Great comparision and great player!!!
Thanks You, i appreciate it! Subscribe :)
Fender 68 with the flats.... fuckin beautiful.
yeah, my pick too.
The best sound for sure!!!!
I prefer the Stingray personally. But the Precision with roundwounds fits this track much better.
I like the sound of The Music Man
7:10 P-Bass with flats and pick = 🤤👌
I think it’s just the playing that makes it all sound great
Thanks
They all sounded fantastic
I think the same 🙂
The Sandberg in both configurations 😍😍😍
Sandberg has a great definiction especially in the lows
I agree!
Love the sting ray! cuts like a knife in butter.
My bias is coming through- stingray
68 P for me, the custom shop P was also really nice, non were bad, the Stringray has punch and the Sandy sounded unique.
That 68 P-Bass is God Mode
Thank's :)
I’m a Fender guy. But, that Sandberg to my ears was the punchiest. All sound great.
That Sandberg sounds absolutely incredible! Killer playing 🤘
Hvala!
The 1968 Fender with flats and muted sounded amazing and I play a Stingray
I love the '68 most, but that sandberg is amazing, too!
Wow that 1968 Fender was so crisp!
Wow that 68! Well That’s just an Untouchable tone
Humbucker in the bridge and jazz in the neck is a great pick up configuration.
Definitely liked the sound of the Sandberg the best. Just beautiful 🏆⭐️🇦🇺🎆
The 68 Precision with flats is on a different level. This is coming from a die hard Jazz Bass player.
Thank You for Your comment :)
it may have the tone from the pick but i agree. the 68p has the right Jamiroquai tone in it
Goodness that Stingray!
That postmodern fender is my favorite, next to the Sandberg. Thanks for making this video, nice format for showcasing different bass qualities.
You’re very welcome. I hope you'll like the other videos on my channel and consider subscribing. 👍
The Fender Custom Shop provides the closest sound to the original, and overall the coolest one for this song.
Sandberg and MM sound great to me, great playing! Without surprise the Sandberg is damn versatile.
Sandberg sure is damn versatile!
I agree with Cleber Krebs - the Sandberg active is very nice in the deep end 👍🏻
The Sandberg really appealed to me on this song.. Active especially, has a lovely roundness while being modern. The stingray sounded a bit too much like a stingray lol
Sandberg is by far the best of the bunch
Fender precision, as always!
Sandberg active, Stingray.
Sandberg and Musicman sound awesome
Excellent playing, sandberg sounds so good
Thank You
More demos should show the bass in a song, I like it a lot
I agree, this is a great way to demo basses
68 P-bass, then Sandberg. ... I tried a similar Sandberg at Bass Central last year and was really impressed.
Loved them all , but the 68 p would be my go to .
That heavily-aged Sandberg sound so sick! I’m a very big fan of Jazz Bass because it has a distinctive voice not too bright, not too low, and not too growly.
First time hearing a Sandberg. All 4 had great quality sound. The P was most appropriate. Played a 1983 Sting Ray for 25 years, so I'm partial. Clearest tone of all 4. It's that hamburger. Had a Fender Precision Bass Special that had single coil up front and a humbucker in back and that thing killed. Think that's why the Sandberg sounds so awesome.
Anyone else keep playing this on repeat?! Can't get it out of my head now... 😆
You sound great on all four! Personally though I think that 68 sits perfectly in the mix!
Thanks 👍
I would choose the Fender 68, it shines !!!
Sandberg sounded wicked
Thanks, I like them all :)
Fender 68 with the flats finger style fitted the song the best I think.
The StingRay Special and the Sandberg stood out for me.
I can see having those 2 basses and your vintage PBass and be set.
Really well played.
Sandberg passive for me
Thank's
'68 P-bass with flats and a pick.
Sandberg and Custom Shop P Bass sounded best to me. Flats with a pick was very nice as well.
In the absolute, I prefer the tone of that Custom Shop P-bass, but on that particular song and genre, the 68 P-Bass would be my pick. Awesome playing, by the way.
Thanks. I hope you'll like the other videos on my channel and consider subscribing (If you haven't already) 👍
@@ObraBass I have. I am a beginner bass player in my early 50's, who has always been in love with this instrument, and I find your channel very interesting.
killer demo, I'm developing a soft spot for P-basses with flats but all samples where stellar.
Thanks 👍
Hell ya!! My new theme song. Walking and funky vibe to it. I like alot.
This is like buying TVs. When you are looking at them in the store, you can see some differences but they are all good. I doesn’t matter which one you buy, you’re going to be happy when you get it home. They were all good here but I would probably go with the music man, Sandburg, fender with flats and P bass in that order based on sound. Playing them may change that though. Great demonstration.
You are competely right, and thanks!
I like the muted p bass and the musicman!
Great demonstration. Like the fender p bass the best. They all sound great.
