New ones look good!!! Keep the 35’s imo they look meaty and I’m sure you’ll feel a difference offroad, I run 315/75 on 16 inch wheels and love the look but I’m ready to go 37’s and 17’s… like you said snowball effect lol
lol snow ball effect. A used 3.5" long travel kit popped up 2 weeks after I bought my Tacoma. I've been burning money ever since lol. I also went to 17s with 35s. I ran 315/75r16s for about a year, but when I needed new tires they were so hard to find I just ended up going to 17s. I like the tire to wheel ratio more too. If you live in SoCal and need help let me know. I'm going to make a jack extension soon for the floor jack on my truck. I built, installed, fabricated/welded, shock tune, alignment, maintenance, everything on my entire Tacoma myself except mount and balance tires.
This is why I got 285/75/17s because it makes up for that extra in loss in tire meat. 34s just look so perfect on the taco if u don't want to go full 35s yet plus regearing
I have a 2012 ram 2500 on raw aluminum, true beadlock trail, ready wheels and my truck is silver I did a gloss black bead lock ring and it really does make a difference. Wheels are a 17x9 trail ready beadlocks and tires are 37x12.5 bfg mud terrains
@@desertdime is the “proper” that will take you time and $ to find. If you want the journey take it on decisively. 👍, but if having a great set up then take time to enjoy, that is the reason we build this rigs. Anyway, you still have tomorrow to redo and go for the 35, 37 or 40 the proper way or fully functional to enjoy. 👍
34s (285/75r17) on 17s are also a good option. Don't gotta deal with clearing the width of a 315, still got the same sidewall as a 285/75r16, saves a little on weight, and can fit larger brakes. Seems like a great middle ground. 35s usually measure like .5-.7 talked but a lot wider, which you gotta clear
I always think back to what these two random guys told me in GTA when I was a kid at Los Santos Customs, "It doesnt matter if the wheels look cool, it matters if they look good on the car". I'm applying that to my build till this day haha. These wheels look insanely good. I just don't think they look right on my truck.
ohhh dang, didn't know they have a low profile long reach option! I already have the normal garage jack tho. Might as well get the badlands next for the bed of the truck
If you like this then you gotta check out one of my videos from last month. I put a whole spicy set of machined wheels on with the new glass and bumper set up
Depends on what kind of off-roading you’re gonna be doing. If you need the 4wd like for trails or crawling then go that route. If you’re doing desert stuff then 2wd should be fine
Not a fan of the polish look. bBlack if fine, maybe changing the wheel design might bring a different look to the truck. I know you’re a desert guy more than off-road and that’s why you’d go with glass but you can always trim your fenders.
Honestly it looks really good but i agree with what your saying, one “simple” thing definitely leads to a whole lot more
i would definitely cut before you think about needing fiber glass. Lots of people run 35s without fiberglass. Looks good though!
I agree not a fan of machine wheels on sliver. But still like the look of the 33s, kind of a sleeper pre runner build. Simple and clean.
Ahhh good old days with Dezert Dimes
Can always count on you to bring that up
Looks awesome,if you go that route I welcome you to the money pit, 3rd stage its exactly what you mentioned -glass, prerunner bumper and ducktail

Lmao how did I find an old college buddies RUclips channel 😂 just picked up a 24’ Tacoma so we’ll see if 35’s blow up my 4 banger turbo
Haha what’s wild is that I’ve been watching your story the past few weeks of you selling the old one and picking up the new one! Congrats btw

I put toyo at3 35x11.5r17 load C on my LT 2nd gen taco. They fit and cycle much better than regular 12.5 wide 35s
Looks sick with those 35s! I have 3rd gen pre runner with 4 inch lift spindles and 33’s and i love it
It’s perfect on the polished wheels and 35s 🤘🏻. Cleans it up well
I have 16s with -25mm offset and 315s. Pretty much same suspension setup, CMR, and regear to 5.29. It rips
did you cut the fenders at a higher arch to clear on full compression?
The Black rims looked awesome!!
A classic look that is timeless
Dude I have there 1/2 ‘ Earthquake impact- tha thing puts in the work.
Wish I would've seen this video before I got 35s on mine! Snowball effect is a real thing.
Stay at 33” you had it well set, you will enjoy more with where you are at now with the truck setup.
I love how it performs right now, but cant shake the desire to see how it would perform with a proper 35" setup.

