A video i saw recently by HDRookie mentioned this. The reason they didn’t include this was probably because it looked like the Shy Guy was doing… certain… things to your character when it latches on, and I doubt Nintendo wanted to have that issue again.
One thing I've always wondered, why can't you get multiple colours of Toad like you can with Yoshi, Birdo and Shy Guy? Toad is the character I play most so I would really like them to add that.
My biggest gripe with the sunset wilds situation is that if they couldn’t figure out how to incorporate the sunset, then why bother adding the track? Especially with tour releasing much better super circuit remakes like yoshi desert and lakeside park?
Actually playing I think I prefer sunset wild. I modded MK8DX to play those two tracks but Yoshi Desert you feel to much that you drive in a square and lakeside has pretty much no shortcut
It's an easy thing to fix, just tie it to the music. When the 3rd lap music comes on, turn it to night. Does that mean that in split screen it'll be night on lap 2 for some players? Yeah, but who cares, they're not winners.

you can cut that coconut mall corner with the glider just not that severely, you can go over the toll booth gate just fine and it lines you up to get past the shy guys too

10:23 Bowsers Castle 3 (SNES) actually got a really good 3D remake in tour recently and it was basically completely redesigned (with the original layout still intact). They added a bunch of inclines and ramps which look like they would fit perfectly in 8 with anti-grav, so i dont think youll be disappointed by what we get Also, fun fact about the missing waluigi pinball sound effect. Its actually in the course preview of the track, so they did go out of their way to remake the sound, but either they completely forgot and nobody has noticed it yet, or they just dont wanna add it to the course itself
Maybe there’s a glitch that’s preventing the jungle from playing, maybe there’s a toggle in the code for if it plays or not and it’s been disabled by mistake and a developer just needs to reenable it, possibly.
13:36 Since Koopa Cape still has the pipe sound effect for when you enter the underwater section but VERY lowered (probably so it’s not too obnoxious while playing multiplayer), there’s still a chance it will come back in wave 6. They also have it on the course intro so they don’t have to create a new sound for it :D
I've mentioned it before, but Sunset Wilds doesn't have the sunset because 8DX uses baked lighting, which sticks the skybox and lighting in place. Tour also uses this, but there it just moved the skybox down. I'm guessing why 8DX doesn't do this is because they thought that the more detailed background compared to the flatter one in Tour would make the skybox shifting look weird...? But, yeah, it still sucks that Sunset Wilds doesn't have the first part of it's name in the track, and I'm hoping Nintendo can find a work-around to this.
Thank you. This is in fact the reason why the sunset will almost surely not be fixed, I feel it's pretty useless to ask for a change in the first place. I'm not mad at Nintendo for not changing the skybox, I'm mad at Nintendo for having brought back this track in the first place when we had much better alternatives from Super Circuit (Bowser Castle 4 was remade incredibly well in Tour, and we need new Bowser tracks)
I'm more upset at how much they nerfed moonview highway. The original version was one of the hardest courses in the series, but this new one? The "obstacles" are so easy to avoid they might as well have left the road empty and called it moonview circuit, because it most definitely is not a highway anymore 💀
In Wave 4 They Actually Added a Shortcut to Berlin Byways! So there’s a chance the Coconut Mall Glider one might be added as well! Sunset Wilds is a MUST Fix though
I don't think Nintendo changed the out of bounds zones in Berlin Byways specifically for the shortcut. It's probably because of how little space you had when jumping off a Whomp originally. You could go flying and get picked up by Lakitu just because it wasn't right above the road. Apparently Mario Kart Tour didn't do it, but I can imagine the engine not allowing the lighting to change during a race could decrease the chances of a sunset-night transition being added to Sunset Wilds. Imagine the skybox changing to night and all the objects still have the sunset lighting. Hopefully it doesn't look bad. If it is added, the Swoops better appear near the end like in Mario Kart Tour when it changes to night (not in Time Trials, of course).

