    For your information, others reviewers have also mentioned that upper corner focus noticeably improves after 20-30 mins of run time. So it seems like a consistent observation.

    Keeping things evenly balanced, visuals of this price range IMO warrants as proper surround sound setup. However, when one goes with a short-throw projector one is likely to experience Centre channel placement issues.

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  10 месяцев назад

      Yes that is something to consider and I will be taking a look at this issue inthe new year most likely. To be fair it’s mostly I think because the screen size is so big and that would be similar with a tv of this size too. So it will be interesting to tackle the challenge and see what happens :)

    Excellent Terry… I will say the AWOL looked more natural to me and I was strongly considering buying the Formovie due its contrast & black levels. Might be the settings but the Formovies colors in the demos looked really over saturated & honestly overcooked. I’m sure one could tweak. Thx for the great video!

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  10 месяцев назад +2

      Yes the awol has a special ability where it looks like your looking at the real thing rather than an image of something that happened and was made into a video. I liked the strong colours I always turn the colour saturation setting up some to get that :)

    Hi Terry, I have the Cinema 2, the predecessor to the Theatre and the focus issue is exactly the same (annoying as you can't focus during playback too!) - it most likely has the same optical block which expands the top edge slightly as it warms up... I now start mine off with the top of the picture an inch or so below the top of the screen border, in around half an hour of it running it fills the frame.

  • @cyphermote6857
    @cyphermote6857 7 месяцев назад +1

    Thanks Terry... love the review but the colours just seem over the top. We get this sort of tech to attempt to re-experience a movie theatre - not an LCD screen (seemingly from a long time ago). You mentioned getting a professional colour calibration done... are there any pre-sets to set natural colour or mimic a real movie theatre? Maybe my requirements are too lofty... and I should just think along the lines of replacing my TV only with these things. Is it a price point factor?

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  7 месяцев назад

      I think firstly it’s important to consider the typical washed out colours of projectors is not a desirable thing - the colours on projection should be the same as on OLED tv which is richly saturated because of the black level.
      More important than that is you can’t trust my video or how your seeing my video to be 100% accurate. My colour grading is not 100% right but also your seeing HDR recorded on my camera in HDR that’s then converted to SDR and then graded by me then adjusted by RUclips then adjusted by your viewing medium whatever it is.
      You have a number of settings and a typical set of picture controls here like colour that you adjust the slider for more or less, but in reality you probably wouldn’t touch that much

    Great reviews . Keep up the good work . I am testing the xgimi horizon ultra at the moment. And i really like it so far .but would you go for the extra mile and choose the formovie. Since you seen both projectors in action . How would you compare these two in contrast , colors and brightness . I love seen lord of the rings on the big screen . And the xgimi done a great job but i am thinking the formovie can preform better?thanks for your input and reviews .

    I love my Formovie projector but there are definite downsides, like you can't stick a thumb drive in there and just watch movies that you have on it. It does not open your thumb drive and allow you to view anything. I wrote them and they said to use the VLC media player. Lame! Dolby Vision is a great picture while watching movies but it would be nice if it was brighter.

      I preferred the AWOL for HDR because of the brightness and clarity that worked better with this screen, however I preferred the colours and richness of the image of the Formovie and SDR on the Formovie was better. So its a good one for a lot less cash :)

    Terry, have you gone Bonkers! The LTV 3500 Pro is a whole level above the Formovie. As you stated Formovie has Focus issues, gets muddy in the corners, needs 45 minutes to warm up, turn the lights on and picture disappears as it did halfway through your video. Did they pay you for this advertisement? The AWOL LTV 3500 not only has the best picture overall, HDR, DV, HDR 10+ but it has 3D, EBL, 3500 Lumens, a REAL glass F 2.0 lens that is the biggest in the category, can hold HD up to 150”. The LTV 2500 and the Formovie have been in competition with each other for over year and The LTV 2500 seems to be the choice over the Formovie, that unit is around $2k. The LTV 3000 Pro is around $3800. You didn’t mention the color wheel that the Formovie has. Comparing it to the LTV 3500 Pro doesn’t make much sense.

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  10 месяцев назад +4

      Fair comments and criticism. The 3500pro is a lot more money so yes it’s better in a lot of ways but it’s a lot more money that is important to consider.
      I didn’t know about the colour wheel I missed that by mistake. The formovie has some very big positives though so it’s important to be fair and mention them which I did. My final comments I like the colours and there is a lot to like about it which is true

    • @homemediapatrol3784

      @@PursuitPerfectSystemTerry you know the package they gave you is on sale for $5999. That is the LTV 3500 and their 120” Floor Rising Screen that you mentioned you really like. That screen costs $3000. Do the Math, with the savings on the screen it’s $2999. What would you pick now, The AWOL Vision Bundle or the Formovie that doesn’t include the screen?

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  10 месяцев назад +4

      Yes that is a fantastic deal at the moment and if you don’t have a screen and can afford 6 grand it’s a great option, one I would very much recommend if you see my review I was very complimentary about the duo.
      But past this Black Friday that won’t apply and my videos live forever and if you already own a screen then it’s a different proposition so I try and look at things a little more broadly an RRP of $3500 is a very different proposition to $5999. 6 grand is a lot of money and might be beyond what someone can ever afford.
