I believe malificenet knew more than she lead on cause if you remember she was the only one that was digging for the box (Pete was) everyone else just looked
I had suspected MoM made different prophecies for different recipients to influence them into their individual destinies to achieve whatever he saw through that eye and liked. Naturally he would keep an accurate one for himself. So its probably the accurate book of prophecies in the box.
Nice theory. I have a new theory idea for you to explore and here is the threads connecting them. It has been said but not confirmed that Yozora is Sora from another universe. Supporting this is that Yozora has been seen as the only one able to take Sora's Keyblade during the final battle. The idea that Sora can go to different dimensions or states of reality and then Yozora accesses the same kind of power using dreams supports this as well.. My question becomes: why then does Yozora look like Riku instead? And if it's Sora underneath it all, why is he so cold? My guess has something to do with Yozora's driver who was guessed to be Luxord. After Luxord's defeat, Sora says he wants to play again when they're just guys. Then, there is the wild card given to Sora as well. What if Luxord's complete person has the power not just to play with TIME (power of waking) but also to alter appearances? The game being played is Yozora has to lean on dark type powers to lure his KH self so he can pull a Lingering Will/Terra and take his body back. Yozora looks like Riku because of Riku's heart influencing Sora when he is about to take over Yozora the same way Sora possesses Kairi in Melody of Memory. When Sora wakes up in Unreality, we don't see Yozora anywhere. Also, notice there is a red tint to Sora's side while Riku's side is blue tinted. Yozora was watching Riku who was supposed to be arriving days or weeks after Sora. This opens up the possibility that the new direction being taken is that Sora had the wild card to alter his appearance and powers to the point where we as the audience couldn't recognize him anymore. You're probably wondering then why then wouldn't Yozora recognize himself. Well, that was either part of the deal made with his driver or that the Master of Masters loses the darkness entity his heart was housing and it hit Yozora. Another angle to consider is that Yozora has 2 opposing eye colors. If I had to guess, Yozora has the power to switch realities in the way Sora and Riku could see but not access each other physically in DDD. Yozora is far too powerful to not be under darkness entity influence. Yozora's blue eye is eerily close to the same shade as Sora's plus he can use the same water magic when the Keyblade is stolen. The power of duality and accessing 2 different parallel worlds would be the only way presented to do whatever is planned for Sora to get home. I think that since Sora is in another dimension, the keyblade won't be usable. However, when Sora needs a power the most, the wild card will make him into Yozora with the drawback of not being able to change back without another reality of Sora's body being present to be recompleted. This theory was made up watching this video and makes a ton of assumptions. This was the "Yozora is Sora and Sora works with Luxord to play one last game" theory.
My personal theory for why the box was able to reappear only after the 2nd Keyblade War is connected to what was supposed to happen as it was written in the Book of Prohecies: "In the end, darkness prevailed and light expired." That's how it was supposed to end (not to say that MoM didn't have his sequel already long finished at that point) but after Sora rewrote reality Luxu says that they gotta make sure that the Guardians don't blunder their way towards a second failure. Because in the original way the events were supposed to play out Marluxia wasn't recompleted to be a human again, there he doesn't get his memory back. But since now, in the new timeline, Sora defeats him and we know he's being recompleted and has his memory back and knows why he's there, that would set in motion another string of events. In order to travel to the future one needs a medium and someone with memories of them at their destination. As we saw in the secret ending for Uχ, Brain's hat clearly was the medium and then in turn, the person with memories would be Lauriam. And Brain is the last person who we saw with the box, meaning if he hid it, then was sent to the future by Luxu, Luxu made sure that Sora went against fate, to have Brain come to this time and tell him where the box is.
Catching that design detail in the ruins is a major find, well done. That just changed my entire frame of mind. The ruins that get brought up are like a maze, and I don’t think it’s coincidence that the first “black box” Maleficent found was Pandoras Box, which was (in the real life mythology of Greece) found in a labyrinth WITH a Minotaur (aka the Baphomet Xehenort & NoName keyblade) guarding it. Add into that ,Xehenort himself is a portal and has all manner of wacky abilities, it makes sense that he was the only one able to manifest those ruins during the fight, since he had NoName at the time. The Foretellers got everything from the Master, and he even said he was the last of his kind from the very first war with darkness. It makes sense that this could have been the first “world hub”, where the first keyblade wielders come from. Good video.
