My coach at my first tournament: "don't worry, your opponent is a white belt too."
The white belt:
@@Jamesbradley001 rip bro
@@Jamesbradley001 you won obviously, right?
@@epicboi3213 🤣🤣
Yeah, happened to me on an “amateur” judo white belts tournament. Faced a BJJ purple belt, the guy was so proud after he beat me… what a prick.
@@epicboi3213 he played with me for a few mins then got me with a RNC
Should have interviewed the brown belts. Those guys were probably having an existential crisis.
They prob rage quit and went home
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 made my day
Hahahaha best comment ever
Lol 😂😂
😂😂😂
He should've followed every submission with "I can't believe it actually worked!" The brown belts would tap again from emotional damage lol
Hahahaha
That made me laugh out loud 😅😂😂😂😂
hahahahahahahahaha
Yeah, or during the fight keep saying, "I saw a guy do this on RUclips."
"First day also ?" to a brown belt
Besides just being funny, this is a fantastic ego check for the gym and a reminder to take all your training partners seriously.
Learnt this the hard way 😂😂
Exactly. They don't know if he's a Sambo master or a D1 wrestler (or a BJJ black belt) wearing a white belt. It's the same in a street situation, you have no idea what you're up against until its too late.
Yes. I was gonna say the same thing. I have to imagine each of these guys realized they were in over their heads in shit well after it was too late lol
Especially when a new white belt come in to town and the professor is recording his rolls and that's the only time you are on the footage after years of training :D
They all know he isn’t really a white belt there is now way.
It's the little things that really give it away. All the micro adjustments timed just right. People can be very talented and do powerful stuff, but no one can adjust to every obstacle like that without an insane amount of mat-hours.
Micro adjustments. Haven't heard that one in a while. Takes me back lol
Arthur is a super good blackbelt!
Great points
Speaking of little things, his ears are a huge red flag too lmao.
Real sneaky like
Goes to show how great your students are Jordan that they take the losses so well when they thought he was a white belt. Good group of humble people.
Truly a great group!
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsuI tried a bit of Hapkido many years ago and I didn't like my Instructor. Not all martial arts people are kind.
It's been WAY too long since anyone's successfully pulled off a bjj fake white belt prank. Glad you were able to set this up! This was awesome.
Ya for me this one wasn’t as good because besides the belt itself, he was legit just crushing/sweeping everyone extremely easily. Any blue belt+ would immediately know this is not a white belt whatsoever
What the purpose of such pranks other than the humiliation of it?
@@collybeans586 The fun of it when you watch it and when you experience it.
This was one of the best ones for sure
What stood out to me is that no one had an ego or got upset when the "white belt" beat them. That's the sign of a professor that teaches the proper values of the sport to his students. Practice is to learn, and this will teach them a lot.
I agree that Jordan's students are lucky to have him as an instructor, BUT, I think Jordan is also lucky to have such a great bunch of students.
100%. Everyone handled it so well. I was very proud.
but is his house in order, thats the real question
@@raregoodds3143 his floor is clean, he wipes it with all these guys.
I will visit Jordan's gym some day. I watch a lot of his videos. I am actually a white belt 😂
“I do a lot of Kung Fu and watch Jordon’s videos.” 🤣 This turned out amazing and was everything I expected it to be. Awesome job to the both of you for playing it off well, although his slick moves were certainly fishy. 🧐 Genius play by him to keep trying during the live guard passing drills. Definitely a white belt move! This was worth the wait.
what kind of kung fu are you doing man 💀
The fact that a prank like this works is a sign of a legit martial art
You should always be aware of your surroundings and the atmosphere of the room and spirits of those your about to face, if you see in your minds eye that something is off then its your choice to call it out , but if you think its beneficial for the team even if short term to remain silent then its on you , but such is the way of our deceitful world now , blurred is the path between black and white, and its smoothed over as a joke again and again. But its all good because someone learned something, yeah they got a first hand lesson in ninjitsu, or worse..
This really an example of “A black belt is just a white belt who never gave up.”
Everyone was a white belt at one point so be humble and don’t put people down ❤️
Exactly! The time will pass anyway. Might as well use it for training and becoming a black belt one day.
Is it not the inverse? A black belt is a white belt who never gave up lol
@@Adel-pi2rw omg wait you're right i messed it up lol
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsugonna use this as a quote. This is really good in other aspects of life too
As an actual white belt who started 2 months ago, seeing this made me laugh, yet appreciate the art more. There's so much to learn! Awesome vid!