2 nitpicks on the miis 1.Amiibo costumes- I wish they also had unique animations when you do tricks like the newly added ones. 2. I wished they added all off the tour mii costumes or at least have ones based on the characters that didn't make it kind of like how they did it with the mii costumes in smash.
Another thing about Sky Garden and Sunset Wilds is that they have simplified layouts compared to their GAMEBOY ADVANCE originals, even when other super circuit tracks don’t have that
Oh my God yes! I still think Mario Kart DS has the best Sky Garden rendition thanks to the oversimplified layout that also removed various parts removed in Tour/8 Deluxe's rendition (especially the shortcuts being removed)

btw there is a way to cut the corner in coconut mall, while on the glider, drift off of it and turn on tilt controls while u are in the air. u can change back to button controls once u hit the ground. i used to play this game competitively and it was quite popular to do this in tournaments and time trial leaderboards.
I want to adjust the Volume of the Music, the Voices, and Sound Effects Separately. I just want to listen to the music, but it's hard to do with the Characters screaming all the time.
Never played that track, but I’ve heard good reviews about it so I wouldn’t mind seeing it. As for me, I’d wanna pick N64 or 7’s bowser castle since they’re more about building atmosphere.
I have another one: the trees on vancoover velocity suspension bridge section, the cave section of mushroom gorge and the mushroom of 3ds RR are just floating on the void.
5:26 I never understood the argument that lightning under water wouldn’t make sense. You can literally get shocked underwater from the lightning item… not to mention the fireballs, or the underwater lava of BC from MK7 - I feel like the original reason it was changed was because maybe they thought the cheep cheeps were good enough enemies to replace the lightning but now there’s nothing there
Yeah, the least it could have been 3DS Mario Circuit but NOOOO DS Mario Circuit was much more important because this is Nintendo we’re talking about, that would have made to much sense, that would have made people happy
7:06 or u can color code it like lap 1 is red, lap 2 is blue and lap 3 is yellow and if laps share the same track area they can just mix the colors like if lap 2 and 3 have a area that meet, they can make that area green for example
I could be wrong, but I'm absolutely willing to bet that after wave six, there's gonna be one, super-final cup added. Think about it - Unless Wave Six makes the PERFECT of perfect course choices (which it probably won't), there's gonna be atleast one fan favorite track not included. Plus, with wave six, we'll be at 96 total courses - A sizeable number, but a bit of a weird one to cap something on. I'd reckon that one final bonus cup would not only add in those last couple of fan favorites (Or really doll up some completely left field picks), but would ALSO round up the total track number to a nice, clean, and even 100!
The change in Sunset Wilds is unfortunate, but it makes sense given the platform. As I understand it, the sky changes based on your lap and location on the track. In Super Circuit and Tour, every player is looking at their own screen, so the sky can have the appropriate appearance for each person no matter where they are. But since 8 Deluxe has local multiplayer, you can have multiple players on the same screen, so there's no real way to make the mechanic work properly. It's a shame, but it's understandable.
@@CyaninAnimator Those are just changing the direction specific racers are able to go. That's fairly easy, just make sure each player is guided in the direction they're supposed to be going. But changing the sky for whoever is in the lead would throw the whole thing out of sync for everyone else.
I know people say that Wii Rainbow Road will be in the final wave because of the rumors and leaks about the track, but honestly I would like to see GCN Rainbow Road to be in the final wave. For me, due to to the fact we have a lot of Wii tracks in the BCP but getting little of GCN tracks since wave 4, I wouldn't be surprised to have another GCN track. I'm hoping that one GCN track is Rainbow Road, mainly because of how nostalgic the track is and the way it is designed. Maybe I like GCN rainbow road a bit too much, but I'm hoping this does happen in the final wave.
I wish the Mii's appear as CPU being randomly chosen. That's something that bothered me in SSBU as well (but also SSB4), where I have to select the Mii Fighters manually to appear as CPU's and not being chosen by random. My other nitpick is that there's no award ceremony anymore after the cup. I love to see the characters on the podest without being in their karts/bikes in Mario Kart Wii, it's kinda disappointing that we just got to see the trophy and the list of players and that's it.
I honestly hope wave 6 brings a shocking banger something weve never seen before so imagine if they expand all the cups in mario kart booster course? Like that you can have the original 4 tracks while having the expanded one that is like 10 courses per cup
