    I’m so frustrated, not because the show was amazing but because Lucasfilm’s takeaway from this is gonna be “keep playing it safe, no more big swings, Dave Filoni shows forever”

      They havent played it safe since the force awakens (I wont count rise of skywalker)

      Sure hope ya'll liked Ahsoka, because the general storyline-quality of Gen Z's preferred sw waifu is what's on the menu for the next few years. Oof.
      I personally prefer the witch coven chanting/Jedi ball-dropping stuff.
      It's like trying a weird new food as opposed to demanding the same Happy Meal every time. But kids gotta have their tantrums. And their stormtrooper zombies.

    Between blowing millions of dollars per single minute on the Acolyte and now the RDJ Doom casting, there has to be some serious money laundering going on at Disney right??? Like there's no way

    • @alma3884052
      @alma3884052 Месяц назад +7

      I've been wondering about that too. There are claims that they blow 300 million dollars this and shit like Secret Invasion and I can't see how, it certainly doesn't look like it on screen. And some of it is definitely because all of these things run on such a tight schedule, with the VFX team getting only a few months to do their job, the writers entering and leaving the shows way into production etc, but even accounting for all the BTS mess, it's hard to wrap your head around it

    People need to post pictures of Diego Luna smiling bexause he gets to be in what is generally the most liked Disney Star Wars movie and what is easily the most praised Disney Star Wars show.
    He is just dodging all of the hate and ourrage of the fandom.

    my brother and i just recently watched and enjoyed acolyte and were pretty excited for the next season only for it to be cancelled literally days later. i think it got off to a wobbly start but i honestly really loved the last half of it

      i just didnt like how messy the character writing was, like the main character changing her opinion on the jedi every episode. i also dont care about anything that implements modern politics, thats how you instantly make something not timeless

    I’ve been rewatching Star Wars Visions and it just made me realise how limited and uncreative most of the live action Disney Star Wars is.
    The sequel Trilogy, Acolyte, Ashoka, Book of Boba Fett. They’re too afraid to be actually creative and go wild with this space adventure franchise. Even Last Jedi which talks bigs game doesn’t actually do anything different.

    • @claytonandres1194
      @claytonandres1194 Месяц назад +2

      Visions is such a breath of fresh air and it makes everything look worse by reminding you just how interesting it could be. It’s like eating two-day-old fast food then having a single bite of a gourmet steak before having more stale burger

    The show was way too expensive so for how badly written it was. It should have lived on with a cheaper season 2.

    Disney gave up on Star Wars ten years ago bro, it’s insane how little effort they’re putting into things. Why is Ashoka Rebels season one million? Because they don’t care anymore, they’re just letting Filoni do whatever he wants because the entire IP is cannon fodder to them.

    • @claytonandres1194
      @claytonandres1194 Месяц назад +2

      It’s basically how WB handled the DC universe for the last decade: we don’t care what happens, we’re putting zero effort into any of this, first guy to show up (Filoni/Snyder) gets to run the whole thing

    I found it interesting that Mason mentioned that streamers should just order for three seasons and call it good...isn't that what Amazon is trying to with ROP? Now don't get me wrong, the first season had huge gaps and from what I heard season two is just as bland, but someone has to give it to Amazon that they are sticking to five seasons from the get go...even if those seasons are going to be dry mildew lmao

    I liked the show but I think Acolyte should've been a self-contained story. Give it a few years and they'll likely pick up the story in comic or book form.

    I was actually excited for the acolyte specifically because it was finally something that wasn't set in the small timeframe around the movies. Real shame it was so bad, could have opened the door for a lot more stuff set around the high republic era.

    Non linear/non broadcast TV. Nothing feels like an ongoing series with a possible next season feel. Programs exist pre-recorded on a hard drive
    /cloud we can access at anytime. Seasons? Who gives a carp.