His grips alone told me he was a high end black belt
Then his foot placement on passing was incredible. Had to rewatch a few of his passes 4-5 times before I figured out how they worked.
Yeah I would have called bs within 10 seconds
Fr. His passes but especially some submissions were way to advance for someone only training “a couple of days”. Surely they edited out ppl calling bs. Right?
The timed sweep off the pass against the Brown belt reveals his elite skill level
I haven't done any martial arts since I was a child, but just seeing how smooth he is with his transitions shows he has THOUSANDS of hours on the mat. His ability to adjust in milliseconds is insane
I’ve been out of BJJ for over 6 months and this makes me want to get back on the mats. He made transitions look so easy and seamless
Do it get back on the mat brother
Do it! I just got back to the mat after 10 months. At first, I was beating myself up for not practicing since I saw peers on social media going up in belt rank and then I got imposter syndrome but I missed. This is also Ego ps my ego was bruised and did not want to go back. I had to learn if don't drill and practice it won't come back and I didn't want to fall too far behind.
This video gave me a laugh. Many who are watching this have probably already seen the other 'BJJ Black Belt Pretends to Be White Belt' prank, and I'm glad that there's more of that content on RUclips now :)
Props to the dude at 5:32 for complimenting the “white belt” at the cost of his own ego - takes a certain maturity to do that without making excuses
Separately: It’s neat how you can “feel” that a person is experienced or skilled within seconds of a role…
I know “game recognizes game” in all sports but it’s an extra cool experience in BJJ because it’s happening to ur body, as opposed to just being observed: 8:24
It's crazy how it's just the "feeling" the adjustment and movement... sensitivity and flow... one day hopefully for myself I can get there. Just keep rolling and learning! Love it!!!
It was a blast!! Thanks to Arthur and his guys for helping us pull this off 😉😉 was pretty funny watching everyone 😂
You are pretty 😊
Damn dem juicy tits
@@Sulamanjansulttaani lol relax creep
It’s hereeee!!!!
Finally haha! Thanks for doing this 🙏
professor ,your acting and your bjj are the best
The attitude of the students was great. You can see the respect and enthusiasm to just getting better being the focus. This is the type of gym I would like to be in. They all seem skilled and trained. Awesome and fun video! Never underestimate your opponent.
That’s Arther Zuka, he’s a high level BB champ and really great coach.
Thank you. Searched "Arthur" and couldn't find any videos lol. They should fix his name in the comments.
“I do a lot of Kung Fu…”
Man that one had me rollin 🤣
Collective sighs of relief... lol Love this kind of prank. Being a blue belt myself, I can completely relate to those guys... Great watch!
What he said about the vibes of the place, the people & bringing his own guys to a select of places is golden. Also about the place being lucky to have Jordan. 💪🙌 respect ✊
He was slow, methodical, and just smooth. No brute strength, no hyper speed, like water flowing around wrapping these guys up to their obvious frustration.
I love these kind of videos. Good humbling exp. Dude was legit..
This is why i feel you should treat every new guy like a black belt but even at the higher belt levels still feel like a new student because you can always learn something. Youre always growing as a grappler. stay humble
The black belt is like a spider monkey!
His situational awareness, and and ability to react to and neutralize attacks before they were able to be completed was just beautiful to watch.
Obviously a seriously high level player!🫡
Nice to see how everyone was very humble around you despite maybe being a bit surprised at how skillful the "white belt" is. I'm a blue belt myself, and I'm super fortunate to train in an academy where the head coach always creates such a positive learning environment. Despite that, I've seen my fair share of high ranking white belts or blue belts who let their ego get the best of them. One white belt actually hyperextended the new guy's arm out of frustration that the new guy was able to deflect all his previous submissions attempts
From what I gathered in my years of training (nothing compared to the black belts of course), yes you can have better technique and more experience, but that doesn't guarantee that you'll be dominant during a fight. Even without any martial arts experience, the new guy can be good based on a naturally fast reaction time, being a fast learner, physically taller and heavier etc. In addition to partnering with higher ranking belts to learn technical skills better, I also found it really helpful to work with the white belts that give me a hard time, because I can work on my weaknesses and solidify my knowledge by teaching them stuff. And just a bonus, try to use an advantage you have that most of your teammates can't do (mine is doing the oversplits), it may help you out during a crucial point of the fight
Basically, no matter what rank you're in right now, stay humble and be open to learning from anyone. When a lower ranking belt gives you a hard time, instead of getting angry, take it as an opportunity to better your skills. Who knows, you might learn something from the new guy in terms of fighting strategies
Good point and so true. Many ppl avoid training with white belt or just dont take it seriously. And if somethong goes wrong, its always the fault of the white belt!