Some opinions on these nitpicks: I get that they made coconut mall’s escalators a lot easier to tell apart… but I don’t get how people ever got confused with them back in wii, like even during my first plays of the track, I was easily able to tell which was the right one (especially due to the pianta pointing to the correct side in wii). Also, the escalators being smooth make them much more fun to drive on. However, I do agree that the glider corner is a little bit strict, even if the red and white bar is a good indicator on where you can go. For sky high sundae, I may be the only person who enjoys the track and the camera thing doesn’t seem to be a problem for me. You can land safely if you carry on going straight and even if you do mess up the angle, the low gravity lets you easily re-adjust. For the items, PLEASE NINTENDO DO NOT BRING BACK THE FIB. Having both coins and fibs acting as non-protection items for 1st place would be way too frustrating for frontrunning and would make bagging an even better strategy, which a lot of people (including me) wouldn’t enjoy. I personally would like to see the heart and bowser shell from double dash. Finally, fuck Mario circuit DS. It’s my pick for the worst BCP track. At least toad circuit is ok as a starter track (which makes sense to have for wave 1) and snes Mario circuit 3 is a decent choice relative to other snes tracks. Not only is DS Mario circuit a basically definitively worse Mario circuit added in 8, but it stole slots from the mentioned airship fortress, Delfino square (my personal favourite track in the entire series) and Luigi’s mansion. This is the Byleth of the BCP
Hard agree. I think this new version of DS Mario Circuit is way better than the original but Airship Fortress definitely deserved that last slot more imo. Other than they condensed everything to not make it super long like the original, they really didn’t do much to justify its return aside from “it was never remade before” which imo is kind of a lousy excuse if it isn’t bringing anything new to the table.
Don't give up hope that Airship Fortress will come to the Booster Course Pass. According to the leak, we are getting 2 GCN tracks for the last wave. The 3 GCN tracks that are in Tour but not 8 Deluxe are DK Mountain, Dino Dino Jungle, and Mushroom Bridge. Since DK Mountain and Dino Dino Jungle share similar themes, I think we are only getting one of them. Mushroom Bridge is too easy for Wave 6 and considering we got Moonview Highway last wave, I don't think it's coming back. With only 1 GCN track most likely coming back, I think they'd be likely to bring back a different retro track. Airship Fortress seems to be the most likely retro track for this slot considering it's a fan favorite track that appeared in Tour.
Mushroom Bridge isn’t too easy for wave 6. It has more Special Cars than Moonview (Wiggler Bus and Mushroom Cars, both added back in tour), and it’s pretty narrow (not as narrow as the cliffside in Moonview, but way narrower than the city.) In all honesty, it could be harder than Moonview should it come, considering the nerf it got in 8 with fewer and slower cars (Man does the city feel empty.) Layout alone doesn’t make it easy, and it would be the perfect track for the second of the acorn cup. As for the “Too Similiar to Moonview”, may I remind you that DK Summit came after TWO Mountain tracks, one of them being snowy. They could have moved it to wave 5, but nope. I think Nintendo only cares about not clashing with the wave they are doing, hence why 3 barely passes with the mountains being different. You are right though. Airship is the best and most likely replacement, assuming they do so.
Would love Airship Fortress back but the copium is real with this one 💀 Mushroom Bridge and DK Mountain are for sure 100% coming in Wave 6 even if they have “similarities” to Moonview Highway and DK Summit.
@@rebirthphoenix5646 Well you never know. I’m not saying Mushroom Bridge is guaranteed but the problems people have with it don’t really exist (aside from not liking it). Plus it’s possible that it could be Dino Dino instead of DK Mountain. 50/50 at this point.
@@daybroken2281 Yeah technically nothing is confirmed because none of the 8 Wave 6 tracks are in any of 8 Deluxe’s datamines. It’s just from extensively looking at leaks, datamines, comparisons, etc. you can basically guess the probability of the tracks coming in and in the end I basically concluded that Mushroom Bridge is a near lock (again no 8 Deluxe datamine confirms it), and DK Mountain probably has like a 90%+ chance of happening over Dino Dino Jungle.
I don’t think Nintendo cares about difficulty in the BCP. I feel MB is still coming since there are 2 GCN tracks coming to Wave 6 and we’re supposed to have 4 GCN tracks in the BCP. I feel Double Dash needs move love for the tracks.
it sounds nice but there is already a bit of a problem with people using the same character + kart combo, adding in special items just widens the gap between 'viable' combos

