That's with changing every shell. I changed my Switch Lite's shell from the Aquamarine to the Atomic Purple like the N64 controller and holy shit. Go watch a video for that one. That was the sketchiest thing i've ever done in my life lol.

@14:24 I just used a strip of washi tape, folded it onto itself and taped the ends to the strip to "extend" it and guide it though. OH and thank you for this video, my mod was successful! Had to look up other videos on on how to change out the trigger buttons before continuing this video and it really made me appreciate the quality of your video- everyone elses was blurry, far away, dark, no audio/hard to follow
If anyone is worried about doing this. I'm 14 and clumsy (and I know this is cliché) but if I can do it I'm sure you can. Just keep track of where you put stuff I recommend: - A PH00 Screwdriver - Tweezers (I didn't really need them) - A place to put the screws Go slow, this took me around 3 hours in one sitting. Good Luck.
I didn't need to to replace the top I needed to put the thumbstick in and that's video was helpful I recommend it to anybody with a PlayStation controller

That ribbon cable scares the hell out of me, all I'm trying to do is swap the back casings on my regular black PS4 controller in my magma red PS4 controller so that way I can have a PS4 controller that looks more like the wave one red PS4 controller
Your supposed to push the blue card bit up with your finger and pull it out with your fingers not fkn pliers thats how you wreck it. This guy doesnt know what hes doing

Soooooo helpful! I just got that SAME case off and replaced it by the original black case. (It looked awesome but somehow the D-Pad felt numb while playing Tetris Effect)
@@KillerHairRocks the back shell unscrew the bit holding the light bar and slide the pieces out. Then another screw for the connecter. Just remember where everything goes or take a photo before doing it. :)
You dont really need a pry tool, just apply opposite pressure to both sides of the controller, and then the shell will pretty much just pop off, ive used this technique on both of my controllers.
So you would assume all's you have to do is unscrew the face plate and then put your new one on. However you have to be a technician at MIT to do this.
Just gave this a go and after a long time of deliberations, and worked a treat. Thank you so much dude! Absolute lifesaver, it’s also very simple once you’re in there and having you talk step by step it’s a breeze. Cheers again man

THE SCREW BIT IS THE HARD BIT.
I think they glue the new PS4 controller screws in or something because no matter what I do they won't budge.