I learned things i ONLY could learn with beginners, that is, to really adapt to "mistakes" the beginner makes, and suddenly, magic magic, once tuned into the beginners mind, a great practise.
Dont patronize beginners, or try to "teach" them, just learnfrom their beginners mind and attitude.
@@JustMe-vz3wd Exactly, I really like rolling with white belts that are much taller and heavier than me, because I know in the real world, people don't play by the rules in street fights. Combat wise, I find that they can attack/defend with an outside of the box method, so sometimes I can end up learning something from them that I may never encounter from seasoned BJJ veterans
Because of videos like this, I immediately suspect every new white belt that walks through the door lol
The interviews at the end were classic. Great prank Jordan and Black Belt Ninja!!
That was demoralising for the teachers
The honest commentary at the end made the video amazing!
Had lots of fun watching, thanks :-). The kung fu line was awesome.
Really enjoyed the podcast, will definitely keep up with future episodes 👍🏻
I appreciate that so much. Makes me really happy you enjoyed it. I can't wait to make epsode 2!
My son just started Bjj and this came up in my recommend while trying to educate myself. Great video. Everyone had an incredible demeanor and seem like awesome folks. I'd bring my boy here anytime if that's always the vibe. Thanks for positing
Yeah, it obviously depends on the place (there are some very mean parts of the BJJ community) but they are mostly like this when practicing and rolling.
And have in mind that i'm someone that kind of dislikes BJJ lol, i have been practicing Judo since i was 4 years and i did have issues with the BJJ people but i can totally recomend it anyways
Been waiting for a video like this for a long time, since Alex Vamos made one. Great content Jordan 🔥
Amazing. Such an awesome sport and I love how you can’t tell just by looking at someone, what they are capable of. Super humble as well.
Well put, man. The culture is one of the best things about Jiu-Jitsu. And one of the main reasons why I love it so much.
8:16
Hahahahaha I love this guys reaction🤣 good stuff lads!
Jeez I sound super Canadian when I hear myself talk lol
It was a great night! The reactions were priceless 🤣
This was a very funny and super cool video. That was a clever lesson to teach your students. Even though BJJ isn't for me, ( I tried it out for about 4 months), I really enjoyed watching this. The reaction from your students was priceless!
This is hilarious!!! Thank you for pulling this off!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This videos are always fun to watch.
It's nice to see your team is very humble even after getting destroyed by a brand new white belt.. lol :)
I was cheesin throughout the whole video. Your ability to keep a straight face in the video is godlike. Oh and never have i seen a cleaner shot ad before. Your video editing and shooting have gotten soooooo good. Nice to see everybody in the gym and hear them talk too😁 Keep up the good work and thanks for the fun video!
Love the transitions. And the submissions, especially the armbars. He never pulled them to a straight arm or risked any injury , just held it there and gained more control. Says a lot about the people who roll just to hurt someone, this guy could have broke a lot of limbs.
Exactly. True control = real skill 🙂
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu couldn't agree more brother
I agree about the straight arm bars, it hurts when newbies pull those
Clearly, your guys are both good students and sportsmen! Cracking video! Well done all!
Some beautiful sweeps and transitions throughout.
Its the little things that gives him away, yea… like that insane guard retention 👀 and that bolo sweep, i know your videos are awsome Jordan but i did not know that you had a hyperbolic time chamber program in there. Great vid btw, this is a format i love, gj with your edits too, they have improved a lot
Always loved these white belt pranks since I saw Alex vamos doing it years ago. 😄👍
What a nice lad, not overextending the arm bar, but patiently waiting for the tap.
This video was awesome. Super funny and interesting. Keep up the great content
I love these pranks. He didnt hold back at all.
Your an awesome Professor for sharing your knowledge 👏 thank you
Yesss I’ve been waiting for awhile for this
This was beautiful to watch. Just slow steady dismantling of all defenses
The next visiting white belt is going to be dealing with the repercussions of this roll. 😆🤣
Definitely think the praise was well deserved. Great video. 👏👍👊
They are wondering why they black out of two second roll😄😄
The amount confidence that went down for some of those guys 😂
This is Brilliant. I hope more people do this trick.