10:24 The person who was talking about Bowser Castle was referring to SNES Bowser Castle 3, not the GBA one. And believe me, the Tour version of SNES BC3 is regarded as the best SNES retro because of the elevation changes and other things. People even say that the whole track having elevation was was made it a 100% lock for the BCP.
13:20 So the Waluigi Pinball sound effect actually IS still there, but 1.) it only plays on random intervals, not when you enter it, and 2.) it's so quiet in comparison to all the other sound effects and music playing during the race that you cant hear it during regular gameplay. It does, however, play in the course intro.
Another thing that not many people talk about is that in Mario kart 7 wiggler actually would move his upper hands back and it looked like he was Naruto running it wasn’t much but it gave the game more charm but they got rid of it in the 8 version
I agree with most these! I would argue sunset wilds is more than a nitpick though, it kinda takes away the only appeal of the track with how overly simple they made it. I think for the battle courses we could get them in wave 6, as there are only a few in tour and everything in the bcp is from tour. Also, I like skyhigh sundae....
I feel like the thing with the escalators was justified in 7 since the 3DS's screen was half the resolution of the Wii and they removed the pianta that waved at the correct escalator, but in 8DX it's a bit overkill.

I hate the amount of hate the SNES tracks get. Like yeah there not as interesting as other courses but there not bad and still a lot of fun. And personally I like them because it's nice to have a simple track after so many complex ones.
My biggest nitpick was that were too many Tour tracks. I get that the content was based on Tour, but many of the city tracks blur together and I’d rather have more of the classic tracks

Nintendo has been notoriously bad at preserving their content, and I think we should be grateful for that because now we can play on the Tour tracks whenever we want even if the mobile game shuts down.

Which bowser castle 3? There's snes and gba. I personally want snes bowser castle 3 or gba bowser castle 4, because the tour remakes for those tracks are incredible. I mean, they finally gave depth to a snes track, and gba bowser castle 4 is not like all the other gba bowser castle remakes, it's not flat, and it is such an amazing track (it's also a 2 section track in tour, that's how long it is).
Even though I and many others have a lot of nitpicks: Graphics, No Sunset Wilds, City Tracks Blending In etc Me personally I still prefer the dlc tracks over the base game, my reasoning is because there’s more fan favorites imo there’s a lot of mid tracks in the base game and there’s more fan favorites in the dlc, ik the graphics aren’t as good as the base game but I think gameplay of the tracks is more important than graphics. I still think graphics matter but I’d rather have good tracks but bad graphics than bad tracks but great graphics.
i prefer the music swaps like in SSBU recently like you cqn play the tour city tracks withe the tour orignal songs and dont forget put the sunset in sunset wilds and the tou4 city costumes
My biggest nitpick is the lack of kart parts. We got characters wave 4 so now we need some kart parts. The selection is very stale and hasn't gotten anything in nearly the last 6 years... it would go a long way to bring me back to this game long term. We have more tracks than karts, bikes, atvs, tires and gliders combined!

