Have you had any issues with the GK as far as unwanted noise? Sounds pretty good here, but I've read some reports of noise with the new Legacies. Thanks!

Old school way better more fuller sound

I like the tone of the Maple. It has more depth and complexity to the tone.

The difference in sound is the wood. The 79' has the old wood that sounds more natural.

First, thanks for taking the time to do this demonstration video! So, for me the overall experience winner goes to the GR for the very distinct sounding notes and recordability. However, with a slow melodic groove, the Ampeg has more warmth and depth.

Great video ! GK wins by a long stretch, the Eich sounds like being under water in comparison. I'm sure that the Eich can dial great tones too but you did it right, having both all flat you hear their natural voice.

I don't know if it feels surf-esque, if it feels like a Bikini Bottom type deal, or a fast paced Latin vibe (samba or something, I don't recall), or a goofy chase, or something. WHAT IS THIS FEEL?!????? IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! All this and I'm not even done watching yet. Lol.

In your other p-bass pickup shoot out video the Seymours came last to me but I gotta say that they shine with flatwounds, they really sang that John Paul Jones melody better than the Fenders. In a trio setting, with room for those lows I'd likely pick them. Awesome video and playing as usual !!, Thank you !!

Great video, thank you for posting !!! Clearly shows that those Classic Vibe Squiers don't need new pups, great strings is better spent $. The Duncans actually sound like a downgrade to be honest. Great playing btw !!

79 is clearly better. I was goig to buy a fender precision but you cant get one now without the new fake pickups. No PJ for me either. Ill buy a used one somewhere i guess. No options for new.

62 totally sounds like that's what the songs want to blend with. One sounds cooler/showy and one sounds like it's a team player.

That could be a commercial for the GK. It sounds so much better...

The Eich is not bad at all, but I'd take the GK any day, again! I prefer its more defined sound without EQ already, but especially 3:55 shows the GK EQ's great design: You can crank any band without getting a honky sound. Compare this to the Eich at 4:10, which has quite a bit of strange resonance in this setting.

It seems the Eich amp is more bass oriented than the GK that it's more mid centric. To my ears anyway. Thank you for this great comparison.

alnico seemed "soft" ceramic better, neo - perhaps clearest but not better in "tone" than ceramic - so is it a matter of gauss ?

The tone control seems to be more powerful on the Sire. The Fender has more treble with the tone 100% off.

The Sandberg Passive sounds the best to my ear (but the P with flats probably sits in the mix better).

I’m surprised how similar the Squire and the Fender ‘62 sound in tone. There are a few subtle differences between each pickup’s tone. But I would have picked either one out of all five choices. I think Seymour Duncan excels with their guitar pickups. There bass pickups are just ok in my opinion with the exception of the SP-1. That’s a good precision pickup. The SP2 rolls off too much of the high-frequency response and sounds compressed. The SP3 also sounds compressed and lacks a mid frequency response. If you like a mid scooped tone, then choose an SP3. A lot a players like that pickup, unfortunately I don’t. I need mids so I can hear myself on a loud stage. The Bill Lawrence is bright and clear. It would be a great pickup if you use a pick and want to hear the attack of picking strings. Sounds similar to EMG active P pickup in my opinion. Thank for doing this pickup comparison.

for the zip tune, that 52 p sounds perfect. but for me playing the music I play, I would prefer the quarter pounder.

Just found the Mxr version and it kicks both of these out the running with even more tonal controls fuller sound more balanced with the ability to to everything both of these do and it's own thing,what ever sound in this category ur looking 4 u can get it with the MXR by dunlop

Prefer the Qtron nano,bass balls too spiky 4my taste, very nasally sounding with only mids and no bottom roundness 😮

I proudly own a Reidmar 502. never heard a clearer amplifier in my opinion. Also the Reidmar is a great pedal platform which much of my tone comes from and then I use the eq for finishing touches. GK is equally great as I really like like upper mid thump that you get from them. great comparison. Both great amplifiers.
