that is by far for me the best rendition of you'll never walk alone, hairs stand on end, lump in the throat, fantastic support from a great country. be proud Australia that was absolutely immense.
I was working for Victorian Government when we brought Liverpool FC to Melbourne. Sat next to a senior LFC exec at the game that night who said they’d sold more merch that day than any day in their history. Made me proud. YNWA.
Goosebumps........I'm proud to call myself a Liverpool fan. You can keep all of your plastic clubs that buy success..you can't buy passion and love like this..supporting LFC is like being in a family.
+Ed Mundo The only plastic think I see is a game in Melbourne with no Melbourne supporters... that's pretty plastic to me, mate. And buying success? This was posted fairly recent, so you know exactly how much money your club has dumped into the transfer market, and still no success. Your club sucks. "Walk on with hope in you heart, and you'll never get a job. You'll never get a job."
+Ed Mundo You cant get any more plastic than this, plastic fans singing another clubs song, if you want a true scouse experience then go out and rob something and then spend the money on drugs not forgetting to blame everyone else and then claim your the victim.
+jcdfbdus hey, are you watching Liverpool vs Melbourne Victory at Melbourne Cricket Ground Stadium? Seems you know pretty sure there were no Melbourne supporters.
First time I've seen this. This was sensational to say the least. Liverpool fans are renowned the world over for their loyalty to their great club but the Australian fans showed great respect by joining in and helping make the Liverpool anthem ring out to the heavens. You did Liverpool and yourselves proud Australia. I'm not a Liverpool resident nor am I a fan of the club but listening to that anthem made me proud. God bless.
I can only imagine how loud and amazing it must of been, I have it on full volume and I’m sure it doesn’t come close! There’s about 60000 seats at our home ground and it literally makes the stadium vibrate 😂 i hope we expand again so we can fit that amount of people in, that’d be so cool, greetings from Liverpool!
Hope Liverpool will come to Australia on the next tour in 2023..such a fantastic and an amazing fans..i believe Liverpool fan base in Australia is no 1 top rank rather than others English Club..
Greatest support for real? I've been on anfield. Quiet, I've watched the yellow wall. LOUD. A team named Hammarby has also better fans, they play in swedish second league.
villenordia It's like this mate, English fans don't sing for 90mins straight like the germans or whatever (crystal palace the exception) however when the english sing, its BIG! Please remember there are no Ultras in Liverpool so the whole stadium erupts every now and again. I've been there and there's a stark difference between normal league games and CL games.
I am here to pay homage to Stevie G and his team ! THE WAIT IS OVER! Here's to those who have walked through the storms with their heads held high. Here's that promised golden sun and the sweet silver song of a lark! Here's to the next 30 years, WITH - HOPE - IN - OUR - HEARTS!

holy crap, hearing this make me have chills. i can't imagine how the football teams were. having almost 100.000 people singing at same time. Amazing sight no doubt.
One of the best YNWA I've ever heard in 40 years supporting Liverpool. Australia take a bow. That was almost a religious experience. Goosebumps all over. WOW!
I'm not even a Liverpool one but this is amazing, just amazing. I don't think Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City or, despite what their own fans believe, Man Utd have anywhere near such an enormous worldwide appeal or affection in the hearts of global football fans
No trust me MAN UTD have been doing this for years and anywhere they go in the world they've got millions of fans that wants to see them.. Liverpool fan BTW
Maybe FIFA could have seen this and realised that the World Cup could have easily been held in Australia. But no, they had to take bribes and other corrupt shit to send it to a country that most people haven't heard of and has stadiums in cities that don't exist yet.
Stumbling on this 8+ years after it happened and I still remember like it was yesterday. We moved to Aus years ago, and we flew over from Perth to attend this match. The atmosphere rivalled that at Anfield and I was so proud to be able to be part of this moment. Even now, watching this brings tears to my eyes - such a moving song and such an amazing football family to be part of. As we say, it's not a badge, it's a family crest and I truly felt that family love and support on this day. Even before the match, all the fans gathering in Federation Square and singing and chanting was just incredible. Can never watch this too many times. (And even better watching it the day after *that* game at Old Trafford ahaha). You'll Never Walk Alone
Wish I made the trip over from Perth for this. Had already booked leave and cancelled it because of work. I need to go to Anfield at least once with my son in my lifetime. Once this godforsaken pandemic is over :D
The song is from the musical Carousel. Someone at Liverpool FC just happened to like it. All the emotion and romance is imaginary. There's no history to it.
Michael Fisher as a Leicester fan idk about it but that’s gonna be as big Leicester City’s stadium in ten years because as a Leicester fan it takes 5 years on a waiting list for a season ticket and a few months before a game,
@@billytruth6444 Sorry to burst your cynical balloon, but there is indeed history behind the singing. You are right that the song comes from the musical "Carousel,". But the reason it ended up as LFC's anthem is that it was recorded in the sixties, at the height of the Merseybeat era, by a pop group from Liverpool. Gerry and the Pacemakers. It was a huge hit in England and elsewhere. The words of the song reflect the impressive solidarity and sense of community of the people from Liverpool and it was made a hit by one of their own. In the wake of the horror of Hillsborough (check wikipedia) and the solidarity of the people of Liverpool in their fight for justice, I'm sure "their" anthem is now even more important to them.
Most of my family emigrated from Liverpool to Australia 40+ years ago, three generations later they still all support LFC, loads of more "settled" relatives joining the family all seem to support them as well. They still get tatoos of YNWA and play it at weddings and funerals. LFC is in their DNA.
There were so many who did leave as part of the 10 pound pom program. I wonder how many have ever made it back to England again, maybe that is why so many sung this so passionately a way to celebrate the old country without having to anything to do with the England national side where of course the sporting rivalry we have dominates the banter between us, Australians are definitely our favourite rivalry to have as it is not bitter or mean spirited mostly it is just ribbing one another and having a laugh, I have always had a lot of time and respect for Australians.