I agree with the city map issue. Ever since Wave 3 with London Loop, I just look at these on my first playthrough and go "WHAT?" Even though I play Tour regularly, I still get mixed up due to certain routes being exclusive to 8 Deluxe lol
The trophies have always made me so mad, I’ve loved the shell cup for the longest time because of how dang cool it looks and all of the other ones suck, like a blue shell trophy with diamonds or lapis would be hecka cool
Not really a nitpick but I’m confused to why the green track part of Waluigi stadium isnt anti-grav like its angled, and it’s even got the blue neon lights on the edges!! it would’ve been perfect
My nitpicks are the graphics in a few of the tracks, some missing obstacles such as Koopa Cape, Lakitu being annoying in some tracks and also the missing sound effect in Waluigi Pinball. Also some of the city track themes are slightly better in Tour.
I would love to see themed cups. It'd be a cheap way to extend the game. They don't need extra tracks. Just a winter wonderland cup, a dk cup, a rainbow road cup, summer cup. Especially with them showing off the tracks that would be in a summer pack with a recent promotional video
They need to add the option to have 96 races (all cup tour in 8dx) if you have the dlc Also for tour they should color code the maps like they did on the wii u bersion of mk8
Where I think the booster pass can often underwhelm is the fact that every track in it has to be playable on mobile. This means we get less detail and less ambition. Development with this model will never produce a shy guy falls, an electrodrome, mount wario, cloudtop cruise, big glue, ribbon road etc. because those course themes on top of being ambitious, wouldn’t fit well in Mario Kart Tour. I wish we just got Mario Kart 9 instead, so that we could get new and unique courses, not SNES Mario Circuit 3, garbage tier sky garden, gross graphics toad circuit, and Sunset Wilds with no Sunset
You can go on the railing in Waluigi Pinball. After the second jump (the one before the pinball table), it looks like you can go onto the level under it, but you can’t. I feel like it would be a really good shortcut, as I feel like it would be really tough but really rewarding if you make it.
I think it’d be cool if the feather was vs mode exclusive, as an optional item you can select in tracks. If so, I’m hoping they’ll have the same happen to the tanooki leaf, since that item has 8 potential.
I think Sunset Wilds didnt get the change because of split screen. On Tour, they could have it only change for you when you cross the goal. But for 8 deluxe, split screen would mess everything up
No it wouldn’t. The split screens are shown rendered from separate cameras. So they can just have the lighting for the different states be set up so that it becomes visible to a camera when the player that it is for goes to that lap
Birdo has different color options despite not having other canon colors, but Toad and Koopa still only have one color option
That bothers me. Maybe they could bring back the Underground Green Koopa color scheme from SMB1 for a blue Koopa Troopa.

In Wave 4 They Actually Added a Shortcut to Berlin Byways! So there’s a chance the Coconut Mall Glider one might be added as well!

I don't think Nintendo changed the out of bounds zones in Berlin Byways specifically for the shortcut. It's probably because of how little space you had when jumping off a Whomp originally. You could go flying and get picked up by Lakitu just because it wasn't right above the road.
Apparently Mario Kart Tour didn't do it, but I can imagine the engine not allowing the lighting to change during a race could decrease the chances of a sunset-night transition being added to Sunset Wilds. Imagine the skybox changing to night and all the objects still have the sunset lighting. Hopefully it doesn't look bad. If it is added, the Swoops better appear near the end like in Mario Kart Tour when it changes to night (not in Time Trials, of course).

2 nitpicks on the miis
1.Amiibo costumes- I wish they also had unique animations when you do tricks like the newly added ones.
2. I wished they added all off the tour mii costumes or at least have ones based on the characters that didn't make it kind of like how they did it with the mii costumes in smash.

Another thing about Sky Garden and Sunset Wilds is that they have simplified layouts compared to their GAMEBOY ADVANCE originals, even when other super circuit tracks don’t have that

Tour's version of Sky Garden is a borderline different track with how radically different the layout is

btw there is a way to cut the corner in coconut mall, while on the glider, drift off of it and turn on tilt controls while u are in the air. u can change back to button controls once u hit the ground. i used to play this game competitively and it was quite popular to do this in tournaments and time trial leaderboards.

