Ray 34 is clearly the best sound!

This is how all bass sound videos should be made! Including all the fun blink-182 riffs which made me get a Stingray in the first place. Ray24 probably gets closest to that sound, probably my next bass purchase

W tym zestawieniu tradycyjnie najlepszy Ray34 - no brzmi to bezbłędnie.

    amazing comparison!
but you have to consider that there are differences between Ray4, Ray24 and Ray 34:
-Ray 4 and Ray 24 have both ceramic pickups, Ray 34 alnico V pickups
    -Ray 24 has a better 2 eq preamp than Ray 4, Ray 34 has a 3 eq
That said, I prefer the Ray24 sound

Kudos for making a back-to-back comparison of the whole bass lineup. I don't think there are many videos like this on RUclips.

    IMHO:
Ray 4 sounds a little muffled and dull, which is unfortunately, the case in real life. But the culprit is the pickup. It just lacks definition. Even Ray4 HH has better sounding pickups. So, swap the pickup, and it'll sound close to a real MM for a fraction of the price and with a comfortable 38mm neck.
Ray24 is nice, has a mahogany slab body, better bridge than Ray4, same 38mm neck, same preamp, but better pickup. But it can be a little overpriced for what it is.
Ray34 is your best MM affordable alternative. Really nice bass if you don't care for the "Made in USA" label. Great necks and finishes.
The short-scale actually surprised me. I don't even know how you managed to get that tone. Even at full tone with volume boost in both parallel/series mode, I've never heard it sound so bright and tinny. In my experience, even at full tone, it's as full as Ray24 at flat EQ.

@@OverdriveFunStudio Hey, I'm from UA. I just like Sterling basses and played many of them except those different Ray34 versions. Hearing them stock side-by-side like this is quite cool.

YT algorithm isn't showing this video in search results as of now, which is rubbish. It needs more views. 😕

I have RAY4. I replaced the stock sensor with a seymour duncan smb-4a. The sound became brighter and the deafness went away. I also stuck it inside with copper tape to prevent interference.

Ray 4 have a serial link from humbucker, how you install the seymour? parallel or serial coils?

    • @cartoonister

@@templebass3265 I am using a translator, so please forgive any mistakes. The pickup comes with instructions and there are two types of connections. I connected them in different ways, but I liked the parallel ones. Everything is well described in the instructions. I also added wires to keep the magnets in contact with the (-) . And most importantly, I washed off the graphite and applied copper tape to isolate it from interference. It got a lot better. Also, the new pickup will need to have a pad glued to the bottom. He has a different height. Here I wrote down the difference. Even with my poor performance, the difference is obvious ruclips.net/video/iBH6OcpwyfQ/видео.htmlsi=UxKviXKtRHUa9mTs
