been shorter. However, people do not watch every video or the entirety of videos. I was also in a bit of a rant. So, I do take your point on the length. I do not usually go back to anything I’ve covered before...unless it’s requested. So, I think you’ll find that there is little to no overlap between videos.
Alchemy_1 I’ll stay
Mike Joseph 👊
I ordered the bugout and scales from them and it took over a month, I thought it was just because the bugout may have been out of stock.
Damn. I hate when this happens. Do these people really think in this age of communication that they will not be exposed ?
I’ve recently had trouble with both millit knives and vayserarms(blade boutique) dealer, a November 2017 preorder that up to today hasn’t even started! It was stated 4-6 weeks I believe which is delete from the site. Me and another guy did some investigating and talking to each separately. Both are being dishonest. Millit even deleted a ig comment between me and another guy on the order.
We are waiting on the refund then I will post on BF.
On the bugout. I had the worst grind I ever experienced lol. But it was centered so I reprofiled it myself.
f22shift Wow! That sucks! It is crazy that people think things like this won’t get out. All businesses/makers have to do is be honest. Things do happen, but making people wait with no good answers is a recipient for disaster.
LOL...I’ve heard a few people say their’s was bad. It’s a great knife...in its role. If they would have made this a $99 knife, it would be killing the market more than it already is.
Alchemy_1 yeah bro. It’s better to set an expectation then beat it. Or it crap happens and it does, communicate. But your scales do look nice so it’s just a lesson or a caveat emptor for potential customers.
Yeah the bugout is nice. I would recommend to anyone. Just have a good dealer in case there is an issue from the factory.
Email/text exchanges often get misinterpreted. Not saying that’s the case here, but always something to be mindful of. Bad customer service is indefensible.
Mitchell Delmar You’re absolutely right. You cannot read always read the tone of what someone wrote. I would have loved to talk to the guy on the phone, but that’s another issue. You cannot because he does not have a business number. And you’re right about it being indefensible. Even if you take away the disrespectful email, the Instagram post taking a shot at my install, the guy still specifically stated 2-3 different shipping dates and he did not meet a singe one. There’s no reading into that.
Did the scales add much weight?
Derek Dacus I don’t recall. The company is not customer friendly at all and I got rid of the scales shortly after I installed them and they mocked my video on their IG and blocked me from their IG that I didn’t even follow or comment on.
@@Alumapro23 oh no. Absolutely not buying from them. Just wondering if scales add much in general. Impressed with the bugout. Almost makes your hand lighter when you hold it. Any noticable difference in weight between the originals and the titanium?
Derek Dacus A slight difference, but I’m not a big weight guy. I’ve had some people tell me they could guess the weight difference in a blind test. I would need to be holding both and even then, it’s not enough in use that I think about it. But, I’m a guy that will carry anything from this 2ish ounce knife up to my Strider RC that’s got to be over 8-9 ounces and a midsized Glock, extra mag, and a light.
EDC absolutely, but the bugout is marketed as a thru-hikers backpacking knife and I am a part of that ounce shaving market group on the trail. EDC I carry a Osoraku Zukuri folder and a 940.
Derek Dacus Nothing wrong with either. The 940 is too thin for my big hands and long fingers. Loved the 940-1 though. Having had both now, even if the 940 fit my hand, the shape of the Bugout blade is way better for general EDC, IMO.
I get the ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain, but if you’re an ultra light hiker, you’re not supposed to be traveling with tons of gear so how much does a fraction of an ounce affect things in the grand scheme? Serious question. I get lots of weight questions, but I never get the fraction of an ounce thing, especially if someone is into ultralight/minimalist carry.
Those are real nice. Won’t be ordering from them, unless I could be sure of the time frame.
Peter Galione Good luck. He clearly isn’t truthful or humble enough to be upfront. Forget all of the flat out disrespect he shows to his customers. Read the comments here from other customers and on my IG posts (Alchemy_1). Nobody has anything good to say about this guy and it’s mostly how he speaks to people.