If I had to choose a Bowser Castle to be remade, it would be the DS one. Yes this is very biased, but I think it's a cool track.
Never played that track, but I’ve heard good reviews about it so I wouldn’t mind seeing it. As for me, I’d wanna pick N64 or 7’s bowser castle since they’re more about building atmosphere.
I have another one: the trees on vancoover velocity suspension bridge section, the cave section of mushroom gorge and the mushroom of 3ds RR are just floating on the void.

5:26 I never understood the argument that lightning under water wouldn’t make sense. I could be wrong, but I'm absolutely willing to bet that after wave six, there's gonna be one, super-final cup added. Think about it - Unless Wave Six makes the PERFECT of perfect course choices (which it probably won't), there's gonna be atleast one fan favorite track not included. Plus, with wave six, we'll be at 96 total courses - A sizeable number, but a bit of a weird one to cap something on.
I'd reckon that one final bonus cup would not only add in those last couple of fan favorites (Or really doll up some completely left field picks), but would ALSO round up the total track number to a nice, clean, and even 100!
I doubt it, not every track can be in the game and also they probably want fan favourites left over to use in MK9

Honestly, I got so used to Mario Kart 8 that I forgot a Mario Kart 9 could exist in the future at all.
The change in Sunset Wilds is unfortunate, but it makes sense given the platform. As I understand it, the sky changes based on your lap and location on the track. In Super Circuit and Tour, every player is looking at their own screen, so the sky can have the appropriate appearance for each person no matter where they are. But since 8 Deluxe has local multiplayer, you can have multiple players on the same screen, so there's no real way to make the mechanic work properly. It's a shame, but it's understandable.
What about those tracks that change based on the lap like Paris Promenade and Kalimari Desert?
@@CyaninAnimator Those are just changing the direction specific racers are able to go. That's fairly easy, just make sure each player is guided in the direction they're supposed to be going. But changing the sky for whoever is in the lead would throw the whole thing out of sync for everyone else.
I know people say that Wii Rainbow Road will be in the final wave because of the rumors and leaks about the track, but honestly I would like to see GCN Rainbow Road to be in the final wave. For me, due to to the fact we have a lot of Wii tracks in the BCP but getting little of GCN tracks since wave 4, I wouldn't be surprised to have another GCN track. I'm hoping that one GCN track is Rainbow Road, mainly because of how nostalgic the track is and the way it is designed. Maybe I like GCN rainbow road a bit too much, but I'm hoping this does happen in the final wave.

I wish the Mii's appear as CPU being randomly chosen. That's something that bothered me in SSBU as well (but also SSB4), where I have to select the Mii Fighters manually to appear as CPU's and not being chosen by random. My other nitpick is that there's no award ceremony anymore after the cup. I love to see the characters on the podest without being in their karts/bikes in Mario Kart Wii, it's kinda disappointing that we just got to see the trophy and the list of players and that's it.