Thanks
The Sandberg sounds 😍 Came across your videos while searching a review for my Nate Mendel P bass and watched this as well, I love the tone of the Sandberg, I have never played one myself, I have a Warwick streamer, Nate Mendel P bass, Fender Marcus miller mij bass and a Maruszczyk Elwood natural but your Sandberg blew me away!!! Awesome playing by the way, I really like your style 🙌🙌👍
Very cool comparison. I know why I bought a cheap Sterling 35 by music man. But the other basses are very nice, too. Sandberg sounds like the MM. The Fender has also growl, but ist more warm. I like growl, punch und more bite for slapstyle metal fingerplay. But not so extreme like John Myung ;-)
such a good comparison, and some very nice playing!
Thank You
Sandberga Active > Stingray > Postmodern P are my top 3
I really dug the pick on the sheets. I never would have gravitated to that, but the way it sits in the mix and the consistency of sound was good.
In my opinion. The custom shop modern precision sounded the best. It had a nice nap, but still with some good bottom end. The maple neck is what gave it that higher sharper bite.
Damn they all have something to offer, but I’d say the 68 p bass. If you sunk that into the mix that would be the tone for the track that people never stopped talking about.
Awesome tone on all the basses. I always use flats, old school I guess.
Thanks
Nice playing! I think the Sandberg was my fave
Thanks 👍
Music Man Stingray has the nicest punch.
The Stingray sounded like a breath of fresh air. Love it!
Stringray wins
Active basses just sound to clean and hi for for this kind of groove.. the 68 pass has a vibe none of these other basses are even close to capturing!
That's so great, I'm happy for you, but the 68 sounded overall much better, so have the punch award all you want. 👏
Original song was recorded with this bass
Stingray Special absolutely winner
Brate, pojeo si sve cetri gitare! Fantasticno!
Hvala puno 👍
it seems he played even better with the MM
All great, including the player!
My personal preference: low end = Sandberg in passiv mode / rest: Fender CS.
Thanks!
Sandberg killed it! but would love to hear them compared in different styles…
There are some videos on my channel with them all playing different styles.
1968 Fender Precision for me
As a Stingray lover myself, I gotta say the P with the flats is on a whole different level. Damn that was pleasant
Thanks :)
same was rooting for the stingray but those flats gave the song an entire different flavor
great playing!
Thank You
Sandberg passive or Music Man, though Sandberg active wasn't bad either. Thanks for the comparison!
You're welcome :)
Hello, thanks for the video! The one I like the most is the 68 P-bass with flat strings played with a pick and the next one I like the most is the Stingray.
Thanks for watching 👍
I really like the low-mid scooped grunt of the Sandberg, I didn't expect that in that configuration especially not in passive mode, and I think it fits that genre the best. Also liked the searing pull-offs of the MM, actually I loved all your string choices, educational video for me.
I can feel the Sandberg and the Sting Ray in my teeth.
Fender 68 foam stopper clear winner for the laid back jamiriqai grooves.jamiriqai grooves are punchy but the sound must be laid back like a jazz feel, not a disco feel.please try the foam stopper for all these bases, maybe I’m wrong👍🏻🥇
Music Man Stingray Special
fender 68 and stingray are just awesome)))
The 68 with flats sounded the best to me. But I play a P Bass with flats so I could be a bit biased.
Fender P Bass hard to beat
All great. I would choose the stingray.
My vote goes to Fender CS Postmodern - not sure what contributed more to this: bass or strings. But I will definitely try DR Pure Blues on my P-Bass… Thanks for such a good video!
Thank You for watching
All are good in right hands. Nice comparison🔥
Thanks
I like the "Rasp" of the Stingray and the muted flats on the pbass.
They all were awesome, every voice was pleasing to my ears, and you can groove your butt off, thanks for sharing, I’m looking forward to hear more of your playing.
Thank You, Soon there will be a new video :)
Loved that sandberg! However I'd like to hear that '68 P-bass unmuted. I have a '72 P with roto 77 flats and nails that tone without a mute. Great playing!
Thanks. I have some videos on my channel without muted flats on my '68.
all fantastic! for funk i love the musicman but this sandberg is .... wowww
1-P + Roundwounds
2-MusicMan
3-Sandburg
4-Fender Custom Shop
All sound great, but above is my preference.
Custom shop all day long,perfect!
Sandberg Active or the Postmodern were my faves
I have a Cruz Teal Stingray almost like Yours! G&L SB-2, Fender Select Jazz as well, but that Stingray is amazing, I really love the direction they went with the new preamps and hardware
I agree :)
The P-Bass with muted strings is generally the best sounding. The others don't even come close.
That 68 for me was the only one I liked . Sounded perfect
Precision + Thomastik ;-)
but also the Stingray is good playing this track...
Amazing video, thanks for sharing. For this type of music I think the MM shines. The Sandberg in active mode had the fatter sound.
Post modern custom shop. The perfect p bass sound!!!
Thanks, I agree :)
You make me want to try flats again. You make them sound awesome.
Thanks, get one :)
Taj '68. ubija bez konkurencije 💪🏻
I’m surprising myself here, I play a Jazz and thought they Sandberg would be more to my taste, but the Postmodern P had it for me.
Precision is the best! As always!
No, it isn't