You need blue screws to make that thumbstud look less out of place
Wayne Welshans These scales are long gone. I wouldn’t own these again if they were given to me.
Texturing would ruin the carbon look I think. That’s what the designed ones are for.
mrstarfishh33 I think there could be a tasteful look. Spyderco’s peel ply carbon fiber is well regarded in the knife community. Not that I’d touch another set of anything RBW’s makes ever again, but.
So basically you order an item and you are not allowed to even ask when it arrives.. Thats Great😉🙏🖕
Yeah, pretty bad.
где купил ? и по чем ? а так нож хорош ...
They look great!
mccool29 They do look good, but looks can’t overcome subpar service.
"its no worse for wear" ... it litterally has a massive big cut through it -_-
Does it still serve the original intended function or is it cosmetically ugly? That’s a big problem we have in this community. Ugly = bad. It’s why so many don’t even use their knives. Harsh truth, but truth.
@@Alumapro23 Very true, I don't mind wear and patina personally. But that screw would drive me mad. Love the new scales though!
Where’s the nappy dugout. It’s where you get the bugout.
Check out bladeHQ. They got a bunch of different type scales and service is superb.
Unknown Wolf The scales they have started to come out with are interesting. I like the Ti ones I have better though. I wish I could speak highly of BHQ, but I have not had good luck with them. As a matter of fact, my first Bugout was supposed to come from them, but, long story short, I ended up having to cancel my order and place my first order at DLT.
I’ve had outstanding experiences with GPK and DLT.
Damn that makes it look good
A lot of people are unprepared for the difficulties of running a business and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers, family, banks, etc. It can be tough to switch roles from hard ass on the supply side and get back to friendly customer relations. Still, to have an unrealistic delivery time can be bad planning or dishonest advertising. Also, many vendors outsource the actually production and that adds an additional potential for delay. It is sad to see how much US custom work is done in China and when a middleman pretends to own the factory, the production becomes less reliable.
Scott G 💯 All I wanted was the truth. Don’t try to breadcrumb me to death. Yes, something definitely doesn’t smell right with this company. That’s why I sold the scales and wrote off the company.
Hate t6 . T6 and locktight dont end well

💯
Thats what you get from doing business with amateurs.
Thank you for the love and support. I hope you have a perfect day 🙏👊
Alchemy_1 I have C19 but trying to make the best of it. Do you know of any other makers of scales?
Only buy flytanium
nilagorilla I do not buy Chinese products, but that is a more reliably supplied option.
Thats kind of goofey considering flytanium rivals the crappy scales you blew money on
Well, first, let’s keep it respectful. I never told you what to buy or used any unflattering adjectives.
However, since we are discussing this. Do you know how you get all of these “cheap” Chinese products? They’re subsidized with the quality and actual life of the workers that make those products and a government that practices everything they can to gain a competitive advantage, no matter how ethical or unethical. So, if that is goofy to care about humans, I guess I’ll be that.
@@Alumapro23 how many import parts does your car have??
@@Alumapro23 AWT is another option, im not trying to have a pissing match with you, just stating there are other options that im sure you're aware of 👍
I wouldn’t call it an upgrade, I would call it a preference.
LastCAPatriot I guess it depends on perspective. Carbon fiber is a material upgrade over polymer.
What material are those scales ?
Lasurge1982 Grivery (SP?)...Benchmade’s version of FRN.
Wssted half the video talking about delayed delivery.
Bob Rouleau seriously. Half the video was just complaining
@@Djsnifflez the video was about 2 things. the quality of the scales. and the quality of the customer service. he talked about both. i'm glad he talk about it for so long. because that just shows the severity of the situation
Kyro yeah I just kind of wanted to hear more about the scales
@@Djsnifflez I hear you there. but blade hq now carries g-10 scales for it so honestly just use those.
Uses a 100 year old nickle lol
Lazy man? im in college and i cant afford a professional sharpener you monster!
Mgrsdgfsd Afsdgrsdgfsdg 😂😂😂👊
$40 bucks for a cheap lansky system and it works well.