Some opinions on these nitpicks:
I get that they made coconut mall’s escalators a lot easier to tell apart… but I don’t get how people ever got confused with them back in wii, like even during my first plays of the track, I was easily able to tell which was the right one (especially due to the pianta pointing to the correct side in wii). Also, the escalators being smooth make them much more fun to drive on. However, I do agree that the glider corner is a little bit strict, even if the red and white bar is a good indicator on where you can go.
For sky high sundae, I may be the only person who enjoys the track and the camera thing doesn’t seem to be a problem for me. You can land safely if you carry on going straight and even if you do mess up the angle, the low gravity lets you easily re-adjust.
For the items, PLEASE NINTENDO DO NOT BRING BACK THE FIB. Having both coins and fibs acting as non-protection items for 1st place would be way too frustrating for frontrunning and would make bagging an even better strategy, which a lot of people (including me) wouldn’t enjoy. I personally would like to see the heart and bowser shell from double dash.
Finally, fuck Mario circuit DS. It’s my pick for the worst BCP track. At least toad circuit is ok as a starter track (which makes sense to have for wave 1) and snes Mario circuit 3 is a decent choice relative to other snes tracks. Not only is DS Mario circuit a basically definitively worse Mario circuit added in 8, but it stole slots from the mentioned airship fortress, Delfino square (my personal favourite track in the entire series) and Luigi’s mansion. This is the Byleth of the BCP
Hard agree. I think this new version of DS Mario Circuit is way better than the original but Airship Fortress definitely deserved that last slot more imo. Other than they condensed everything to not make it super long like the original, they really didn’t do much to justify its return aside from “it was never remade before” which imo is kind of a lousy excuse if it isn’t bringing anything new to the table.

Don't give up hope that Airship Fortress will come to the Booster Course Pass. According to the leak, we are getting 2 GCN tracks for the last wave. The 3 GCN tracks that are in Tour but not 8 Deluxe are DK Mountain, Dino Dino Jungle, and Mushroom Bridge. Since DK Mountain and Dino Dino Jungle share similar themes, I think we are only getting one of them. Mushroom Bridge is too easy for Wave 6 and considering we got Moonview Highway last wave, I don't think it's coming back. With only 1 GCN track most likely coming back, I think they'd be likely to bring back a different retro track. Airship Fortress seems to be the most likely retro track for this slot considering it's a fan favorite track that appeared in Tour.
Mushroom Bridge isn’t too easy for wave 6. It has more Special Cars than Moonview (Wiggler Bus and Mushroom Cars, both added back in tour), and it’s pretty narrow (not as narrow as the cliffside in Moonview, but way narrower than the city.) In all honesty, it could be harder than Moonview should it come, considering the nerf it got in 8 with fewer and slower cars (Man does the city feel empty.) Layout alone doesn’t make it easy, and it would be the perfect track for the second of the acorn cup.
As for the “Too Similiar to Moonview”, may I remind you that DK Summit came after TWO Mountain tracks, one of them being snowy. They could have moved it to wave 5, but nope. I think Nintendo only cares about not clashing with the wave they are doing, hence why 3 barely passes with the mountains being different.
You are right though. Airship is the best and most likely replacement, assuming they do so.

Mushroom Bridge and DK Mountain are for sure 100% coming in Wave 6 even if they have “similarities” to Moonview Highway and DK Summit.

@@daybroken2281 Yeah technically nothing is confirmed because none of the 8 Wave 6 tracks are in any of 8 Deluxe’s datamines. It’s just from extensively looking at leaks, datamines, comparisons, etc. you can basically guess the probability of the tracks coming in and in the end I basically concluded that Mushroom Bridge is a near lock (again no 8 Deluxe datamine confirms it), and DK Mountain probably has like a 90%+ chance of happening over Dino Dino Jungle.
I don’t think Nintendo cares about difficulty in the BCP. I feel MB is still coming since there are 2 GCN tracks coming to Wave 6 and we’re supposed to have 4 GCN tracks in the BCP. I feel Double Dash needs move love for the tracks.

The person who was talking about Bowser Castle was referring to SNES Bowser Castle 3, not the GBA one.
And believe me, the Tour version of SNES BC3 is regarded as the best SNES retro because of the elevation changes and other things. People even say that the whole track having elevation was was made it a 100% lock for the BCP.
I do hope Sunset Wilds is fixed in Wave 6, it’s not guaranteed but entirely possible
13:20 So the Waluigi Pinball sound effect actually IS still there, but 1.) it only plays on random intervals, not when you enter it, and 2.) it's so quiet in comparison to all the other sound effects and music playing during the race that you cant hear it during regular gameplay. It does, however, play in the course intro.
Another thing that not many people talk about is that in Mario kart 7 wiggler actually would move his upper hands back and it looked like he was Naruto running it wasn’t much but it gave the game more charm but they got rid of it in the 8 version
I agree with most these! I would argue sunset wilds is more than a nitpick though, it kinda takes away the only appeal of the track with how overly simple they made it. I think for the battle courses we could get them in wave 6, as there are only a few in tour and everything in the bcp is from tour. Also, I like skyhigh sundae....