I've been saying it for years at this point, but I think that the box has nothing in it, thus allowing it to be a gateway to unreality. There's a quote that Hope is putting your faith in something that doesn't exist, right? The faith put into the box having SOMETHING important inside it transfers that faith into unreal. Or maybe it's like Schroedinger's Cat, it might have something inside it but until observed that something is nothing.
What we see in back cover, Luxu is surprised by what's in the box, but not disgusted, confused sure but not really disgusted imo. And... well.... the box... It's labeled.... Xsuper. That can be a few things... Xsuper as in Chi-super as in Key-super super is latin for master, over, or supreme,Key supreme so it could be the X-blade... which I've had enough of at this point, but it's still on the table cause we never see what happens to it in KH3... it's not helping that the box has 7's and 13's all over it... Xsuper, X as in chi as in the fundamental energy and source of all life or soul, super as in above or over, so over soul, which is maybe Kingdom Hearts. once again it's not helping that the box has 7's and 13's all over it... and is dark, and kingdom hearts is... "lost in darkness" UGH. Xsuper could be Key Super, as in key master, as in the master himself. even more of a slap in the face the masters name is implied to be a derivative Superbia via the Fortellers nameing convention. so having the box marked Xsuper is just... UGH I hate symbolism. The there Xeanorts take on X,which is that it means "death" and that it "spells endings". Which... UGH if it IS darknesses makes Xsuper really on the nose X=Death/darkness/ending and super as in greater, the greater darknesses.
Interesting theory. One only thing I would add/change: I think Luxu partially lost his memories when he got “half possessed” by Xehanort. When he got Norted it is possible he lost some of his memories becoming a nobody (as it happens to all the other memebers of the organization) when Sora defeted Xigbair I believe he reacquired his lost memories thus remembering how to get the box back. This or he was a big big actor this whole time. Anyway I am intrigued by his saying that the box has been hidden by many keyblade weilders in the past. It’s either he means all the weilders he possessed or maybe in Missing link we will get more info about the box as well?
My theory is the Master of Master's body. I mean his Keyblade is the Waypoint. His heart might be floating around time. And as per the rules of time, their body must be at the destination of arrival.
Memory of someone is one of the requirements to resurface in the future... Did... did Luxu throw the box into time and plant the idea of it existing to draw it back out? He didn't 'lose' it he just made sure it was in the safest spot it could be, outside of time. Once he needed it again he started telling people about it to give it plenty of anchors to appear in time. Just an off-the-brain idea.
So that is what happened to 7 of the darknesses, and why MoM still instigated the keyblade war. I already had an idea that the box containers at least 7 of the 13 true darknesses, but I didn't know how they ended up in There. Thanks to your explanation I understand things so much better now 🙃 and I won't be so lost when KH4 comes out 😅
Malificent was informed about the Box from one if the deadly darknesses right? So wouldn’t the darknesses want Maleficent to find and open it to get the other darknesses out as to not be destroyed once taking over a body like the master wants? Therefore ensuring the endless cycle of light vs darkness continues. Basically im saying at least 4 of the darknesses, planned to be sealed inside the foretellers, are in the box and that’s why it couldn’t be opened
I personally don't think that the box was hidden by MOM or that he interfered. Luxu had instructions of when and where to take the box. As seen by the opening of 2.8, he took the box to the keyblade graveyard. Watched KH was summoned during that time. At that place, at that given time, the box disappeared, as instructed. It was as you said at 11:27 that Xehanort made the box appear again. And during the battle with between light and darkness the key, which was needed to unlock the box became complete. As it had 13 locks and 13 keys were made during that battle. I don't think these 13 keys were needed to make KH appear nor for the (stable) formation of the Xblade, as UX and BBS had shown. Also, as Xehanort had the Xblade he doesn't use Noname for the remainder of his existence. Putting this all together, my guess is that someone is toying with / using Xehanort or feeding him instructions. We know that it can't be Luxu as this would contradict with his given instructions by MoM and his seen actions, whether working with / for MoM or against him. Thus, it has to be someone else, either in the shadows or directly. And we know that Xehanort had interacted with only two people which are higher than him, or as a mentor (we know have knowledge about these topics). Which would have been Ansem the Wise and MoM as seen during the shortcut. But how they met and details about this are vague. But looking back at it now, as per his actions, things don't add up. Especially how he acts and what he has been accomplishing for only to dismiss it all a few frames later anyway. (Thinking about it, it may have been Luxu during the lost memories period after fusing with Terra. Looking at it from the perspective of being higher in command. But this thinking also contradicts my previous statement, which is why I left here.)
