I was so happy that Ryza 3 was not only announced, and not only in the Direct, but even in the English language version! Ryza, iirc, was announced in a Japanese Direct, but wasn't shown in the English one at the time, so Atelier being big enough to have a slot in such a big showcase like that is just awesome
They really REALLY stepped up their game with this one. Like, oh my gosh, the amount of technical improvement from Sophie 2 to this one is so good! Like, the graphics alone is so well done, but it's just the tip of the iceberg!! Open World (a MASSIVE one by the looks of it) where you can wander anywhere ala Elden Ring, new and different !!mounts!! that allow additional traversal options for Ryza, that new cooking scene and the open area you can build your house in.... so excited for this game lol. And I love how the subtle changes to Ryza's character design progress as the game series goes forward! You can really tell this girl's gone through a lot and that she's become tough as nails for it and really transitioned well into an adult! So proud of her
@@JRPGJungleyea me too i’m very excited about ryza 3 being released especially after the major backlash against sophie 2 from me at least i just couldn’t get into it
When the menu screen music showed up on the 25th Anniversary video, I am almost certain we are getting another Ryza! I am in awe that Ryza gets this much love from the developers and the fans alike, and I'm glad to be with everyone in this adventure!
Me too! And it really is cool how you can see them get older, yeah. I was really impressed how Ryza sounded a little older too :) love how you get a true sense of them growing up ^__^
So many great announcements this year and really glad to see Ryza 3 is coming! As the one who persuaded me to give the series a try with your passion for it I’d ask you to never turn down the opportunity to talk about it Tara! I started with Ryza and have been hooked ever since, glad you decided to post the video and looking forward to more about it from you along with your thoughts on other announcements as well :)
I've been replaying Ryza 2 on a higher difficulty and I literally jumped out of my seat when I saw the announcement for Ryza 3 during the direct! Very exciting news! Ryza 1 was my introduction to the series and I've grown very attached to the game and characters. I played the first game during a very stressful time (during the pandemic) and it really helped me relax and cope with being literally isolated most of the time. I'm very grateful that Gust is able to deliver such great games on an yearly basis! I've thoroughly enjoyed Lulua, Ryza 1+2 and Sophie 2 and I'm now slowly making my way to older games
your lucky that you can bring yourself to play the older games i can’t even look at them after having ryza 2 be my first entry into the atelier series as unlike you i was utterly pissed when sophe 2 was announced because it got rid of the awesome non turn based combat system from ryza 2 that i loved sophe 2s combat was so different from ryzas that i can’t bring myself to play the older games as the turn based combat system isn’t why i play atelier to begin with i play it because it’s a non turn based combat system so unfortunately i have no interest in the older style i can only play the ryza installments and ryza 3 because at least it’s an evolution of the gameplay style that i loved
i do not have much context for everything you've said (I only vaguely know things about all of these games) but as a friend, I am glad that this has made you quite excited. Maybe by the time Ryza 3 comes out I will have played Ryza 1 and/or 2.
I'm looking forward to Ryza 3. Wasn't expecting it to come out so soon. I hope some of the side stories and playable characters from 2 make an appearance.
Yes, any excuse to talk about Atelier is a good one! I was hopeful for Ryza 3 to be announced, but totally wasn't expecting it to be in the Direct. It was a very happy surprise and was the highlight of the Direct for me. With more news coming out, I'm so happy that Bos gets to join the party! I hope that Patty is the final character that has (at the time of this comment) yet to be revealed. I also hope we see Fi.
Thank you for uploading this video! It was very interesting to hear your observations from the video and you were spot on! I'm so excited for Ryza's third adventure and can't wait!
Iv never played them yet but I'm gonna buy all 3 so I got all them . 2 is already starting to get a little hard tro find goin for 70-80 on ebay . I can't wait to play the series . Ty for ur great vicos !
So glad I got into his series. Ryza one and two have been fun and thanks to them got every other game and even got the latest Sophie 2 a bit again so happy we're getting another and even cooler that it's ryza again for one more adventure.
I just recently finally got to beating the first 2 along with Sophie 2 and with Ryza 3 on the horizon so soon, genuinely is a pleasant surprise! Thank You Tara for highlighting / showing this series and doing such a great job capturing the magic in this series! 😄 excited for Ryza 3! Genuinely a gem of a channel!
I'm torn on Ryza. I wanna love the games cause they're so cozy and chill looking, but after getting into about 20 hours or so into Ryza 1 I just wasn't feeling it and had to drop it. Cool that you get more for fans that love it
