- Create Transparent PNGs with Shadows Already Built-in, with Photoshop! Learn how to extract shadows and embed the same in a transparent PNG file. This way, the object is ready to be placed anywhere without having to worry about creating shadows.
In this tutorial, we will use the Color Range feature to sample the original shadows to help us create the most realistic shadow possible. We will also learn how to remove color casts before isolating the object so that it becomes versatile with any background.

all shadows are black, no such thing as a coloured shadow, if you see colour in it its because you are looking through the shadow at the surface below
Been working as Graphic Designer and Art Director for many years, always hated clipping paths and loving masks. I have been using this technique for a while now and I am loving it!

Love it! At 1:27, you say "hold the Alt key" but the popup says "Control." A minor mistake and easy to make. Just thought you might want to fix it :-)

When the object selection tool kept insisting on digging into the shadow, I immediately thought "oh, silly Unmesh, just use the pen tool, it would be so much easier than this!"