Been to almost every ground worth going too in world football. Nou Camp, Bernebeau, Anfield etc. This was the loudest I ever heard a crowd. It was deafening that day
Only one thing comes close- ''Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau'' in Cardiff before a rugby international match. Both spine tingling and emotional, but this crowd in Melbourne were really special! I've been to both Anfield and Cardiff's national stadium, sung both songs/hymns, and I will never forget the experiences!!

Great comment about Australian supporters of sport. We sit and watch sports will our rivals. Some could be family members, most are strangers though. Sport in Australia isn't about excluding it's about including.
+Karen Walker Hang on a minute... I am Australian and a diehard Liverpool supporter and have been since the early 90's when I worked in a pub that broadcast epl... That's how I discovered it. I watch every single season which on multiple occasions has me getting up at 3,4,5 in the morning to watch live... I am not an English ex pat nor are my parents or grandparents from England and I love the reds and consider myself a Liverpool fan. Australian's are sport-o-holics believe me. The epl is extremely popular and has been for many many years... it trends in Australia every single weekend and there's loads of people that walk round wearing a huge variety of different European football shirts.
They ARE Liverpool supporters you tit... Just because they don't live on Breck road, doesn't mean they aren't fellow reds. Can't exactly expect Aussies to be season ticket holders can you for fucks sake >.
Guys i think what karen meant was that the supporters arent from Liverpool, but that the Liverpool F.C Supporters in Australia Really know how to create an Atmosphere that is Anfield worthy; and she Respects that
I am an absolute die hard The Arsenal supporter. But Liverpool are most definitely my second team. I was only 13 in 1989, but that was the day not only did I jump for joy for my club, but Liverpool also got me. Especially with what happened that year. Love my Scouse cousins!
to those wondering why this was such a great ynwa, although a lot of these fans support both clubs, a lot are ex pats or have family ties to Liverpool, there is a massive English community in Australia
When I feel down, I watch this, and I think, maybe this world is not as bad as we are led to believe , Got bless Liverpool, God bless you wonderful Australians...………..
Arvind Lakshminarayanan Haha yeah, the movement just caught my eye for some reason, so I went back and watched it again to check I'd seen what I thought I'd seen. Made me laugh!
Can I just say that when a whole heap of massive European clubs like Manchester City, Real Madrid and Roma came and played that pre season tournament (not to the pre season going on now with Athletico, Tottenham and Juventes) in Melbourne and are playing like 2 games a week, not a lot of people attended. However when Liverpool came to Australia, they managed to pack 95,000 fans that traveled far to see the team. It's sad to see young kids today follow Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City just because they are good. Liverpool fans over here in Australia are loyal and passionate. I mean heck so many woke up at 3 in the morning to watch the Europa league final and stayed in the pub till the final whistle. People may mock Liverpool and the fact that they haven't won a Premier League, but there is not doubting that we are the most loyal and best fans in the world and all you have to do is watch this video to prove that.
fletcho909 Hahahah...they have to win at least 15 leagues and about 3 european cups before they can be classed a big club like Liverpool United Real Barca Juve Ajax AcMilan Bayern..they are miles away from those illustrious clubs histories... 13000 at the mcg against roma hahahahaha last summer.
Further proof that Melbourne is the premier sporting city on the planet. This is one of the biggest crowds Liverpool has played in front of in it's history. A spine tingling moment.
My sons and I have been at Anfield and sung YNWA .... always memorable. However, NOTHING tops that magic night when my sons and I travelled from Sydney to sing YNWA at the G!!! Absolutely brilliant!!! C'mon you red men!!!
only at the might MCG, host Aussie Rule, cricket futbol (soccer) Tugby ( Union and league) Gaelic football, Wrestling, Concerts, the odd Baseball game, Army HQ, Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games even earmarked for Gridiron (YUK).........
I remember riding my motorbike past the stadium when this Happened. was loud as. Edit: 60+ likes, thanks It was amazing to hear. i cant explain the roar of the crowd when the song finished (chills)
BikeStuff ive been at anfield against barca city and roma and bayern and can confirm the song ends the ROAR that anfield unleashes is something from a different planet
I am a Chelsea fan but this is amazing to watch. 95, 000 people at the MCG belting out "You'll Never Walk Alone" in front of a national and global audience of millions. Tipping them to win the title for the very first time in the Premier League era.
Just a shame we cant all come together like that for GREAT BRITAIN.