I never get tired of this type of thing 😂 It's a great reminder to not concern yourself with how you do against others as long as you're improving. Everybody has different attributes, don't compare yourself. Keep doing your best, that's all you should ask if yourself.
Something I love about BJJ is that you can close your eyes when rolling with your opponent and pretty much guess their belt level.
Honestly, this gym seems amazing. The higher belts had no ego and were smiling even while losing to a “white belt”. Definitely a great place to train.
Arthur kills these rolls! Way to go Bro!
That was awesome. It makes people get out of there comfort zone and to never let there guard down.
It's always cool to see a black belt roll someone right up.
Hahahah I can just imagine what they're all feeling and thinking as well. Sometimes you do get really good "beginner" white belts that come through. You just have to leave your ego at the door. BJJ is a very humbling sport.
"What the hell kinda Kung Fu?" Lmao. I come back to this video every now again. Love it.
Really cool video, thanks for all the great content!
Black belt pretending to be white belt is like 1000000 x times better than the other way around x)
Love the little "good job" the brown belt gives him at 2:55. Humiltty!
Thanks man. Our gym culture is something I'm really proud of.
Good details to execute the prank perfectly; skinny lanky dude with no sign of cauliflower ear, no rashguard just a regular shirt inside the gi, which is definitely oversized too. The "brand new" white belt look is all there.
These are always fun to watch
Nice to see the sportsmanship about the prank 👍🏻👍🏻
Good news. I already watch a lot of Jordan's videos now I just need to train some Kongfu
I laughed so hard at the end, "i've done a lot of Kung-Fu" hahahaha Great video
I love these kinds of pranks. There are only a few if these video on the tube.
“He watches my channel” 😂😂😂 i love this video!
This was brilliant 😂😂😂 great prank Jordan 👍🏻
“I thought I was gonna get him with a kimura, but then he ripped my arm off” 😂
Excellent video in many ways!!
Thanks, John! 🙏
This was amazing !
What was that video shot with? The quality is amazing. Very fun video too!
Sony a7siii with a 22mm lense. Makes such beautiful footage 🙂
Yeah, he's got some great Kung Fu for sure!
Great video I don’t think Anyones thought of doing something like this before, original and funny great stuff.
After the initial surprise, purple belts and above would catch on very quickly that the white belt was a stooge. I love these pranks, done with humour and a generous spirit, big props to all concerned.
Besides being a funny prank, this is also an excellent way of teaching BJJ students how to check their ego.
Very true! I'm so happy with all my students. They all took it so well!
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu exactly. Even I was proud of them. Great job, bro. Ouss
Your gym seems like an amazing vibe. Would love to maybe come in to train one day
Thank you! I hope you do!
very smart prank 😂 good lesson in humility too!
That blue belt was fighting the arm bar like a title was on the line hahaha. I think Arthur was looking at the camera like “why doesn’t this dude just tap??”

i was like ok, its on but maybe i can get out, but he just didn't want to hurt me and let me try to work but i was not getting out lol He was being very nice and not cranking it hard. he was a good dude, very nice.
@@uke_mike You fought it well!
The fact that he had no signs of cauliflower ears probably helped too😂
Dude you make it look so easy its actually crazy
This is one of the best videos i've ever seen 😂
this is really funny for me because he sort of moves like my coach, very deliberate and snake-like :D I would be pretty suspicious about him after a min or two into a roll hahahah.
good stuff :)
Thanks! That's why I tried to do short drills and rounds so people wouldn't get too suspicious. By the end a few knew something was up though!
I’ve learned thinking about belts and approaching rolls focusing on it can stunt your bjj from a mental standpoint also. I adopted a mindset that I am a black belt already. I’m a 3 stripe blue. I study and watch black belt matches take notes. Try to keep sharping my fundamentals. And my game has exploded since I took the mindset. Not gonna lie and say I’ve subbed black belts but I have pass guards if black belts and took down brown belts. Subbed purples. All the high belts give me their full power because they know how I’m coming. (I cheat a little too with taking a edible before training) 😆 but I say if you’re a competitive blue and a year in make that mental switch “I’m a black belt”
Does being incredibly high really make you better? If so which strain do you use? 😈
@@xXLethalWolfXxI don’t get super high just like 15-20 mg
