Thanks for that. You spared me 130€. I have the 40th anniversary Vintage and after deciding that it was def a keeper , i updated all harware to gotoh / fender and after seeing that i just changed the pots to cts and a orange cap. What a difference.some of them Squier are really good
Those 40th Anniversary basses are/were amazing for what you got at that price point. I swapped the pickup in my 40th P-Bass with an active EMG Les Claypool Pachyderm Gold P pickup and added the 9V battery… should have kept it for a Sonic…😂
I had a Fender American standard wich I sold . I now I play the Squier olympic white CV 60's jazz, Made in China. And it's absolutely great! plays as good and sound as good as a Fender. Did some changes . CTS pots, Dádario strings and the most important improvement: Apollo jazz pickups, handmade in Amsterdam( The Netherlands) for more warmth and depth. For me it's the best bass I ever owned!
Certainly not enough of a difference to justify the cost, in my opinion. I mean, how advanced can some magnets wrapped in copper wire get? If Squier would make this bass in left-handed, I'd buy it.
Great video really enjoyed it. The squier cv series are a good instrument, The pickups are usually pretty good, it's the cheap electric components that let them down.
Stock pickups finger 3:15 slap 5:36 Fender Original pickups finger 3:31 slap 5:51 I agree with you, no difference! (on slap the Fender Original sounds a bit darker…may be there are really the same pickup model because they have the same sound equalization) But I would be curious to see what happens with Fender CS60 and Pure Vintage 74 pickups...
Thanks for watching. Please delete or correct time markers - they are wrong 🙃. It is stock then Fender all the time in short parts continuing one to another, so You can compare directly (that's why I did not put markers, it would be so many of them). Thanks
They sounded very similar especially wide open, I might install the stock pick ups back in because the Quarter Pounders I put in there don't have that punch I like in a jazz bass
There was a dramatic difference on the distorted sound, but only a subtle difference otherwise. Where i could hear differences, I preferred the Fender. The fact that you had to widen the hole on the pickgaurd decides it for me since I have the 40th anniversary Squier with the annodized guard and i don't want to modify the guard
Not much difference in sound, that’s because the CVs use Fender alnico pickups so they’re gonna sound the same as a fender. The only time you’d change the pickup is if either A: The pickup is dead (or on the verge of being dead) OR B: If you want your instrument to sound different. I should get one of these basses, I have a P Bass that I absolutely love, I think I might like this one a little more
nice comparison, it's not enough to replace the pickups to get the original sound, the other components also make the difference, electronics, wood, alder for fender, the poplar of the squire darkens the sound, I own a jazz fretless squire, what can I say, it sounds good for the dark sounds that I want from it, but having a Fender Jazz there is certainly a difference, that Fender doesn't have a good quality-price ratio, you know, but after all you pay for quality!
the wood on electric instruments has a minimal influence compared to pickups, the important thing is that the woods have a high density, whether it is alder, ash or poplar it does not matter
Yep, very similar sounding. The Classic Vibe series have a very good reputation, and from this demo the reputation is earned.

I'm glad I spared You some money. You can tip 🙂

THANK YOU for helping me to not even bother "upgrading" the pups in this bass! Saved me a bunch of time and money! :)
No problem 👍. You can tip, if You found my video helpful.
Thank you for this comparison. Not so obvious difference between bot sets of pickups.
I own this bass and was surprised that there was no difference between it and my jazz bass with Duncan pups played through my bass rig.

The Fender pickups sound much better to me. More articulation and girth in every example. Squier pickups sound great but definite difference there.
Stock pickups
finger 3:15
slap 5:36
Fender Original pickups
finger 3:31
slap 5:51

Squier for slap, Fender for finger/plek. But nothing a bit of eq'ing couldn't... well, equalize.

Only upgrading mine cuz after 12 years i feel its earned some love lol

The Fenders are worth it - sound much nicer in my opinion
Well, I just saved $250! I hear no truly substantial difference justifying the swap…. Maybe some Fralins would make the difference…
I agree 🙂

Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickups would be my preference. Good review, though. Thanks.

tone woods? lol no

(Unless you can hear it)
Cek harga

Where are the quarter pound?
Sorry, didn't have them