seems like a lot of people from liverpool in the comments moved over there, im in liverpool myself but my sister in law who is from down south she moved over to aus an was there for about 12 years or something, i know it was long enough that she ended up with an aus accent an is classed as an aus cos she has a passport but im not sure how long you have to be in the country to be classed as a citixenn

that is by far for me the best rendition of you'll never walk alone, hairs stand on end, lump in the throat, fantastic support from a great country. be proud Australia that was absolutely immense.
Wow. Watching this from Texas, USA and this brought me to tears. And this is 2021. Doesn’t matter. This was awesome!!!!!!
I’m a Manchester United fan, but this is easily one of the best moments in the history of Australian sport, possibly sport in general.
What it shows is that Australia has a lot of foreigners especially Brits .
But everyone knows that . Not many Australian born is my bet

Man U fan from the states, hearing this from the game couple weeks ago was simply amazing

I was working for Victorian Government when we brought Liverpool FC to Melbourne. Sat next to a senior LFC exec at the game that night who said they’d sold more merch that day than any day in their history.
Made me proud. YNWA.
I vote Australia to host the world cup.
Wow that helped heaps man
badly qatar won 😂
Yeah Australia is a good place to held unlike freaking Qatar well we'll have tanned players by the time it finishes
+GreyFox985 Wrong time zone, mate.
Who cares us Aussies wake up 3am to watch the World Cup so why don't you!
Goosebumps........I'm proud to call myself a Liverpool fan.
You can keep all of your plastic clubs that buy success..you can't buy passion and love like this..supporting LFC is like being in a family.
Chelsea fan But this is amazing. God I love Melbourne and this song.
+Ed Mundo I'm proud to call myself an australian
God bless.
THIS RENDITION OF YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS

When I feel down I always listen to YNWA in what ever guise…. Always makes me smile

Mandy McCulloch Shit football club, no one likes scousers, Liverpool is a shithole

I am an Aussie and I was there. Every now and then I just put this on to try and remember the feeling!
How bout you support ur local bud or do u only like success u glory hunter

You are so clearly not a United fan
evidently a united fan.
WoodssM32 your right... I clearly am not :D
Brought tears to my 87 year old eyes. BRAVO, from Titusville, Fl USA
Tremendous, glad you liked it, stay cool Gilbert!
Thank you...
@@gengreb75 Cheers from Australia Gilbert!
Especially last season missing out at the last game! Well done Liverpool!
The sportsmanship before the game impressed me. The emotion displayed during the song moved me more than I expected. Beautiful.
As a Manchester United supporter, this is truly emotional and spectacular. Kudos to everyone involved and participating
Thanks for the comment!
I've been to anfield many many times.... can I just say, this is epic!!! Hats off to our brothers down under.. Australia is an awesome country..
im an everton fan an ill probably get stick for this but this video gives me goosebumps, like some fans might say oh ill never listen to a rival team song but banter aside, this song makes me think of the 97 who died, like its a big thing each year, i dont know if you know but in 2016 on st georges hall thousans and thousands of people gathered around to hear justice being done i didnt go cos i wouldnt of been able to handle it but i saw videos an they sung YNWA and abide with me and abide with me always gets to me
I love this song, being an Australian from Birkenhead, Liverpool I love this team and this song always makes me so happy and reminds me of my beloved home.
I'm not a soccer fan but i am an Australian and my brother is a huge Liverpool fan so this is absolutely beautiful....it gives me goosebumps everytime. Huge love to the many Liverpool fans around the world and my thoughts go to the families and friends of those who lost their lives years ago in that tragic accident. Respect from Sharon, Bendigo Victoria Australia 🇦🇺