Love your taste on tire sizes ...same here dont like the semi low profile tire
Arby's style haha. We got the meat.
if your worried about 35s got to a 285/75/17 (34”) thats what i run and dont rub at all with the same amount of cutting you currently have
also just cut your stock fenders instead of glass
ohh ill have to look into 34s. And yeah i've had a few guys show me that i can just cut the fenders and fit 35s without glass.
i just watched your viod you post 2 years ago talking about you going to sale your truck i'm very happy to see you didnt sale it
I'm glad i didn't sell either!
How many inches is your lift kit ? And which brand if you don’t mind me asking
The Coilovers are 2.5”-3”, I have 4” spindle lift as well, then whatever the difference of the tires compared to stock tires is
polished looks classic
machined look so much better. I wanna switch up from plain black wheels too. BLUE BALLED AF
Harbor freight for the win 🙌🏻
Looks great man excited to start a similar build in a 1 year also I think painting the hubs to match the rim wouldn’t be a bad idea just a thought tho
That would be even MORE silver tho
Nice wheels I’m at the snowball effect also
enjoy every painful second of it haha
Are those E rated tires? (10 ply) or normal ones
Yes, they are a load rate E! LT315/70R17 Toyo Open Country M/Ts
I got a silver body and I’m a digging them wheels 💯
That truck is a lot taller than I thought 😂
Haha you mean when it droops out, or when it's sitting on its own weight?

Toyo AT3 35/11.5R17 is also a good option to a traditional 35/12.5r17.
@@nickvasquez85 yeah I'm interested in the 35/11.5r17s next, wish they had more E Rated options like the G003 or KM3s
Those machine sliver looks clean i say run those

Try Black & Machined. 👌🏼
Unless your going to go FullBeans, leave the 33’s.
KMC makes that black and machined wheel that I really love, but everyones been getting them lately.
you should get the daytona long reach jack from harbor freight, it just almost lifts my LT tacoma all the way
ohhh dang, didn't know they have a low profile long reach option! I already have the normal garage jack tho. Might as well get the badlands next for the bed of the truck
35s is when you need a second person to lift a tire up haha its like close to 80lbs each
I think 35s would weigh clean over 80lbs. My 33s on 16s weigh in at 83lbs... unless my scale is wrong
SCS wheels will look sick on yours
Call me weird but I love that look but I’m a ooo look Shiny kinda guy. Also I like the wheel poke
If you like this then you gotta check out one of my videos from last month. I put a whole spicy set of machined wheels on with the new glass and bumper set up
I like the stance, 35's looks good, not feeling the machine type wheels though
Much better! 🔥
Hey Sir! We sincerely look for a video collaboration with you! Are you interested in trying our Tacoma custom seat covers?
You should try out titanium wheels. Maybe icon compressions in titanium
Less wheel more tire ! I have a yota on 15 inch wheels on 37s
I subd. Workin class small budget diy .
Trim the fenders
I’m on mid travel and 35s third gen taco
Yeah, I've had a few people DM me after the video came out and showed me some examples. Looks stealthy af!
should i make my 2wd α mid travel truck or get α 4wd and mod that out?
Depends on what kind of off-roading you’re gonna be doing. If you need the 4wd like for trails or crawling then go that route. If you’re doing desert stuff then 2wd should be fine
yokohama makes a 315/75r16 tire that weighs about 10-15 lbs less per tire than toyo
‘Dude! Seeeeeee’ hahaha 😂
Silver looks so much better but so would purple innov8s😁
Innov8s would be BALLER! Not only in style, but also price haha
Trim the fenders like 2 inches
35's and no re gearing? That should wreck your mileage and power

I want bronze wheels and I need tires for my bilestein 5100s sooo bad
r u gonna sell ur 33s w wheels im on street tires
nvm smh
Haha if I ever do, I give my IG followers first dibs on parts.
All this talk about 17's SMH. The Tacoma Sport comes stock with 17's so what's the big deal.
We're not talking about anything stock over here haha. Stock wheels and tires are always the first thing to go on a truck.
OK COOL
Gonna be some chicks now
Finally! Tired of only getting dudes attention with the truck haha
Keep the wheels can the tires

Yeah, had a good number of guys tell me I can just trim, but I am enticed by the thought of subtle 2" glass.
Need to go 4.30 or 4.56 or maybe even 5.10 now... 3.73 isnt gonna pull that happily
Silver on silver doesn’t vibe…
Seeee I thought not
@@desertdime I will say this. 35s too fit quite nicely on your truck tho. That lift spindle is a game changer for the 2wd guys FS
✌🏽
lol bauer
Stop 😢 it’s the little impact that could 😂

I’ll take your old wheels/tires. $600
Did you watch the entire video ?
