That 6x6 is exactly what I want for motor bar excursions. I live in Oregon, it's totally legal for this to be a safari rig that serves adult beverages.
That Blazer swap won't be popular, not because of the EV drive part though, but because of that bad design for the battery pack. Since the fuel tank and exhaust system are pulled out too, Chevy could have engineered a multi piece battery pack to fit underneath, same way aftermarket EV conversions have done since forever,.. add in some skid plates to protect the batteries, and the design could also clean up the under-body aero turbulence, which is where most cars have the most drag, and that would both protect the batteries and improve the range, and reduce the wind noise.
Those mirror swap kits are hideous. Instead of integrating it into that removable corner section they just made a metal bracket that looks like an afterthought.
What they need is entire "electric skateboard" chassis swapps for classic trucks. Something you can put a body onto instead of just throwing a battery pack designed to be under the floor of a car into the back of a truck. I wouldn't put it past gm to be intentionally making it look that hacked together to discourage people from doing it so they go in debt up to their eyeballs to buy a hummer.
Don't worry there are tons of square bodies out there. If this concept is similar to the introduced concept I last saw then the motors are stackable so you can up the power to pretty much anything you could want/fit/afford. I just like seeing something different and products like this just make for more options and more reach for the hobby.
Keep that electric unit . That 400 is a few parts away from lots of power . Those are very sought after engines ... i know I own a cuple and several squares. Would pay 1000 for that 400 that came out of there
"The electric engine is more useful than that old small block." You are so WRONG about that so called "old small block" as you can do a lot of modifications to it and is a lot more reliable than an electric motor as you gotta know how to use a laptop to set up the motor.
Great video. Also loving fact that Hagerty is now covering 3 of my toys and I'm also enjoying being a new member of the Hagerty Car Club.
Right on! Subscribe to the channel for more.
The old Blazer is a dream SUV. So much nicer and cooler than what we see these days.
Thanks Tiffany. Always nice to smile with you as you cover the news. You are a gem. Are you listening Hagerty? Tiffany could use a raise. :)

Electric motor in a full size Blazer...why? Now I'm inclined to buy a Prius and swap a sbc into that turd to do a carbon offset.

It's not a VIN number it's a VIN.

Toyota's Recall.... fuel pumps failing. GM's have been doing that for years!!! Where's their recall?
When I think "Jeep doors" I think "half doors." WTF is taking them so long?
That Alibaba truck costs less than a lot of full size dually trucks I've seen spec'ed in the last couple years!!
yeahitskimmel bullshit. First truck to crack 100k is gmc, this year. Not 110k
