I just started painting about 8 months ago right after I got my last cancer treatment. I am now in remission. Anxiety was consuming my life till I found the world of art. It had always been in my blood, brewing, and now is my passion. My family is full of artist's. I hope to someday be great!!! I absolutely have been inspired by you and many others. Thank you!!! 🎨 🖼 ❤

Painting helped me when my wife died. I felt everything came to an end. I picked up my knife and thru tears I painted a mountain scene. Right after that, I knew things would get better for me.

Painting had the opposite affect with me. My GF died in 2011 and for some weird reason I associated painting with her and it took me yrs of PTSD, and therapy to finally be able to pick up a brush.
So glad art helps you deal with your grief

I love this style of painting. Brings back the beloved Bob Ross and his mentor Bill Alexander. The brushes give a beautiful effect and your natural talent really shines. Your color sense is inspiring. Keep doing it your way.

@12:44-45 "I'll just pull some of this brown into it..." brilliant!
I like the way you "break the rules" and do something unique! Your blending technique is spot on,mate! Wow! What a difference it makes in mountain scenery! It gives the colors all the attention that God gives in his blending. If that were a guitar stroke, fans would say, " Wow! What a stroke! (slide, bend, whatever) great vid!

Looks like it took weeks (not an hour). I chose this for your clouds and sky technique (for a backgammon board I’m painting) and ended up learning so much more, wow! Your palette knife job on the mountain was phenomenal - - even my partner stopped what he was doing, to watch in awe! Thanks, too, for your constant talking on what your doing throughout your painting. You’re a natural artist! You showed me that I can use oils now (and stop using acrylics, which dry too quickly for me, even with extenders). you’ve proven that you can paint layers upon layers without having to wait hours for oils to dry; a game-changer for me. Thank you so much :)

Whasaaa! Dude! You pushed the mountain into the back, yet brought it forward! Looks like I am walking on that ridge! What a hit! Thank you for showing that mountains dont have to be flat and just snow covered. You are right! Too much white takes away from the other effects. A most enjoyable vid; from start to signature finish!

Breathtaking to see the final results of this 'easy' mountain vista, Justin! The really incredible thing to realize is that it is all just various colors of oil paint, applied in creative ways to simulate a landscape right out of nature... with the one difference: it is all from your own imagination! I am a left-handed artist as well, so, this one will be on my list of future paintings! Thanks for sharing! Great job! Love your easy-going style of teaching too! I'm a subscriber!

    Hey my brother!
Another awesome painting!! You really are quite expert at mountains . As you know, the entire key to becoming a great paint artist is knowing how to mix colors without creating muck! Also, you have a really solid grasp on light and shadow as well!!
Of course we (people in general) all have our own style and techniques, but there are specific steps we have to take unless you enjoy mud pies!! ")
    Then it's composition!!
    Love your work brosephus!

It is absolutely spelling-binding to watch you bring the mountain scenery to life. I live in the mountains and this painting makes me feel like I have just rounded the path and came upon the river. I especially liked the dead tree, as they are certainly part of mountain living, and this has continued to encourage me to take up painting in the near future.

Thank you, Justin. You are a great guy and your painting is really fantastic. When you said you started painting a couple years ago I was surprised and I decided right there that I would try oil painting some time soon. Thank you, again.

This is beautiful. It might be simple to you, but it is very instructional to those of us watching. I will definitely be trying this one. Like the different tool use & adding the trees etc to the water!! Thank you Justin!!