Was 90% sure when I heard Gust had a new announcement coming it was going to be Ryza 3 as I was surprised they skipped over it previously for Sophie 2. Doesn’t look like it’s going the direction I expected the series to end with which would’ve been a story about restoring the underworld but still looks like a beautiful and fun adventure like the previous 2 and ranks high on my list. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of announcements. Fall/Winter releases already featuring enough to fill my backlog for the next 2 years!
I knew you'd be excited! Same here! I hope it's turn-based or very close. I'm a bigger fan of Sophie 2's combat than say Ryza 2 or especially 1, where I was spamming buttons. I'm guessing they'll transfer some of the improvements from Sophie 2 into Ryza 3, like auto-selecting a tool for harvesting. I didn't prefer manually selecting a tool every time, like in Ryza 1. And finally, Ryza 3 already looks beautiful. I can't wait!
Do you think we could see any characters from Sophie 2 in Ryza 3? Lots of the characters in Sophie 2 come from various points in time so if the Atelier games take place in the same universe (not sure if they do) I think it could be possible and a neat connection.
It would be really cool, however I would be very surprised if it did. It’s hard to know if the worlds are in one universe or others (From Nelke I feel maybe like different ones from memory), but the 25th anniversary has had a lot of special stuff so far. I wouldn’t be mad if it happened :))
tbh it is hard to imagine most or good amount of Atelier actually coming from one universe. But it might actually be possible if they're already generation apart or every few million years the humanity got a forced reset since if we're talking geography, it sounds impossible.
Well if i played ryza2 sooner than the announcement maybe i might not be surpised since i heard there were hints for a ryza 3 and i believe it was also explained on the ryza2 video by jrpg jungle.
I was hoping for a 4th entry in the Dusk series, since i feel like there was more to do with Ayesha and Keithgriff but Ryza 3 is also a good choice. I enjoyed the first two games alot.
I expect 2 Atelier Titles in 2023 because It always 1-2 titles per year for them. Just 3 Years ago I finished FF titles more than Atelier titles but now I'm finished way more Atelier titles than FF titles.
Havent played this series but the news from Nintendo Direct caught my attention. Would it be recommended to play Ryza 1&2 before going out to get this game on release day?
It could be good, although Gust does tend to try make each game accessible for newcomers. In saying that, they are releasing a double pack with Ryza 1 and 2 in Japan, so I do wonder if it’s a hint that it’ll be good to know about them. It’s the final game in the trilogy (at least for now) so you do get payoff by knowing the characters and seeing how they’ve grown, it just depends how much that matters to you or not :3 hope that helps!
I'm sick of Ryza as a protag. We're not used to same protag for 3 games! If she takes a pupil that would be totally awesome tho. I'll play it cuz ryza 2 was way better than the first one so i hope the 3rd one will be a blast. About the Gust showcase i want to be surprised! However since blue reflection 2 was so interesting (story, characters dev) i want another one.
I'm actually not as surprised for Ryza 3 since Atelier has always been trilogy for so long, with the 4th game acting like some weird Spin-off like story separated from the trilogy main plot. I'll be surprised more if we get Dusk 4 in some kind of forms instead albeit the way they end Shallie made me want to know what happened to the world after that. It'll be a bigger surprise if they ended up making 3rd game for Mana series or port the first 3 games to the current gen console.
I would love to see them do something with the older titles :3 you can play Marie Plus on smartphone in Japanese, I would love at least a port of that or something so we can start to get the whole series in English :))
I was so happy that Ryza 3 was not only announced, and not only in the Direct, but even in the English language version!

I love these games, always so calm and relaxing to play.
I'm so ready for Ryza 3! It's crazy that everyone actually looks older each game. I'm so ready for playable Bos

So happy to see Ryza 3 announced finally! Ryza is my all-time favorite Atelier game and I hope this would be a perfect conclusion to Ryza's story.

While watching the Direct I saw the reveal and said to myself "JRPG Jungle is going to have something to say about this".
I always knew Ryza 3 was gonna be a thing. Enjoyed 1&2 alot and this just looks like another small step for the aterlier formula

I expected it to be the ryza universe and for her to remain the protaganist. If I’m not mistaken her universe is the best selling atelier game?
Im pretty sure, yes :3 her series has been very good for Atelier!
@@JRPGJungle yep! I’ve also noticed a decent overall budget increase since her first game for the gust jrpgs

they gonna release a trilogy release sooner or later
I'm confused. The anniversary video shows an empty frame which suggests a new protagonist. But the new game is Ryza 3. Doesn't make sense.
I got tricked too 🤣 I was hoping for a new girl and seeing ryza in her 30s or something, but this still great
@@andrepudel I'm guessing that they were referring to the game that comes after Ryza 3
