It's annoying to hear them say "the top wasn't really meant to come off" when that's the exact opposite of how it was advertised and why this generation of Blazer is more sought after. I bought my first 73 K5 when I was 15, if I could take the top off in 15 minutes by myself a 40yo man should have no problems.
Agreed. I’ve got an ‘88 that my parents bought 30 years ago and last year picked up an ‘85 M1009 (military blazer) and a ‘79 K5 ( complete but a project). Love these things and absolutely removable tops. Should be Even quicker for the people who can afford to spend the big coin on them like at B-J. Install a pulley system with hoist in the garage, unbolt, and drive out from under it.
Getting it off was pretty simple, putting it back on was a bitch! Mostly due to keeping the rubbers in place. I wrecked my back, which was my own fault, but it's not easy regardless
I have a 75 with a bunch of killer parts already installed. SM465 Muncie 4speed with granny 👵 low, 205 transfer case, 12.5" corporate full float rear, new Holley off road 770cfm, roof mounted gun rack, pillow front seat's with dual armrests and full recline, center console, and possibly a 85 front clip to boat bow the front-end..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠
Same here I been working on mine little by little but sure is coming along every single upgrade makes it a big difference one think I been noticing that the parts are getting harder to find and more expensive. But the k5 value keeps going up
You think this Blazer is something I have a square body 1-ton 3+3 Silverado crew cab that came stock with 454/4L80E/205/Dana-60 front/14-Bolt rear. The holy grail of square bodies.
@@johnmalan6914 I get asked that a lot. My reply is: It is not worth selling the truck for what it is worth. Unless somebody that wanted the truck at any price in order to have it is not worth selling it. It does have new crate engine, rebuild trans, new suspension, steering (cross-over), fuel tanks, pumps, engine bay wiring, body mounts, etc, etc.
These trucks are WW3 ready lol very solid steel made here in the US They call these Neck Breakers because everywhere you go people turn their neck and stare hard at them no matter in what condition they’re in lol
Only 50 K for that gorgeous CK5 ??? What a bargain , in Australia it worth 2 times more at least , Ok if the vehicle federal laws mandate about the seat belt fixed anchor point in 76 but what about the Dodge RamCharger?? They kept making the full removable top until 1980 !
For 50k that was a steal. All of the hard work is done. With that price i should buy 1 of each year from 69-92.
Badass truck man I wish I could sit down at that auction. Barrett-Jackson is the best auto auctioneer in the world
You guys have the totally awesome auction cars and trucks and classic vehicles as well keep up the good work as you all doing 👍 😀 👏 😊

You can remove the top off by yourself off a 75 blazer?
Beautiful truck-is that 350 motor?

It literally says it on all the trucks for insurance reasons lol not meant to come off but we all know it does
so beautiful
I seen 1 here in Glendora lifted AF looking like a mini monster truck. Dude was high in the sky
Real Facts.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wrong quarter panel on truck has a fuel door and not just the locking cap or twist cap.
Good eye !
Only a few of us always catch that. Its always a red that the body was pulled from a newer model n converted into a full convertible
That’s the first thing I noticed.
My 75 k5 doesn’t have that fuel door.
Working on a 87 now I would love a first generation

That’s awesome and definitely a rare truck. What year is the truck?
@@johnmalan6914 1991 V3500 Silverado Crew Cab
@@christophersanders5007 that’s awesome! Are you ready to sell it for the right price?

I have a 1975 that I need to get rid of. Lots of great parts have already been added..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠
Nice truck, but not an SUV, custom or otherwise.
a K5 blazer IS NOT A TRUCK !! its tittled as a pasenger vehicle !!
It's a body on frame truck just shorter.
@@R0mmatt correct. but its still tittled at the DMV as a passenger vehicle, not a truck.
I have two K5s, one is titled as truck and the other titled as passenger car. The title doesn't matter
@@markbly7062 Correct. Both of my 72 K5 Blazers were titled as station wagons. Wish I could have them back!
I have a 75 K5 as well but the title shows K10.. The K10 was a half-ton, short-bed truck also produced by Chevy and GMC.
I have a 1984 k5 4x4,Silverado LS 6.0 street cam,AZ,truck 0 rust,,,awsome truck,for sale soon,,,o miles on engine.60k blue and white
Hopefully you guys get another sexy beast like this so I can buy it.
