This is the best Zorro movie and storyline. Disney's version with Guy Williams in the television show are great also, but this film is the best Zorro story out there.
Oh boy, how I love watching the most beautiful man to ever grace the screen, TYRONE POWER! Beautiful Linda Darnell was probably the only leading lady that could match his beauty.
@@paulamiles9559: Take note she did an absolutely supreme portrayal of a half-Chinese woman whose European husband was murdered by Bette Davis in The Letter. She speaks almost no words and her Chinese gown is magnificent! For her incredible acting here she should have won an Oscar for best actress not supporting actress moreso than Davis if the latter did get one here!
I agree they would have made a great couple. Both handsome, both superb with the foil, both distinguished themselves in war service. And they were personal friends. I just am surprised I didnt think.of that already.
@@paulamiles9559: Tyrone was very very very handsome but Rathbone not really. I’m glad you brought up military service which both served in danger but Rathbone in the 1st World War and Tyrone in the second. Many actors either did nothing, or did useless movies even though they were for the cause. That really upsets me. Nice talking to you.
Someone was kind enough to translate the lyrics 😊: It is possible, my Father, That I have come to suffer And that I have gone through hardships Because of a woman Let me put my white hat on you Let me put my blue hat on you Let yourself fall asleep in my arms like a child Let me sing to you, arru arru arru arru Let me put my white hat on you Let me put my blue hat on you Let yourself fall asleep in my arms like a child Let me sing to you, arru arru arru
This is a political song that the lower classes would sing. The colour of the sombrero determined where you belonged so a white sombrero v a blue sombrero is a significant lyric as it demonstrated the class animosity.
It would have been grand if he were on Dancing With Star dancing with this song! He would have won hands down! The applause would have been thunderous for at least 5 minutes!

They need to have someone do this dance and song on Dancing with the Stars exactly the same way!!! Antonio Banderas and a drag queen would be perfect!!!
I can well imagine the cameramen, director and everyone else behind the scene when the dance finished bursting out in thunderous applause!!!
My God but Linda Darnelle was beautiful! I had such a crush on her when I was a boy growing up
I have just watched the whole film. Really enjoyable.
I love the Tango version on Mask of Zorro but this is my forever favorite version of the song.
Yes. Agreed. Mine too.
magic scene, best Zorro ever so far
Best zorro ever
Enrique Rull: I agree!
A most excellent movie. The definitive Zorro movie.

Sava Toufexis Agreed, great scene.Touching. Played well.
and she dead so badly poor woman .burned alive
From when movies were great and the actors greater. This was a time when entertainment was just that.
@Aardvark Ratnick Oh, yes! I agree. This scene is so beautiful!
The jealous look on Gale Sondergaard's face is priceless and worthy of an Oscar just as well for the dance!
Agreed. Perfect portrayal of a jealous women’s look at that moment. Great actress.

Gale won an Oscar . I dont remember which movie. Anthony Adverse maybe?

I love this escene! They were so beautiful! She was so young and pretty!! And he was on top of sultry! Thank you!
I could and do watch this 💃 and listen to the wonderful tune for hours thanks to RUclips!
Masterpiece!!
Maravilloso actor Tyrone Power además de hermoso y viril, me super encantan sus peliculas

Viril? Mas homosexual no se podia hacer el personaje.
I can't imagine anyone else besides Tyrone dancing fabulously to this beautiful melody! All eyes are on him NOT her!
I can imagine Tyrone Powers dancing this with none other than Basil Rathbone!!!
Ty and Rathbone😀😂😂

One of my favorite scenes in a wonderful movie. Doug Fairbanks and Ty are the only Zorros
Best Zorro of all time.
Irrespective of the politics the music is a masterpiece of euphony!
His stomping shoes are a wonderful complementing instrument like castanets!

Do you know if there is another name for this song? Trying to find a recording
In the style of the Flamenco dance with the same outfit and especially those stomping shoes.

It must have taken a toll on Tyrone’s back.
If like this then watch the movie Captain from Castile n the dance scene Tyrone n jean dancing the sarabande hubba hubba
Best song from any Zorro movie still. I am dying to find a recording this song with the lyrics. If anyone has a link pls share. Thank you.
Yes, I'd like that too.
I love this song, does anyone know how I can get a copy of the it?
He reminds me of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. The shoes, the outfit all saying MACHO QUEEN!!!
i love the song but what movie
That the censors would allow showing Tyrone’s "cheeks" so graphically in the 1940s was unbelievable!!!
I was too busy looking at Linda Darnelle to notice
Pongan la pelicula conpleta en español muy bonita
Ty trousers are really really tight.
what is the name of the song?
Enrique Rull: Are you for real?! The song is El Sombrero Blanco. I’ve heard other versions but this is the absolute supreme!!!
CARABINA 3030, DEL CHARRO AVITIA
Comparable to the elegance of the Minuet or the Flamenco.
Musically, it is actually a waltz. I have seen it danced as such at a local church, on a feast day , by young boys!