One of the best YNWA I've ever heard in 40 years supporting Liverpool. Australia take a bow. That was almost a religious experience. Goosebumps all over. WOW!
Imagine being a player and seeing these fans singing their hearts out for your team.. 😍😍
Liverpool have the best Fans of the world.
Respect from France !
No matter who you support this truly is amazing support and a emotional reception for Liverpool.
When you are part of LFC you will NEVER walk alone!
Thinking of the 96 angels and their loved ones.....RIP
God bless the 96 YNWA
I'm not even a Liverpool one but this is amazing, just amazing. I don't think Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City or, despite what their own fans believe, Man Utd have anywhere near such an enormous worldwide appeal or affection in the hearts of global football fans
Maybe try visiting an African country to see the affection for Arsenal, and anywhere in the far east for United..
United are our equals, no shame in admitting that.
Arsenal and United have a massive fan base in China/Asia and probably anywhere in the worlf
U mean Brazil or Russia
mrinfamousbanana Russia
everyones heard of Russia its one of the biggest countries and a lot of people are from there.
Russia has at least had some sporting successes, but Qatar has nothing.
Spastic
Bloody Aussies. How is anyone going to outdo this example of classy sportsmanship?
nearly 6 years on and I still love watching this - what a crowd. YNWA
yep! me too, 6 yrs on and it still makes me cry
I can't believe it's six years.
I flew from the Alice, tears in eyes singing YNWA. A dream come true. And Stevie G scored. Can't get any better then that.
Wish I made the trip over from Perth for this. Had already booked leave and cancelled it because of work. I need to go to Anfield at least once with my son in my lifetime. Once this godforsaken pandemic is over :D
Kerry, what a beautiful comment! I enjoyed reading it so much. Hope you are still enjoying life in Perth, W.A. Blessings to you from Queensland.
The MCG is in Melbourne not Perth
@@mrhaz8939 and? I am from Perth and state that I flew over from Perth to Melbourne to see this match. Not sure what your point is?
One of the most emotional and beautiful moments in sport.
In the wake of the horror of Hillsborough (check wikipedia) and the solidarity of the people of Liverpool in their fight for justice, I'm sure "their" anthem is now even more important to them.
from a Chelsea fan..this..THIS IS Amazing..pure CLASS
Hope one day Gerrard would win the EPL..
RESPECT the Man..^_^
Most of my family emigrated from Liverpool to Australia 40+ years ago, three generations later they still all support LFC, loads of more "settled" relatives joining the family all seem to support them as well.
@@murdershe......7378 In my case my Grandparents never returned, even my Aunties and Uncles never returned even for visits, of my numerous cousin's just a few have visited some after 40 years. Mine too 1965 10 pound poms, named after Ian St John, i have a son Keegan. That night was incredible i was there. Never would a reds player have experienced this before, 95, 000 plus all going for you. Y.N.W.A all !
Been to almost every ground worth going too in world football. Nou Camp, Bernebeau, Anfield etc. This was the loudest I ever heard a crowd. It was deafening that day
I was there too I was crying
As a die hard Spurs fan in England, that was amazing, I hope Liverpool win the Premiership this season, they deserve it.
I watch this sometimes just to get goosebumps..
One of the best renditions I have ever heard just brilliant what a crowd what a team
If this doesn’t move you you have a heart of stone. Wonderful rendition of the best football anthem.
You'd think it was in England. This is Australia national stadium man. It just looks like Melbourne was the away team. All these aussie lfc fans. I love it. truly a special moment.

A great day in football thanks to Australia! (And no I'm not Australian...I'm form Liverpool!) Thanks Australia for showing how football clubs can get on as it should be... ! RESPECT
I'm Australia and a Liverpool supporter and have been since the 70's. They are welcome back here anytime if they come to Queensland
They ARE Liverpool supporters you tit... Just because they don't live on Breck road, doesn't mean they aren't fellow reds. Can't exactly expect Aussies to be season ticket holders can you for fucks sake >.
Guys i think what karen meant was that the supporters arent from Liverpool, but that the Liverpool F.C Supporters in Australia Really know how to create an Atmosphere that is Anfield worthy; and she Respects that
Congratulations Australia. This is the best YNWA I have ever heard! Truly amazing 👏 🙌 👌
