    6:18 My favourite part of the Hobbit soundtrack, and it's right at the very beginning of the first film. It's like the music is saying "Welcome back to Middle Earth."

    This man is a legend, his sound in Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit movies is full of life. It's a composition of happiness, sadness & terror. Howard Shore is a Legend.

    The first time I watched The Hobbit, I almost shed a tear. The nostalgia was too strong when I heard the shire theme. I just couldn't believe I was coming back to the world of Middle-Earth.

    This was so touching for me. I don’t know why but it made me cry happy tears. Howard Shore is a legend and just when I listen to the Soundtrack, I know what is happening and the Movie plays in my head. I really really love what he created. It is bloody amazing. I’ve watched The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit so many Times that I know who says what at what time, but the movies and the music never gets boring. I also love how many feelings he can create with this music. I really feel it and it’s amazing. Thank you so much Peter Jackson for those incredible Movies nad thank you Howard Shore for the amazing soundtrack! These two and Tolkien of course are legends!

    Howard is a master .. not just movie music but in pure orchestral and cello concerts as well .. Also he is great with the electronic sound as in The Fly , The Silence of the Lambs .. Then seven was a bit different.. Then all his films with Scorcese are all of different kind //

    What can be said that in anyway changes what we feel and hear when listening to this music.
    Anyone who has written has their own reasons for doing so but 99% will all say that it is an exspression of what see and feel given the sights and and the reason for the sights.
    For me it was the simplicity of the opening veiw of this movie, a peaceful almost childlike enjoymement of all that is simple, enjoyable and collectfully family like that living in a small country village brings with it.
    I was always surprised to see the way that this movie went over the heads of so many of the younger ones who watched it, simply because they have never had the chance to sit under the branches of a tree, enjoying the warmths and shade of a summers day with an interesting book and an apple to munch on, and the music takes you there straight away.
    For those involved with music will all know, you have just got it right when it tugs at the heart strings.
    Someone once said, if ever you want to write meaningful music, just take a look back at your life and the events within it, there is a piece of music right there, how true that turned out to be.
    This movie and its music is a master piece of this work at its very best from the first note to the very end, i doubt that i will ever hear anything so touching for a very long time, thank you very much for videoing this preperation.

    I'm really sad they didn't feature the French Horn a lot more. I feel like it was an integral part of the soundtrack and I only heard it's feature once and they filmed them for 5 seconds max. As a high school french horn player I watch movies SPECIFICALLY to hear the horn and I love listening to this score. Just wish I could've seen more.

    All this stuff is good and dandy. But he, nor will anyone else improve upon his works for the original trilogy. His soundtracks for those films fit each and every scene and have really sculpted the way we watch the stories. It is better than anything Williams, Elfman, or Zimmer has ever done. And believe me, I love those guys. They are probably better in whole, but Shore doing LOTR trumps everything as far as soundtracks go.

    • @AntimatterSemen
      @AntimatterSemen 10 лет назад +4

      I kinda agree, but I do absolutely love Shore's "Dwarf Charge" fight music from The Hobbit. I think it's his ballsiest, rousing piece.
