I love your comment on not trying to be Bob Ross and just trying to reinvent a new interest in wet on wet painting. This is exactly what Bob did and how he brought new interest into this type of painting. Love your work Josh!
From Philippines...its already 7:38 in the evening...Love the painting so much...I learned painting last 5 years ago and I stopped painting because I have no any materials to use then...I tried to paint on the cloth sack of flour...it is called catsa in our dialect...and also i tried on wall(mural)...since then i haven't try to hold a brush until this days cause I have no material and time
I love this painting. I can see ski track running down the mountain around the trees heading for the ski lodge to warm up. I know you didn't put them in there, but my mind's eye can see them.
I’ve been wanting to get into painting since I’ve only ever drawn and sketches before! 21 now but hopefully can get this skill in:) and my fave sandwich is from this sub shop in Chicago I get a corned beef sub😎
I have painted my first oil painting yesterday with your instruction for this winters bliss. 😊🎉 Bob Ross and you inspired me to try oil painting. Thanks for that 😁 Can you tell, how long the painting has to dry? And what do you use for the finish? Only the dammar gloss finish or do you use a Finish spray also?
Josh, you crack me up. Now I'm saying "Fantastic" through everyday 👏. I do like your accent a lot! I know you live in Nevada, but are you from Chicago with that accent. I'm from Texas and fav sandwich PB & J...👀
Great work. I have a question on dry time. There are many products on the market. Do you anything on your paintings ? Is there a product that can be mixed with liquid clear? Thanks
I talk about it often... Drying time depends largely on the thickness of the layers of paint, and your climate plays a big part. I don't use anything on my paintings. Over time, I've gotten better at using less paint, shortening the drying time. Living in arid Las Vegas really helps them dry out faster
White will brighten any color you're trying to thin. So for tree limbs and stuff that need to stay dark, thinner is best. Or liquid clear. Depends on which is closer lol

Beautiful Josh, it’s a favorite. Question, if both thinner and liquid white can thin the paint, why use one over the other?

Hello, what is the material that you put on the paintbrush before starting any step? Can you answer me?
❤
Oil paint
Dear Josh my liquid white is dry already. I can't get my painting look as soft as yours??
Your canvas might not have been gessoed properly. In that case, the liquid White soaks in and dries too quickly. Happens on cheap canvas.
what is your opinion on Gamsol to thin paint & clean brushes?
Never tried it