I feel like there is another timeline that the master of master only knows about. Like when he told luxu to go with his eye. He would have seen the future and wrote it down. Well the timeline where the luxu left would have been complete true timeline one without the master interference until it came time to set luxu off but this time he knew precisely what he needed to know to change the course of history to fit his agenda. Such as given more books to the lost masters and giving them tasks and flase/true statements that would cause them to act in a way he intends. So the timeline from that point on after the book was wrote and our luxu was given the eye the timeline would have split. The master didn't care what the ending was to that timeline all he needed to know was what would happen in the future to change it to what he wants to happen. After all the first time around the master wouldn't have intervened so he wouldn't have even talked to young xanort to convince him of anything. So who knows what the first timeline was like or if a war would even happen. Because it seems like to me the master purposely set them all up against each other to make a keyblade war again and again. Witch would further prove my theory. And the reason why the master disappears would be because he wants little to no presence of himself around to make the lost masters build up tension or argue and disagree. After all if he was there it would still bring up tension but I really doubt any of them would have fought and on top of that they mostly all thought the master would return if they started a keyblade war. Just my theory
his theory of there begin seven darkness within the box does make sense for one reason...recall the scene in kh3 at the end we see younger versions of eriqus and xehanort and the chess board and eriqus sets it up with seven black pieces on one side and one white piece on the other well recall whats at the top of those seven black pieces thats right the foretellers and MoM symbols which could prove his theory right and the MoM sacrifices themself and the foretellers to be used as vessels to contain those seven darkness inside the box and that one white piece has to take them on
The ruins are the original remains of the original x blade war before the time of fairytales the one the mom partook in , I believe he was an original foreteller (pride) who brought darkness unto the worlds by opening the real complete kingdom hearts , and now he is just trying to fix it , the box has the original dark based x blade sora holds the one of the realm of light the final goal is to gain the neutral one from unreality to combine all 3 and reopen the original kingdom hearts

Every kingdom hearts game is in the box
I think Luxu started the first keyblade war by opening the box after Ava beat his ass😂
Luxu started the keyblade war. It was his fight with Ava that rang the bell at Daybreak Town, that alluded the start of the first Keyblade war.
What we see in back cover, Luxu is surprised by what's in the box, but not disgusted, confused sure but not really disgusted imo. And... well.... the box... It's labeled.... Xsuper.

VERY interesting. I swear this box has something to do with darkness or hearts! Lol
Im guessing he buried it in the keyblade grave yard. He unearthed it once the final battle was over. Once the ground has resettled.
*what if the master of masters is sora from the future* 😱
Well I did do a story covering that theory in the form of a alternative timeline
Interesting theory. One only thing I would add/change: I think Luxu partially lost his memories when he got “half possessed” by Xehanort. Hmmm.... maybe the box is the medium that brought back the foretellers and made soras trip to quadratum possible.
Maybe what’s really inside was the friends we made along the way
Just a minor detail. Top of the box has 13 spikes on the lid. 13 spikes on the box around it.
Memory of someone is one of the requirements to resurface in the future... Did... did Luxu throw the box into time and plant the idea of it existing to draw it back out?
