Let me disprove that - There is a correlation between the number of Shark attacks and the amount of Ice cream sold during a day. The cause of the shark attacks is not the selling of ice cream (or is it?), it is caused by the increase in visitors on a sunny day - therefore, correlation does not imply causation.

I find it distracting that many of the debaters will read off essays rather than look at the audience. In many presentations in the sciences, it's bad form to read the notecards or to read off powerpoint slides. I expected many of them to have already memorized their arguments and be prepared for opposition.
I need someone to present their stance and to explain their arguments as if they are teaching and talking to me. The essay should only be used if they get lost.