Nintendo has been notoriously bad at preserving their content, and I think we should be grateful for that because now we can play on the Tour tracks whenever we want even if the mobile game shuts down.

Which bowser castle 3? There's snes and gba. I personally want snes bowser castle 3 or gba bowser castle 4, because the tour remakes for those tracks are incredible. I mean, they finally gave depth to a snes track, and gba bowser castle 4 is not like all the other gba bowser castle remakes, it's not flat, and it is such an amazing track (it's also a 2 section track in tour, that's how long it is).

Me personally I still prefer the dlc tracks over the base game, my reasoning is because there’s more fan favorites imo there’s a lot of mid tracks in the base game and there’s more fan favorites in the dlc, ik the graphics aren’t as good as the base game but I think gameplay of the tracks is more important than graphics. I still think graphics matter but I’d rather have good tracks but bad graphics than bad tracks but great graphics.
i prefer the music swaps like in SSBU recently like you cqn play the tour city tracks withe the tour orignal songs

My biggest nitpick is the lack of kart parts. We got characters wave 4 so now we need some kart parts. The selection is very stale and hasn't gotten anything in nearly the last 6 years... it would go a long way to bring me back to this game long term. We have more tracks than karts, bikes, atvs, tires and gliders combined!

I agree with the city map issue. Ever since Wave 3 with London Loop, I just look at these on my first playthrough and go "WHAT?" Even though I play Tour regularly, I still get mixed up due to certain routes being exclusive to 8 Deluxe lol
The trophies have always made me so mad, I’ve loved the shell cup for the longest time because of how dang cool it looks and all of the other ones suck, like a blue shell trophy with diamonds or lapis would be hecka cool

My nitpicks are the graphics in a few of the tracks, some missing obstacles such as Koopa Cape, Lakitu being annoying in some tracks and also the missing sound effect in Waluigi Pinball. Also some of the city track themes are slightly better in Tour.
On the subject of Bowser's Castles, Mario Circuits and Rainbow Roads there's also the idea that Wii Rainbow Road will be coming over
I would love to see themed cups. It'd be a cheap way to extend the game. They don't need extra tracks. Just a winter wonderland cup, a dk cup, a rainbow road cup, summer cup. Especially with them showing off the tracks that would be in a summer pack with a recent promotional video
They need to add the option to have 96 races (all cup tour in 8dx) if you have the dlc
Also for tour they should color code the maps like they did on the wii u bersion of mk8

Where I think the booster pass can often underwhelm is the fact that every track in it has to be playable on mobile. This means we get less detail and less ambition. Development with this model will never produce a shy guy falls, an electrodrome, mount wario, cloudtop cruise, big glue, ribbon road etc. because those course themes on top of being ambitious, wouldn’t fit well in Mario Kart Tour. I wish we just got Mario Kart 9 instead, so that we could get new and unique courses, not SNES Mario Circuit 3, garbage tier sky garden, gross graphics toad circuit, and Sunset Wilds with no Sunset

You can go on the railing in Waluigi Pinball. After the second jump (the one before the pinball table), it looks like you can go onto the level under it, but you can’t. I feel like it would be a really good shortcut, as I feel like it would be really tough but really rewarding if you make it.

I think Sunset Wilds didnt get the change because of split screen. On Tour, they could have it only change for you when you cross the goal. But for 8 deluxe, split screen would mess everything up
No it wouldn’t. The split screens are shown rendered from separate cameras. So they can just have the lighting for the different states be set up so that it becomes visible to a camera when the player that it is for goes to that lap
