CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The record mogul Terry Valentine (Peter Fonda) is introduced at his Hollywood Hills home, as well as his beautiful girlfriend Adhara (Amelia Heinle) who takes a swim.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Two actors best known for their work in the late 1960s, Terence Stamp and Peter Fonda, star in The Limey, a drama in which a recently released felon contemplates the gulf between aging criminals like himself and their modern counterparts. Wilson (Stamp) is a British career criminal who has been released after nine years in prison. He has learned that his daughter Jenny died under suspicious circumstances in Los Angeles, so he travels to America for the first time to find out what happened and who's responsible. With the help of an ex-con named Ed (Luis Guzman), Wilson discovers Jenny was romantically involved with Valentine (Fonda), a middle-aged record producer with a shady past and a fondness for young women. In hopes of getting the truth -- and getting to Valentine -- Wilson finds himself doing battle with some of the worst criminals to crawl from the underbelly of Los Angeles; along the way, he also meets Elaine (Lesley Ann Warren), an older actress who knew Jenny and reminds Wilson of how little he really did for his daughter while she was alive. Steven Soderbergh's first film after his commercial comeback with 1998's Out Of Sight, The Limey features, along with Stamp and Fonda, two other notable 60's actors in supporting roles, Barry Newman and Joe Dallesandro.

The most perfect introduction to a bad guy in a movie. Everything from this, the montage that follows and even the song "King Midas In Reverse" tells you everything that Terry is all about without a word of dialogue!
Why does this work so well?? Introducing the villain with sitcom intro style montage ? First time i watched this movie this along with the dea scene were jaw dropping stylistically
It's a great credit to Peter Fonda that he could telegraph such a specific villainy with just a few minutes of screen time here, without doing anything especially villainous at all. RIP.
I really love how Soderbergh introduces Valentine.
I had no idea who Amelia Heinle really was until I started watching Y&R, which she plays Victoria Newman.
"I remember telling your parents, 'If you're thinking about a name, you can't go wrong with a constellation.'" A great line that summarizes his character's predilection for younger women, and establishes that he used to be a "flower child," but is very different now.
*_"God you´re beautiful"_* - Mr. Fonda is "spot-on" with that comment 😃
"You're not specific enough to be a person. You're more like um, a vibe."
Brillian line.
Best performance ever for Peter. He really brought this character to life. This shows how a young woman can fall for an older man.
Great film.
Amelia Heinle looks a lot like Denise Richards in this film.
"what a view. You could see the ocean, you know, if you could see it."
Best Luis Guzman line EVER, that everyone misses!!!
RIP to the legend.
Chris Bennett amen
Ann Margret was cast as Peter Fondas ex-wife in this but all her scenes were cut.
RIP Peter Fonda
You tell 'em I'm coming!
RIP Peter Fonda.
I'm still feeling sad about it! :'(
Rich guys get all the best tail
Brillamt film
Brilliant casting..Captain America from Easy Rider a many-years-later yuppie sellout.
RIP peter fonda
You think a guy like that will ever get it?
What is the name of the song?
King Midas in Reverse by The Hollies.
@@davegibbs6423 Thank you sir. This song slaps.
One of the best uses of songs in the movies.
He seems cool, but he’s an arch villain. People today get taken by people like this every day, because they’re successful.
